  • Gah. I have 200+ minecraft videos and I use the same claim on all of them I link to the TOS where they give permission for videos and I've had monetization removed on 5 of them in the past 2 days? What the hell else do you want from me?

  • What a bunch of bullsh-! Even following the exact same steps, youtube STILL disable the monetization of your videos.

  • Good link thanks.

  • @partnersupport Does this mean that videos such as the ones on my channel (with the one exception of the Spacemarine which got accepted) aren't applicable for monetization as they aren't educational for a video game? My channel is going to be focused on specificly multiplayer gameplay where-in i am terrible at the game in question. Whilst i understand the whole point of proving the license etc i just want to be sure.

  • Does anyone know why my videos keeps getting unmonetize after a few minutes? Is it some kind of error?

  • This is BS. Do it and you're still going to have some power-hungry YT monkey disabling the monetization on your videos.

  • @Chawman agreed.

  • I submitted a file to claim my videos from matching third party content, but failed. Is it possible to submitted another file on the same video?

  • well i was think of making money off of my commentary but going through each and every companies to get permission is a LOT more work than youtube thinks i actually want to start up a gaming channel so when i get older i will already have a job but this is so complex to make any money what so ever i play the game as is most of the time i play them blind so their is no education factor to them and Machinma is also very hard to get into so my i am kinda screwed don't you think?

  • @KaedeGames Learn to spell kid, and punctuation couldn't hurt.

  • @demonjack123 why don't you screw off kid btw i am not a goat next time use a dictionary child

  • That's cool, I had monetization on my videos for around 5 months with no problem, then it all gets taken away. Give me a reason why youtube when I followed your instructions.

  • Please update the information on this video because the information here isn't helpful at all.

  • (Roughly same copyright claim regarding the same game (except with the up to date link for the TOS))

"We have disabled monetization on this video because we were not able to verify that you have the appropriate commercial use rights for all included content.

If you can provide documentation that you have the necessary commercial use rights for all elements in your video, please take a moment to learn how to claim rights to a video, and then submit documentation."

    WTF?

  • I have 62 videos of gameplay on my channel and today I get an email removing revenue sharing on one single video...I'd love to know how that worked?

  • @srfgaming

OK now it's 2 videos. wtf is going on? They are all the same. Either remove it from all or none already....!

  • @srfgaming Me too. Follow the instructions in this video and it works fine for a while... Until they start pulling monetization and sending you e-mails saying that your reason given was not sufficient to allow ads. WTF?! This is EXACTLY how they told us to do it and then later they come to us individually and tell us that it's wrong?!

Consistency, YouTube. Either stop pulling ads when we follow your instructions, or remove these instructions and post more accurate ones.

  • how to get to claim description page??

  • a tutorial on making claims for tutorials....brilliant

  • anyone know the link for bf3?

  • what about gameplay videos without commentary?

Any chance at all to monetize them

  • @googlewatcher

    Probably not.

  • It worked for me and I just used the correct form:

    Game name

    Link to creator's website

    Any other legal revenue information

  • Google and YouTube are biased. They let Whiteboy7thst and other gamers post their videos for monetization, but they will not let people who are not that big on YouTube do the same. How come they can but we can't?

  • @JustBeingAnthony you have to have the correct licenses which most big commentators acquire through networks such as machinima.

  • Guys dictionary definition of commentary:

An expression of opinions or offering of explanations explanations about an event or situation: an editorial commentary | narrative overlaid with commentary.

    • a descriptive spoken account of an event or performance as it happens.

    • a set of explanatory or critical notes on a text: a commentary on the Old Testament.

If you state this dictionary definition when submitting your video for monetisation it should work; it's legal by definition to use text.

  • @bax450 So let me get this straight, if you clearly state there is commentary that has a point to so some degree and you think back to the EULA, you're good to go? It seems there has to be more to it then that.

  • Can I commentate using words on the bottom?

  • So, if I have how to videos that provide commentary in the form of in video text overlays, does that count under "associated comentary"? These rules are incredibly vague.

