Scrunchie is used to mute any open string sound when doing fast tapping etc...some people say it's cheating, but when guy like Greg Howe etc etc use them to great affect, I know these guys don't NEED it, just want to use it for one reason or another!

@treblemid Hi there, thanks for the quesion, if your referring to what looks like a Capo on the guitar in this video it isnt any type of Capo, its just a regular hair tie which stops unwanted ring outs of strings. We use one on the shredding here so you guys can hear all the notes for educational purposes. Andy can play without it - he just prefers to give you guys the best chance at hearing the notes his shredding. Hope that helps - if Andy uses a capo on any tracks will ask him which he uses.
