So funny...so I was sitting here watching this fabulous video because I love Hawkshaws dress and when I got to the part where she throws the knife I thought "thats the Great Salt Lake on the right with Utah Lake, Happy Valley, and the Wasatch Mountains on the left!" Then it dawned on me that I recognized all of it. That this video was done in Highland. I am not at all a Utah fan, but I am one of Sleepthiefs most devoted fans. Love this music!!

Whilst I find the person calling the singer a "slut" a bit distasteful I do have to say I think the production on the track is a bit overwrought with an excess of instrumentation and the fact that the video needs to be explained defeats the purpose. It's like they say about a joke, it's not funny if you have to explain it. The song it's self is a poem based on the film The Night Porter and the original had a kink factor to it based on the S&M scene. This just seems amaturish.

The one in blue is Kirsty Hawkshaw (the actual singer). The one in red is model/singer Jillian Ann. The concept is that they are actually the same person but with a split personality. This is revealed at the end when Kirsty and Jillian "merge"

Decent Duran cover. This one sort of softens it and turns the song a little dreamy. The Deftones version is an earthy, "human" take on it. You have to defer to the original version to get exquisite cruelty of the song. It almost sounds like it was born of ice. (Sends shivers down the spine!)

ok, guess i understand...this is the wife and the lover story...as they discoverd that HE is betrayling , the lover kills and the wife goes incommon with his . This is pointed , when she use the chauffeur to throw the knife away, which his former female lover loses in that bathroom that they both were betrayled, makes them com into one. and both a new similar person. simple story at least.

To clarify-the woman in red is the split-personality of the woman in blue. The woman in blue just imagines she sees her lover cheating on her. She kills him. You'll notice in the car that the woman in blue is alone when she throws the knife, but the woman in red is in the car when she gets back in. At the end, the two merge and you realize they are the same person.

The video does catch the attention; and Kirsty is amazing with a haunting lilt to her voice and the gray eyes that seems to build an aura of mystery since the moment she steps on the screen!

And I caught on the split personality by the mid way when Jillian Ann walks out with blood on her wrist... but the only thing that baffles me, if Justin is murdered by the knife Kirsty has in her evening purse; then how is it that he is the same person driving the car?

Actually, the original album version has a breakbeat percussion. When Israel and I did the Psychosomatic Redux, I wanted to have something a bit more "steady" for the video version. Americans don't get breakbeat music much and this remix has a darker, more straight-forward beat.