  • thanks for the info!

  • Nevermind, this is just stupid. I mean come on, gaming channels can't earn anything unless they're patnered. I'm giving up on my channel, I'd rather get my vlogging channel partnered in a couple of months, then waste time on this. It used to be a hobby, but not YouTube just made me overexcited to make a couple of cents, and they just made it so hard. Ugh. This is too frustrating, oh and MAKE FUCKING CUSTOMER SUPPORT. WE CAN'T CONTACT YOUTUBE OR GOOGLE FOR SHIT.

  • does this count 4 how to use video editing software like how 2 make special effects

  • @charmedlauraturner yes you can do a how-to for video editing software and post it. As it is entirely content you create, you are just using the creation tool. Showing a video of a video/software editor is not copyright infringement from what I understand. As long as you are using it as a teaching tool, then you will have no problem.

  • Comment removed

  • @DaHadz13 I said that, because its not guaranteed to work. So it may work for one person, and not another.

  • Why does YouTube hand out monetization with so little guidance? I understand there are hundreds of topics and no doubt hundreds (thousands?) of videos detailing it, but it seems as though they do it purely to gain that extra advertising space only to turn round at the end of the month and say you've done it wrong. Just seems a bit unfair to the little guys, like me, who make hobby videos and then get blindsided with offers to make money off them. I mean for crying out loud, I make Skyrim videos

  • Comment removed

  • Hey guys, I monetize Walkthrough videos. Videos should be under three minutes, or have educational commentary to be eligible for monetization. Just wanted to clear that up. This may be different for everyone.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks, this should help me get some ads now. Good.

  • I have a very specific question towards PartnerSupport, or anyone who has legitimate information concerning this subject:

It states that "use of video game or software user interface must be minimal - OR - the associated commentary must provide instructional or educational value."

So this means you should EITHER minimize the use of the game/software interface OR provide full length INSTRUCTIONAL commentary? Because some people think the "OR" stands for "AND", AND I am getting confused :)

  • Furthermore, it seems that the only way to make money of your clips (not your content) you must have either the written permission from the publishers OR join/get invited to a large collective like Machinima or TheGameStation, who have their own "deals" with the publishers and give you the "right" to monetize your "illegal" content.

  • thats is discrimination i have a speech disability i can not commentate on my videos

  • where's the claims description page???

  • thank you that really really did help

  • Ok so I do game commentaries of old n64 games how would I be able to apply for this magical partnership thing? Especially since Its not a how to blahblahblah it's just me playing and yelling.... A lot lol PS check it out if you wanna.

  • @Nrds0fAmerica

I would also like an answer about what to do with old video games. I've been uploading a lot of old NES games, as well as Minecraft, and I would love to monetize my videos.

  • Where do I find this page?

  • Now the problem I am facing is I am available for monezation, but all my videos contain video game content, and I do not know if a single one is a tutorial or walkthrough based one. They are made entirely for entertainment purposes, but I know you can do it because such video game channels as the Yogscast do similar things.

  • @NuclearQuality as long as the video has some sort of commentary, you can call it a walkthrough

  • lol minecraft link doesn't work

  • u need to ave copwite for games my ads where re moveed

  • @Hi675445 so you cant upload like a 30sec clip. with out commentary on it. and run ads on it???

  • I copied and pasted

This is a video of me giving step-by-step instructions to teach people how to get through (video game title here) and providing constant commentary on what is occurring onscreen throughout the whole video. This video is exclusively for educational purposes and is all done in fair use.

For all 3 of my Skyrim leveling videos and they were approved to be monitized.

Check out the vids on my page for proof this works!

thumbs up so other can see!

  • @Seriousbaker did they ask you for any documentation? cus that seems to be the problem for me :S

  • @RenoImovie They didnt ask me for any documentation at all, just submitted what I pasted above and in about 1 hour I had ads on the vids submitted.

  • @Seriousbaker

Sure that works when you first add a video. Just wait a few months... They approved all of my videos but have now revoked monetizing all every video. My videos are the same as any Machinima or Seananners video but for some reason my videos aren't allowed.

