  • What a beast she is ;)

  • my name is earl directed me here. :) trans am is a beauty of a car

  • I would make love to that car...

  • As much as I love this Trans-Am, I will never be Burt Reynolds. :-(

  • pontiac sold the trans am to make the movie for only a dollar.

  • This was put together very well, got my heart goin a lil bit.....Alot of the scenes filmed look a bit hollywood , but the Transam actually handled as well as ya see it in the movie...they are amazing to drive and hold the road like glue, but by 1977 they lacked that muscle car power, not that ya cant fix that problem lol, fuckin EPA pollution regulations killed the power on these cars

  • I've got that song as a ringtone, "East Bound and Down".

  • This part where he pulls that Black Beautiful Trans-Am out just put the rest of the movie into perspective. Just love that seen. It made history.

  • My 4 year old the other day.. "Why does the man slide the car everywhere" - Me "Duh, cause hes the Bandit"..

  • there were so many bluelights (kojak cars) in this movie you could park them in a garage, close the door and have a disco.

  • That was cool :)

  • At 0:24 you can see how many times that slide was practised in that same spot, haha.

  • Thumbs up if YAHOO! News brought you here!! :))

  • I remember watching this movie at the drive-ins with my friends.

  • 400 cu in (6.6 L) Pontiac V8 200 hp at the crank. hahahaha. lol. (:>)

  • For educated people only. Was the engine a 440?

  • @caddop22 no a 440 is a Mopar motor (Dodge) the Tras am is a ponatic Built by GM (Chevy)

  • fk off yankeee union bastards

  • @blklab32 What is it with you southern redneck dickheads that obsess about the civil war. It ended a very long time ago but yet you still call us "yankees" and "the union". Just face it, you guys lost. "The south will rise again"....yeah, whatever the fuck that means.

  • The Pontiac Trans Am is in the new 'Driver: San Francisco' game complete with eagle and gold trim.

  • @McSuperfly101 my fav one is the 75 :D

  • With all the remakes coming through Hollywood, you would think that a re-creation of the Smokey and the Bandit might have made some noise. Might be worth a look with all the car fans out there and maybe they could use the new Year One Ban III as the Bandit's new ride!!!!

  • Tres belle voiture et un mythe pour l'AMERIQUE

  • First time i ever saw this movie I thought Pontiac Trans Am's must be the strongest damn cars ever built to go through all that, I was just a little kid...

  • IVE JUST RELIVED SOMETHING THE BRIDGE WAS IN DUKES OF HAZARD TOO

  • 1:05 is one of the nastiest burnouts in film history.

  • @jet79637 I Love that Burnout. 2:17-2:25 is my Favorite Burnout. 0:10 is another really good one.

  • nice.

  • pontiac are liars 220 hp for the trans am special edition my ass

  • That cracker Jerry Reed got off with that song. Now that's a classic hit

  • sally field was a fox back then haha

  • fuckin bullshit they make that many people wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

  • @redmr2na uhh what?

  • @sk8erfreak9242 I was commenting to someone else's comment about how Pontiac is no longer in business, because they did make some good cars, the Trans Am among them. Buick however was kept alive for no real reason. Buicks are for the ederly and even the new ones still not really youthfully focused.

  • @redmr2na oh i was like 'are you shitting me?' haha but thats true

  • How could GM kill off a company that made a car so great, that they used in a purely all american movie like Smokey and the Bandit. Yet they kept Buick, a company that makes geritol mobiles for the elderly. Fuck GM, kill off Buick and bring Pontiac back for cripes sakes. Pontiac has probably made more money for them historically with T/As, GTOs, Firebirds, Bonnevilles, Grand Prixs, and Grand AMs, then Buick has made with their fuckin Park Avenues, and Shitty Skylarks, and all the rest of the

  • Burt sure can drive!

  • wish we can drive like that but people now a days fuckin drive slow

  • great vid wish someone would post snoman taking over into the fairgrounds man that's cletus bad ass!!!!

  • sounds better than boniva

  • Great job! Awesome video!

  • This was back when they made real movies with REAL stunts, and not some CGI bullshit. Everything you saw back then was actually performed by a live human being exhibiting extraordinary skills vs. today's movies where you can't actually tell what's real and what's not. That's why these older movies are so damn great, because you knew there was a *real* risk being taken here.

  • watseka theatre watseka illinois summer 2011 country music concert series;

  • This stunt driver is a maniac.

  • Great ass car....... But I'll still take a 70 chevelle 454 SS any day

  • I bet Burt still has his car.

  • Honey Hush!!

  • I wonder how many Trans Ams they sold because of these movies. Damn that car was a fucking beast.

  • @RightWingHunter666 No doubt helped the sales!

  • SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT is noe of the best movies ever made the car is so badass 77- TRANS AM is a badass car and will beat most cars these day and the bert reynold edition trans am will really get you where you neeed to go

  • god how many of these beautiful cars did they destroy....such a shame...makes you want to go buy one right now doesnt it!

  • @smcombs100 There were 3 Special Edition Trans Ams and 2 of the Bonnevilles (Buford's car). They were all donated by Pontiac. One TA was totalled doing the Bridge jump. By the end of the flick, one of each was barely running.

  • @dhutchinson86 Well at least Buford T Justice had one car left after he ripped the beacons off the other

  • @dhutchinson86 They were still Pontiacs at the end of the day, weather they ran good or not. Pontiac is the best thing about GM.

  • @1BlubeTube and then to think GM dropped the whole line, what a shame! and they wonder why they need a bailout? they stopped making two of their best selling cars. and wasn't till they brought one back. it help them get their heads out of the water. But just imagine if they would of brought back the T/A. it was legendary! how could they kill that line of fine automobile? and why?

  • @RANS87IROCZ Thats the point, GM has no commonsence.

  • @1BlubeTube thats why im a ford man. anyway the new gto was just a rebadged holden commodore [dunnydore] v8. same with the new chev caprice.

  • that chick has a nice ass

  • if they ever remake this movie they should use a shelby gt500 instead of a transam or camaro.

  • @caqefiqhter you should go fuck yourself. transams will beat mustangs any day fag

  • @Gpup4Lifez Mustangs get a lot of flak for some reason I notice. If it isn't the Bullitt conversation that never ends (Mustang ain't got nothing on a Challenger) it's the Trans Am vs a Mustang.

  • @alekesam interesting point you have there. stock trans ams (77 trans ams) have about 210 hp but what does the 67 mustang have? i never found out

  • @kungfu088 V8? 300-325hp. But this is kinda silly to go into if we don't go into specific makes. You can't just arbitrarily say "transams will beat mustangs any day of the week fag" because a particular year can be better than another's year.

  • @alekesam that is very true but perhaps by comparing the pros and cons of particular years we can come to better understanding of the differences between the two cars. and i should retract my previous post i made a mistake a stock 77 trasns am with a 403 V8 oldsmobile puts out 185 hp as opposed to the 210 i said earlier

  • @kungfu088 Cool.

  • That car has tiger blood for antifreeze, and adonis dna mixed in the gas.

  • Is there really only 3:35 of actual driving out of the entire movie? And people call this a car movie?

  • @alekesam thats not true theres more than three minutes of driving. the majority of the movie is set in the car trust me

  • @kungfu088 Oh okay. I've never seen it so I wouldn't know. I made that comment based on the video.

  • Waar is dat, Texas?

  • @10Davidinho- Not sure where it all was filmed, but it depicts Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and possibly Louisiana. Texarkana is on the border of Texas and Arkansas, so no need to go to Texas, at least in the story.

BTW I'd *LOVE* to see just how beat-up and destroyed the car would be if all those chases/stunts/etc. had been done with one unmodified car as depicted. Thank goodness for movie magic! :)

  • @10Davidinho yes mam

  • Love this movie.

    Love trans ams.

This movie is on netflix by the way

  • I love this video! Thanks for sharing! I had to stop in again!

  • its a Trans am Jeep :))

  • The fact that the song "West Bound and Down" came on after they were already eastbound was dumb. You should have played "East Bound and Down"

  • Music was almost all the way up. My point being, it scared the shit out of me.

  • You dont see these kinds of movies nowadays, expecially cars like these.

  • Since I was a kid my fav scene is getting 2nd gear rubber after picking up the bride. My 2nd fav is the highway scene where he locks it up and cutts right. You can see the right rear come off the ground a couple of times then up in smoke instantly.

  • If the trans am goes in faster, it will travel back in time

  • like my driving skills

  • watching this I have an urge to grow a moustache buy a cowboy hat and drive my mustang past some smokeys creating a huge car chase on the TV... (and yes I know the car in the film is a trans am, but I donät own one so I had to use something I drove...)

  • anybody ever notice when they use the C.B radios in the smokey and the bandit films there not acctually useing the C.B antennas on the cars and trucks it's just a little 7 or 8 inch piece of very thin wire solderd onto a PL259 has anybody seen this so the antennas on the cars trucks and stuff are just there to mimic like there useing a C.B radio antenna I got on to this a wile ago has anybody seen this as I've said or agree with me on this point Just wondering that was all.

