Hondas will just barely get into 10's with that much because of traction. Take a old 5.0 mustang, slap a turbo on the stock motor, built stock rear end, get clutch/drive shaft and run 9's. I'm not even going to get into reliability. Once you build a few you'll know the truth with reliability.

ok the thing that your missing is the fact that those are 2 different engines, completely different combinations, yes they are both 4 cylinders but they dont have the same camshafts, combustion chambers, stroke length, valves etc... shit, even changing the valve springs would change the way the engine runs... still, there is no replacement for displacement...
when you put a turbo or supercharger on an engine, your forcing it to take in more atmosphere, artificially increasing the cubic capacity of the engine. your making the engine "bigger" to make more power, that is all im saying, small motors make power yes, bigger motors make more power. although EVERY engine has its own combination, some are built for high horsepower some are built for high torque... many variations come into play but ultimately, no substitute for cubes when you want POWER!

HP/L is something to sit there and brag about, its not a useless measurement. it doesnt prove anything about an engines performance.
Example for the ignorant:
A honda motor that revs to 9k is going to make good hp/l becuase all hp is is torque*rpm/5252. the more rpm, the more hp unless the torque falls off. A turbo diesel that revs to 3500 rpm is going to have horrible hp/l ratings, but in the same weight car it would kill the honda motor.

RWD has proven to have infinitely more potential than FWD on a circuit (look at F1). But you can't say FWD is horrible on the circuit, that's just dumb. bullshit. for example. lets take the Mustang SVO. a 4cyl 2.3L turbo. with 14lbs of boost it makes 175 crank hp. On the other hand you have my 05-08 toyota corolla. 4cyl 1.8L, which i have put a turbo on, pushing only 8lbs of boost and i make over 200 whp. ...lets recap
the SVO has .5 MORE liters, is pushing 6 MORE pounds of boost, and make at least 50 LESS horsepower. displacement doen't mean shit if you don't have the heads to support it.

ok the thing that your missing is the fact that those are 2 different engines, completely different combinations, yes they are both 4 cylinders but they dont have the same camshafts, combustion chambers, stroke length, valves etc... shit, even changing the valve springs would change the way the engine runs... still, there is no replacement for displacement...

when you put a turbo or supercharger on an engine, your forcing it to take in more atmosphere, artificially increasing the cubic capacity of the engine. your making the engine "bigger" to make more power, that is all im saying, small motors make power yes, bigger motors make more power. although EVERY engine has its own combination, some are built for high horsepower some are built for high torque... many variations come into play but ultimately, no substitute for cubes when you want POWER!

the best example of the flaw is formula1 engines, which proves that technology is the replacement for displacement. they make well over 800hp with a 3L engine. thats over 267hp/liter. Much more then any other car can. and a majority of formula one cars are imports. show me an N/A car anywhere that can touch them.

Technology is not a replacement. Nothing is. F1 could use a big 10 liter motor but not only would it weigh the car down ALOT, but also they have restictions. and they probably wouldn't be revving to 19k rpm because of the greater centrifugal force of the rotating assembly.

yea there is dude, its called volumetric efficiency, u show me a stock domestic muscle that makes more then 100hp per litre and thats cheap enough for the everyday person to drive. power is power man regardless of how its build, who built it or how big the engine is. you can have the biggest block around with the highest compression, but without a free flowing head it wont do shit. intake and exhaust flow make power, not how big the engine is, remember that.

Why is everyone always fighting when it comes to how many cylinders you have.
You pick a base, wether 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 1000000000, it is still an engine.
Do what's right and it will make your plenty of power. Of course the less cylinders you have, the less power you can make overall. But if you're having fun. That's all that matters.
I drive a 600whp AWD 2.4L 4cyl and I have plenty of fun racing all types of different numbered cylinder cars.
I don't make fun of them, even if I win.