I call BS. And being a small channel, there's absolutely nothing I can do.

  • @srfgaming Weird. I havent had any problems like that and I've had my Skyrim videos up for a while now. I've also monetized more videos. I havent seen the videos your monetized but, if it contains in game videos such as scenes then that could be your problem. I used to upload Let's Plays and every now and then I would get copyright infringement on them because the scenes had been copyrighted but the gameplay part was not. Anyway I hope you can find your problem out quickly, good luck!

  • Comment removed

  • @Seriousbaker did you place the copyright website link for skyrim??

  • @93hothead No

  • @93hothead where would u find the copyright website link?

  • Still doesn't help us know whether a let's play is "educational" or not. I'm showing you how not to play by my suckiness, aren't I? But I'm afraid to submit for monetization, because I've put so much work into my videos, but I know the youtube robot might decide to just remove my videos on a whim and there won't be anything I can do if that happens (because the removal appeals are also automated and therefore immediately rejected unless you're extremely lucky/famous)

  • Can I still do this with a review? Or is it only tutorials?

  • If I get permission from the company to have their video game in my review, would that be could enough, or would I still have to link to any applicable license terms? (Whatever and wherever those are).

  • @RPKGameVids 5 sratr for that coment i got a video on this it called the proplem with modatizing game video

  • Also, I'd say my game reviews are educational. Yet on a couple of them, monetization has been removed. Wtf? Is this just going to happen with more nad more of my videos and I'll lose monetization altogether?

  • What are applicable license terms, and how do I find them?

  • why my first few video approved and then the rest of it didnt??? All video has a "Monetized" blue highlight words on the right, but none of them beside those few really monetized video have advertisement on it. I changed my description for the monetized and its still not approved. This is so annoying!! Even the video doesn't really shows gameplay has no ads. Can somebody help me????

  • I want to do a walkthrough of certain games, but i can't find the license terms copyrights. Will my videos be remove?

  • so if i dont have authorization but its a commentary it will be ok?

  • Comment removed

  • What exactly does "extended periods of time" mean? What entails a video that shows "minimal" amounts of game play or software use? Something like 10 min? 5 min? This video is so vague!

  • WTF? Im waiting two weeks and i didnt recive any message about my videos .. can anyone help me ? i click "monetizon" and i fill text..

  • This makes me question why Tobuscus has a video game page...

  • @SharinganLust Right?! I just sent him a personal message asking him how he worked around this because...err "educational" is not what i would describe his "Let's Plays". Maybe it has something to do with the "minimal" or not for "extended periods of time"? Because, highly doubt he went to all the game creators and asked for their permission. D: ....I'm stumped. ARG! akjhadkjsdakhjd

  • @KawaiiGamergrl Nah, I completely agree.

I watch a video of his here and there and I'm like "... Okay, so none of these make no sense. It's just you playing through a POPULAR game spouting the words "BLESS YOUR FACE!" and it just... gr. And like I said, playing through all these damn popular games doesn't help either. Makes him look like a whorebag. Like, I deleted all my videos so I could at least be informative and start fresh, and it takes away all the hard work I try to put in my videos.

  • @SharinganLust  Hold the phone~ I love watching Toby's let's plays. I just don't know how he got around the legal stuff. ^-^;;;

  • @KawaiiGamergrl I don't. I did when he first started, but then he started doing popular game after popular game, and it just became overbearing with his same repetitive lines. So I just kinda meh.

  • @SharinganLust He's partnered through Machinima, which is different to a standard partnership.

  • Comment removed

  • @SharinganLust Tobuscus is partnered under Machinima who has the permission from all those video game companies. Partners who signed up through Machinima can post video game "let's plays" any how they want.

Also, I don't know how to sign up with Machinima or how it works, because I don't have a video game channel yet.

