Excellent tutorial. I had an excellent workout this weekend flipping tires. If you're looking for tires, I recommend checking Craigslist (search "tractor tires") where you can often find free or low priced used tires. I also enjoy securing a 20 foot rope through the "rain hole" (drill a hole in your tires to allow rain to drain) and hooking the other end to a belt for "tire drags". Dragging a tire is sort of like dragging a sled, but much more friction where the rubber meets the road.
So is ok to do it the other way if the tire is light (sub 300lb) and you are working on speed and reps or do you always have to do it this way to protect your biceps? Is that a 600lb tire?
I would have liked to have seen you do 3 or more reps fast so as to see how to get into the proper position quickly.
Great video. Thank you! I confess to having done the "ugly deadlift" a number of times already, with a tire almost as big. Very thankful you put this up, before I had a serious injury.
Tire flipping is freakin cool. Just got mine. Glad to see how to do it correctly!
