@Vortex93 It isn't a gaming card, it's a professional rendering card for things like 3D, CAD, graphic design, medical imagine, engineering simulation and video processing. They're optimised for those kind of things, and it's often the case that you'll have an entire workstation with one (or several) of these kind of cards in them with drivers written specifically for the task of say JUST running Maya, or JUST running AVID or NUKE or something (the entire rig will me devoted to that one task).

Actually the most important thing to say is the resolution. I can run crysis everything maxed out and AA8 AF16 with my integred HD3200. Oh and I forgot to say the resolution : 320*240 @256 colours.
@phpforthewin its a workstation card designed for running lots and lots of numbers in 3d applications like 3ds studio max smoothly. video cards like the gtx series cards use stream processors to render textures and models in real time. they are 2 completely different kinds of cards.

This is a mobile workstation card (fx570m), it is comparable to the mobile 8600gts/gs because it's based on it, and it's over ati's hd3850m as games and benchmarks.
This card has it's special drivers, written to improve openGL and dcc rendering, but you can find a geforce driver if you want to play things like Crysis.
Thanks for posting this video. I have considered getting quadros for years. As most people's advice is complete crap. I ignore them and use dual 3.8 xeons, ecc ram even 4, 15k scsis . But the 9800gtx runs crysis on my rig at 3840X1024 and medium/high settings and looks so much better than this video. I am so glad I never got the quadro.

No i'm not gonna copy and paste most of the comments like most of the zombies here did saying things like: it sucks, a geforce is better, quadro is not for gaming etc.
Anyway, it's kind of hard to show in youtube how a game really looks a plays in our home. I needs a good capturing sw/hw and a good video encoding and/or conversion. In that process quality gets lost and sometimes really good making absolutely no justice to the original or to the live play at all. [...]

Did you ever try to change the drivers? Like installing geforce drivers or something like that? I'm only curious if it would work. Maybe it's not that simple I dunno... Anyone tried? We use QuadroFX 480's at my school for 3DS Max/Maya/Revit/Inventor/AutoCAD. Combined with Xeon processors, rendering works really well.

dude your card sucks, i like SimplyCarLo's idea. I ordered a 580 sc evga 2 days ago from newegg and just got it, but i cant build my rig yet because i need the other hardware components that i ordered from amazon and i dont get those until next week. (asus rampage iii extreme, intel core i7 950, 1200ax corsari psu, and i already have my corsair dominator 1800 8gb RAM cards so i'll b set to make some crazy stuff in maya, wish me luck! Actually the most important thing to say is the resolution. I can run crysis everything maxed out and AA8 AF16 with my integred HD3200. Oh and I forgot to say the resolution : 320*240 @256 colours.

Reason why this is laggy its because nvidia made sure that in the Quadro FX series that they would limit the frame rate on purpose

@phpforthewin its a workstation card designed for running lots and lots of numbers in 3d applications like 3ds studio max smoothly. video cards like the gtx series cards use stream processors to render textures and models in real time. they are 2 completely different kinds of cards.

This is a mobile workstation card (fx570m), it is comparable to the mobile 8600gts/gs because it's based on it, and it's over ati's hd3850m as games and benchmarks.
This card has it's special drivers, written to improve openGL and dcc rendering, but you can find a geforce driver if you want to play things like Crysis.

when I don't use fraps it was around 30 - 35, when I used fraps to record, it dropped to about 20 -25

Thanks for posting this video. I have considered getting quadros for years. As most people's advice is complete crap. I ignore them and use dual 3.8 xeons, ecc ram even 4, 15k scsis . But the 9800gtx runs crysis on my rig at 3840X1024 and medium/high settings and looks so much better than this video. I am so glad I never got the quadro.

Lol, phew that clears up some things, so its not really for gaming, but you got your model for free, was looking for new 5570Ati price to buy soon for crysis etc, then came across a quadro fx5800 4gig, looked @ price and was like "For gaming?" nearly £3000 get the fu** outta here lol.

theirs a ton of games that use open gl, ive heard they are just alot slower cause they use a different type of gpu engine for their computing.

Lmao! Quadro FXs are workstation cards guy. It's not for gaming. They're for making games not playing games. Same goes for the ATI FirePro and FireGL. Stick with the Radeon and the GTXs...