  • I dont really think a Video Game company would be pissed at people putting gameplay up and monotizing the video, that would encourage users to post more gameplay and advertise the game, I would understand if the game just came out or was leaked though

  • Youtube/Google makes things complicated and vague and it seems like that have double standards. Why cant they just make a statement in writing and or video that settles "the score" once and for all for all to see in plain sight?

Instead we still have people saying "no, you cant" "toby does it though" yea I think you can" "Dont do it" "yes you can do it"

Wtf..... :/ can we get a thumbs up on this comment so someone high up can see? Maybe I overlooked something. We need direction please.

  • @dubtenko

It is allowed, however you need the permission of the Publisher.

Blizzard for example states in their video policy that everyone is allowed to show Blizzard game footage and earn money through a third party partner program.

  • @dubtenko Well, from what Ive read, you MUST have EXPLICIT permission from each and every publisher of the copyrighted content you upload (and here is the big if) IF you want to use it for COMMERCIAL use (e.g. monetize).

IF you dont monetize your clips you should theoretically be okay and your videos can "only" be deleted, but you will not be sued for monetary damages (usually they will settle or order a Cease and Desist).

    Part 1/2

  • Ok so i make Gow3 videos which i do top 5 and regular commentaries over. I dont want to click monetize if i risk getting a copyright strike or a ban or anything because youtube as a hobby means more to me than the money. So can i monetize gow 3 and if so how would i go about it.

  • @OfficialMitchMeister i started a site so people can post ps3 gameplay vids and make money from their walkthroughs. wont have to worry about copyright at all unless the publisher says something directly which i am sure that is non existent. see it on my channel or msg me

  • I understand that microsoft has a game content usage link you can post for any game that is related to microsoft. but i seem to have trouble locating a similar link for activision. most of my channel is made of games from activision and i would like to get them monetized. any help is greatly appreciated

  • I am confused.... I mean I have a couple Animal Crossing videos and I dub over them to try and be funny. It is not a walkthrough and it isn't educational, but other people do it, so is it ok to monetize on it? I would like to try it, but I am afraid YouTube will remove the video.

  • "Videos simply showing a user playing a video game"

Does that including game-relevant commentary or not?

That's my biggest issue with this extremely vague instruction. What is "educational or instructional?" When tobygames freaks out in a video game, he's not being "educational or instructional" but youtube certainly allows him to use video game content. Where is the line drawn?

  • Here's a copy and paste for those too lazy:

This is a video of me giving step-by-step instructions to teach people how to get through (video game title here) AND providing constant commentary on what is occurring onscreen throughout the whole video. This video is exclusively for educational purposes and is all done in fair use.

That should work, it did for me

  • @PictoronGaming You are the hero Gotham deserves, good sir.

  • @PictoronGaming thankyou SOOO MUCH lol

  • @PictoronGaming so along with that did you include links to the license pages of the game you included like in the video?

  • @PictoronGaming Thanks for the copy-paste formula for us lazy bastards. You claimed it did work for you, could you elaborate? You actually monetized clips that contain copyrighted material, e.g., you made real hard cash off of those?

Or did they remove your movies and gave you a "strike"? Because your current channel seems inactive "for some reason" ;)

  • @PictoronGaming I put that on my .Hack LP and it didn't work.. it did for a couple weeks then they sent me a message and took off the monetization or however you spell it :/

  • @1Up4You Same here. They arent accepting my videos too. Even a video I made about diablo 3 and pasted the video legal information saying "you can use this to earn money from youtube". Even so they havent accepted.

  • @Mergulhones Idk hmm I'm thinking of renaming my let's play series a "Walkthrough with live commentary" or something maybe they will realize that it does actually help people with bosses and not me just playing for kicks :/ idk if I find a method I'll send it to you and if you find you send it to me please

  • @1Up4You Sure thing! I will keep looking for that.

  • I'm a little confused on this. I just started gaming videos and they said that I can start revenue sharing. I was so excited! Right now I'm playing Batmnan: Arkham City and I have a few videos of LEGO: Indiana Jones. Does anyone know if it's fine to put these up? I've seen a lot of people put up these games. I have commentary behind it. I just play the games for fun. Please someone get back to me on this.