  • @helraiser666painkil that is actually the police scanner not the cb radio your refering to

  • I love this movie but can someone tell me did burt do any of the stunt work driving other than @1:38 I know that wasn him jumping the bridge. Thanks

  • @TRANSAM19777 From everything I have learned from the movie, and Burt's relationship with Hal Needham(the director), I doubt it. They were college roomates, and Hal was a stunt man as Burt became a movie star. Burt agreed to do this movie for Hal as a one time shot to get Hal out of killing his body as a stunt man and make him famous. No way Hal was gonna let Burt hurt himself. It worked out pretty good! Hal directed the Cannonball Run After Smokey was the 2nd biggest movie behind Star Wars!

  • @TRANSAM19777 I always was under the impression that he did the majority of the driving. I'm no pro and can't give you instances.

  • Haha before i even heard of this i named my dog Bandet and my hamster Snokey :P

  • J'adore cette voiture!

  • KIT is jealous of this movie

  • damn she took a beating lol

  • sweet jesus what the fuck is holding that thing to the road.

  • @freddysthedevil a cowboy hat and a mustache

  • @TRANSAM19777 hhahhahaha

  • All T/A's have posi

  • @3fan4nascar

    Thx

  • @meangreen69Nova

Did the T/A have posi traction or did it just for this movie? I am curious now!!!

  • ok the car is badass, but i love the truck

  • There's no engine under the hood of that car...there a 100 lions roaring in a thunderstorm.

  • makes u wonder but this guy could drift the shit out of that trans am

  • I love this trans am!!!!!XD I watched the movie about a month ago. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!XD

Excuus mijn duitse Ik woon in Amerika en ik ben een beetje roestig For everyone who can't read this, use an online translator.

  • @TrishaDishaWarEagle except for the Bandit and Snowman :D

  • @MrXleader

yeah well, if they had cremated the sumbitch, Buford would be kicking mr bandits ass around the moon by now :)

  • @TrishaDishaWarEagle he is just a Texas bubble-gum machine ;)

  • @MrXleader Looks like Buford T. Justice made 9 accounts to dislike with !

  • @Hurley03 thats are his brothers from part 2 and his son and each made like 2 or 3 accounts :'(!

  • Brilliant! The car was the star with this film and I learnt to drive thinking that was how it was done!

  • I wonder who has this car. I have a few birds but damn, how cool would it be to have this car with the movie engine. I have an old mag that showed the shop where it was built and (I'd have to find the mag for spacifics) that it was a 455 and roller rockers is all that I remember.

  • One of the best car guy movies.

  • Me Ma used to have a Trans Am exactly like that. Wrecked it one mega foggy morning taking me to elementary school. A guy in a truck hit us (Douche had his headlights off) and it crumpled it like it was made out of tin foil lol. But man did it fly!

  • Damn, the Ojai Frosty, best burgers, tacos and corn burritos in the west, not to mention dipped cones!!! I wish it was still there. I miss my home town, but it has gotten too LA!!! I know, YOU know what I mean! Long live the Ojai Frosty, if even in the movies! Eric, from Discanso street behind TG&Y. Ok there, I dated myself!!! I miss my home!!! The way it was at least, where families got to to be with each other on the weekends, for parks and picnics. What has the world become since I was a kid

  • i cant wait to pull 1:05 in mine and 1:16 thats gonna be fun ;)

  • Olds 403 was *not* a big block, it was a small block. Pontiac 400 and 455 were not big blocks either, Pontiac didn't have small block and big block like Chevy. 403 Olds was mandatory in all California TAs from 1977 to 1979 and never came with a manual trans. Last year of 400 Pontiac was 1978. About 20k 400 engines were saved over for the 1979 production year and when they ran out the 403 filled in. Pontiac never used a 455 Olds in any TA. Last Pontiac 455 offered was in 1976.

  • @houseofbroke yes pontic did it was a gm engine 403 was a buick engine .. again the 455 ho was made by pontiac i have a 75 with a 455 and my 77 has a 403 ,, yes it was a cali engine but i also bought a cali car with a 400 before the law was passed , and most of the cars i ve bought and sold have had 400 in them the manule trans was a option in those days

  • @rfbjr I was wrong, it was only about 10k Pontiac built 400s which were saved over from 1978 to 1979. 403 was an Oldsmobile built engine, not Buick. Pontiac used 455s in their TAs but they were all Pontiac built 455s, not Buick, not Oldsmobile. The last 455 in a factory TA was the same motor used that year in the Pontiac station wagon. If you can show me where the 403 was a Buick engine, please do but if you go to any parts store and ask for parts for a Buick 403 they'll look at you funny.

  • @houseofbroke I MIGHT HAVE GOT IT BACKWARDS BUT , I HAD 403 IN MY TA HATED THAT FUCKING MOTOR GUT LESS

  • The coolest movie ever made....

  • Best....movie...ever.

  • but it wasnt till 1979 they started coming with the olds 403 big block

  • saw this movie for the first time today..... i want that trans am :'( lmaoo

  • "Snowman" rules!

  • wander how many tires they went through
