Real solution is not to abolish FED (which is step in right direction but not sufficient for long term prosperity) but to abolish governments monopoly over money creation and soon thereafter abolish MONOPOLY over law, courts and defense which should be obvious today that they don't serve taxpayers but their real customers - corporations that use them and buy themselves favors at expense of taxpayers.
Inflation is not stealing because nobody owns value of it's belongings - only it's physical manifestation. Paper money originally was just receipt for some kind of commodity - usually metal. I think Ron Paul is a shill. I voted for him for president last election and believed in him wholeheartedly. But there is one thing he says in this that makes one think. He mentions ending the fed at 11:57 they just mention introducing legislation to curtail the FED's money printing policies. At 13:00 he mentions taking out the FED is to "drastic". What gives, if you really follow what Dr. Paul has been touting since his run in 1984, he has always stated he wanted to END THE FED....

I think it's important to realize that ending the Fed is only the first step in changing how currency is issued. When the Fed is stripped of their power, some organization will have to take its place in issuing currency, ideally the Treasury. But I agree with Paul, it would be disruptive to repeal the Federal Reserve Act without having a plan for something to replace it.

Real solution is not to abolish FED (which is step in right direction but not sufficient for long term prosperity) but to abolish governments monopoly over money creation and soon thereafter abolish MONOPOLY over law, courts and defense which should be obvious today that they don't serve taxpayers but their real customers - corporations that use them and buy themselves favors at expense of taxpayers.

Inflation is not stealing because nobody owns value of it's belongings - only it's physical manifestation. Paper money originally was just receipt for some kind of commodity - usually metal. Printing money without any backing whatsoever and claiming its real value is its nominal value is classical example of fraud called counterfeiting. People accepted paper money without any backing whatsoever though so they are mostly to blame for their stupidity. Politicians just took advantage of it.