  • one question I would like to have answered is if Gears of War 3 gameplay can be monetized and if so do any one know the link I can put into the box? also since I do commentaries for my videos do I even need the link? by what she said it almost seems like you don't even need any rights as long as you have a commentary, someone please clear this up for me :p

  • Can anybody tell me, How to claim Performances (including concerts, events and shows) when those performances are captured for education or tutorial purpose??

  • hello youtubers i just also got approved with the monetization as well, and i always do reviews for old school classics and modern classic video games and i don't about monetizing my videos because of all the copyright stuff that's going on does anyone have tips or advice?

  • Ive been reading about all these copyright issues, and i was just wondering if i could monetize a gameplay video that is 5-10minutes long with NO commentary, and a beat produced by my friend which gives me rights to use it, thanks!

  • Anyone know what videogames I can monetize without getting in trouble?

  • @ProdigyWright I'm sure Call of Duty is a big one, famous users like Whiteboy7thst or xJawz have commentaries on those videos and they don't get taken down!

  • Hey everyone I just got approved to earn revenue from my video in other channel I have. My channel is basically tutorials on how to use Windows Vista, do things on the internet such as sending mail to name some examples. I am talking at all times through the videos, so does that mean I don't need to explain anything like they show on this video? or I do, but I don't have direct permission from Microsoft can I still put ads because my videos are educational? I'm so confused please help me!

  • And if you can't find this stuff? I can't find it for UC2 so will it be available in UC3? HELPS

  • Actually on the minecraft website it says you are free to distribute videos soooo

  • @yobobjm and notch it 100% ok with minecraft videos on youtube soooo

  • What is the "minimal" amount of time for videos? 1 minutes? 2 minutes? what

  • Is showing video game/dvd/bluray pickups against the rules for monetization? All I do is show what i've picked up for that week or month. I don't play background music or show gameplay or footage. I just want to be sure before I accept the monetization.

  • @TromaticAddict No, it's not, I've been able to show my anime DVD pickups, as long as you don't show ripped footage from the DVD/Blu-Ray, monetization is okay.

  • bad nore mincrafte is copyrite free don't listen to here

  • Ugh, this is the only thing stopping me from becoming a partner... I need a license from Nintendo and Insomniac Games now... grrreat.

  • The funny thing is.. Minecraft gives their users permission to upload gameplay videos to YouTube.

  • How do you get to Revenue Options in the first place?

  • If you want to monetize a video with writing in notepad filmed with a screen recorder would it be legible? I mean cmon, its notepad.

  • Long story short: any game belonging to EA: don't try and monetise cos apparently it's a no go when it comes to commercial use - which is a shame.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l Okay then tell me how are a lot of the game videos from EA on youtube monetized? Like this one: watch?v=63h5iF9Pk2M

  • @EliTeGaming01 hey, I'm just reading what it says from EA's policy I have asked for permission 2 times and both were denied - here's what it says if you don't believe me:

You may not distribute, publicly perform or display, lease, sell, transmit, transfer, publish, edit, copy, create derivative works from, rent, sub-license, distribute, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise make unauthorized use of Content or Entitlements. Any commercial use is prohibited.

  • @EliTeGaming01 obviously they must be gaining permission elsewhere or know someone in EA because I've tried gaining permission from EA's twice now... they don't even offer me a reason as to why they denied permission - so clearly something fishy is going on, here's the email:

    Dear Mark:

We appreciate your interest in Electronic Arts Inc. and Crysis 2; however, we are unable to authorize your request. Permission Denied.

    Thank you.

  • @EliTeGaming01 I've done exactly the same as everyone else: I asked permission to use their content via their email provided at EA, I've credited the publisher in the video description and even sent them a url to where the video is - I have no idea why I can't gain permission, there's no reason why Crytek can't authorise me otherwise unless EA stops people from posting their content altogether and I'm clearly not seeing any way of monetising anything with the publishing rights of EA.

