These are great lessons from mike clear informative and most of all fun, you can learn a lot with no expence at all or purchase a particular song but still good value. Top stuff.
There is no easier and less expensive way a person can learn how to play guitar songs. Mike Herberts uses teaching techniques athat are easy to understand and simplify things so that even beginner-level guitarists will quickly learn how to play songs. What are you waiting for? Let Mike be your guitar teacher. You won't be dissapointed.
Hi Mike, great lesson. i am on the second half and nearly ready to start working on the pentatonic, great job! keep up the good work and my bests to the team.
Top notch tuition. Budding guitarists cannot go wrong irrespective as to what style they yearn to play. Mike is the man. No boring theory lessons; he just gets on with showing us in great detail and easy to follow lessons how to play the guitar. Thanks Mike.
I haven't watched a bad video lesson from you, and thank you for clarifying everything you play to newbies like me. You really have made more interesting my learning process, and most of what I know is thanks to you. Keep Rocking My Friend Mike.
Well done Mike :) and also i'd just like to say that he isn't the only one to be able to teach on the whole of youtube, Marty Schwartz is immense too!
Would you be able to teach Mississippi John Hurt's "Lone Some Valley" In all honesty your the only guitar player that can teach on the whole of youtube.
Mike's Methods are quick to learn and my best friend when it comes to results that stick. SloMo Director for me was the key to openning up new styles of playing. Thanks Mike
Mike, Are you sure you're not from the Mississippi Delta? I know you're accent is a little different than mine but when you really get going in your blues videos I'd swear I've heard you play down on Walnut Street at the foot of the levee. You should come visit during the Blues Festival and I'll show you around! And don't forget your guitar- I just hate sharing mine! LOL Great job! From someone who knows good pickin' when she hears it.
he changes the way he plays it from beginning to end but still good. yeah I think this is called pentatonic blues cause it has the added "blues note" but that would make it not technically pentatonic anymore cause it has 6 notes not 5.
Just one query- can this blues piece be done in fingerpickin' style as well? I am trying to stick to the 1-2-3- thumb on 4-5-6 format for blues, and leave learning to flatpick for the moment, until it becomes necessary.
In my experience, it is best to learn flat pick first, then fingerpicking. I've known musicians who once they have learned fingerpicking have great difficulty learning to move their rhythm hand from the elbow.
So my suggestion would be to learn both at the same time or flatpicking first.
Learning flatpick first does not matter. What you say has more to do with the quality and ABILITY of who you learn from, and how it is presented. I always teach finger style first. When that is UNDERSTOOD, including syncopation, the other is actually easier. My students in three months own technique both pick & finger equivlent to other guys playing for three or more years. It is all in how it is broken down, and HOW it is presented. Many ways to learn. Some better than others.
hi Mike, What superb lessons you have. I have been playing about 8 years and seemed stuck but your videos has shown me some new fun and GOOD sounding guitar lessons.. Thank You John
Your vids are genius Mike!! You've given me hope that I might one day master a blues riff or two...I'll be happy with one for the time being! ;-) Thanks mate!