  • @EliTeGaming01 the terms of service say so - so unless you know of a way to gain permission from crytek or EA do tell, cos clearly I'm getting no-where with this!

  • @EliTeGaming01 out of dumb curiosity I'm going to try and gain permission from Crytek instead of EA... and I'll ask them a reason why I can't monetise the video - and if they then say it violates EA's terms of service then I don't know how other people are monetising their Crysis 2 walkthroughs, I'll post back here if I manage to gain permission.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l Most high subscribed people such as muzzafuzza are under the Machinima network in which Machinima will have an agreement with such companies to use their game content. This means that any person who is under a contract with Machinima ( Most big gamer youtubers are ) then copyright will be taken up with Machinima and not the actual gamer themself. Machinima will most likely pay these companies royalties to allow gamers to upload their videos

  • @rosso5792 that makes sense, altho I don't want to pay royalties just to monetize videos.

  • I have had many of my videos not accepted for monetization despite having instructional/educational value in them. Why?!

  • Does anybody know exactly what link to put in like when she puts the link for the License Terms? Example: Say Fallout walkthrough. Do i simply go to the Fallout official page & find the terms & conditions page & put that link in the description? Or for Photoshop tuts do i go to Adobe PSE & find their legal page? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  • @mrttou You just say that the game was created by *whoever made it*. And explain what it is that you have in the video, like a walkthrough, or commentary with review, etc.

  • @qebiko Yeah, i've got an idea what to put down for my tuts/walkthroughs but i'm just not sure on that whole license terms link. I even tried putting in the link from the vid to see if it would work & use it as a reference but it wasn't valid. Thanks for taking the time to help. ☺

  • @mrttou I think it may be have been refused monetization because of the content of the video, not what you wrote in the license terms. I have quite a few videos that I've used the same license terms in but only some were accepted for monetization. What annoyed me though was that my videos are very similar in it's content, different levels however, but some were monetized, some not.

  • @qebiko I haven't signed up to be a partner yet. I'm looking into what is required before doing it. Trying to decide whether it's worth bothering viewers over. I am currently at this obstacle. I wonder if the reason some get accepted & others don't is due to different people reviewing the videos who have different views as to what is acceptable. If that is the case everyone should be trained on the same page so that there aren't all these inconsistencies. Did your videos get pulled as well?

  • @qebiko I haven't signed up to be a partner yet. I'm looking into what is required before doing it. Trying to decide whether it's worth bothering viewers over. I am currently at this obstacle. If that is the case everyone should be trained on the same page so that there aren't all these inconsistencies. Did your videos get pulled as well?

  • @mrttou Of the 20 or so that I applied for monetization, none got pulled. I have a feeling that it does depend on the person reviewing it. I've only got the ads that appear after 10 seconds because I don't want to bother my viewers with ads that appear before the video.

  • @qebiko yeh I've only applied for one for gameplay footage for my football game - I basically said it was a match against Dale and linked EA's terms for copyright - I'm going to re-read the terms and be sure that it's okay for commercial use. Although, I imagine this comes under the act of fair use or something not all of it is gameplay and it includes some commentary.

However, I feel like youtube isn't telling us enough about what we can do content wise for it to be okay to earn money wise.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l Taken from EA: "Any commercial use is prohibited. You agree not to remove, obscure, or alter copyright, patent, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices affixed to Content. Your rights are subject to your compliance with these Terms of Service as well as any other agreements applicable to the EA Services you are using." Ahhhhh, good thing I can changed my mind about monetisation on that video.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l you know it's things like this they should make more clear: I thought it was under content, so yeh my bad for not reading it properly too bad I can't earn money from those videos. On the other hand, non-commercial use is okay tho so I'm fine with that.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l That is peculiar as it was your football match. I do think you're right, Youtube aren't telling us enough about videos and monetization. My concern though lies in the 'your video wasn't accepted for monetization' area. They just say 'read our guidelines' and I do but I can't find anything to suggest why my video wasn't accepted for monetization. It's frustrating as I want to make sure the rest of a particular series (about another 50 videos or so) will be monetized.

  • @qebiko EA apparently doesn't allow their content to be used commercially according to their terms and conditions I'm kinda frustrated too... I only just got it the other day you see and I'm learning the ropes - I ended up just getting rid of the monetisation on the video it was quick and painless (next time I'll read more carefully but I think they're taking a while to process my videos anyway for monetization). No worries here! But yes, not much telling you whether you can or cannot monetize.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l How long does it take for one of your videos to monetize? For me, it's anything between 6-18 hours I reckon and I think that's about the same for most other videos too. And that's a pain from EA. Believe me, I'm still learning the ropes myself!

  • @qebiko I think they are monotising now... although I'll stay clear of the stuff I'm unsure about, Ads have appeared on some of my videos so I presume they are monotised now... I'd say they take a while to monotize tho... I had to wait a bit for them to appear (not sure really)

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l Ah right ok. All the best with your monetized videos.

  • @mrttou I wanna know too.

  • @YoWhatUpMike If i get a clear answer i'll let you know.

  • here's what i wanna know. why the heck do new accounts get to have the ability to uoload longer than 15 minutes while my account which is almost 4 years old and have over 3k subscribers still stuck at 15 minute limit! i want to go over 15 damn it!

  • @Natural8o8Reborn same here man mine is still stuck on 15 mins :( i created a new account now and over 1mins lifted

  • @Natural8o8Reborn All YouTube users that have not uploaded copyrighted material can upload videos over 15 min if you have not uploaded copyrighted material to upload videos more than 15 min got to YouTube(dot)com/account_manage If it then says:

    Account Status: Community Guidelines

Your account is in good standing

    Account Status: Copyright

Your account is in good standing

  • @Mainline421 i had all good standings except a few videos that wasnt really causing strikes just blocked in germany. so i went through the videos and 2 of um was blocked world wide. once i removed those 2 (which was so painful to do) it gave me the ability to upload longer than 15 minutes. i also deleted a video that was age restricted even though it did not contain any nudity at all just import car models in bikini's

  • @Natural8o8Reborn There is a help center article that can answer this question. I will send it to you via PM

  • I don't get it. Can somone reply ASAP please, say I was doing a commentary, but while doing so, I was sort of teaching people how to go along with it, so it was like, a joint commentary and tutorial (Ex, if it's minecraft, we'd explain each crafting recipe, and give tips and stuff)?

I'm confused by the extended use bit. Does that only apply if it's not educational?

  • What about machinima movies?

they are not direct gameplay, are those allowed?

  • So I have walkthoughs of Fable 3 and Dragon Age 2, how do I get the link what do I have to look for on the site :( PLZ HELP

  • @FallenRaeLi21 to get the link, you have to be invited to monetize your video by youtube, or you have to be a youtube partner. (invitation is automatic, and there's no way to show or ask youtube to invite you.)

  • @greenflams I'm talking about the copyright links for the Fable and Dragon Age games. I already have monetize it's just I want to do this right without them taking my videos down.

  • @FallenRaeLi21 Not sure about Fable 3 but Dragon Age 2 YOU CAN'T monetize: EA and/or Bioware wanted their game spoiler free or something: the only Dragon Age 2 gameplay out there which has adverts are demo gameplay (meaning pre-release stuff). Funny how youtube tell us to do all the legwork when it comes to monetization when they don't tell us where abouts to look in the terms of service =S. I know in future to ctrl + f the word: "commercial" then I can read the important bit.

  • @FallenRaeLi21 Well actually: GhostRobo, someone I looked up on youtube has managed to get his gameplay monetised but I'm not sure how... gosh this youtube business is confusing! Where's the legal information when you need it?

I'm guessing he has emailed someone who works for Bioware... I'm thinking I should just try and email some people in the gaming industry or something - I think I'm just going to monetise the things I know that I can monetize without problems =/

  • So I'm doing a Spore LP and I got offered Revenue Sharing. (I haven't applied yet) I know if my video is rejected, it might be deleted. Could I re upload it and try for Sharing again later?
