  • Run for 45 minutes? I'm running inept... my dog runs on my treadmill more than I do....

  • I run between 9 and 15 kms each time i go to the gym, which is 4 times a week. Ignore this mong, build yourself up at your own speed until you are fit. That's what i did.

  • 45 MINUTES!!!??? Man... I can barely run for 10 minutes...

  • what kinda food should i eat before i work out,so i dont feel bloated? i dont want to go on a empty stomach. advice anyone?

  • google it i'm sure you'll find something.... advisable.... good luck!!!

  • porridge, wait about an hour to let the food to go down

  • @dbsshadow lean meats, vegetables, and egg whites

  • @dbsshadow eat oatmeal it will make you feel full

  • @dbsshadow Eating a bananna is what i have been told is the best food before going for a run and so far its working good for me

  • why 4 days a week? ACSM suggest a minimum of 3 days at 30 mins a session so why not build up from there.... telling people to start at a minimum of 4 sessions a week at 45 mins a time is not going to work for 90% of the population, it will just cause people to relapse back into a sedentry lifestyle after a few weeks as there is too big a change and no gradual progression in their plan... regular small changes make a bigger difference in the long run than one big change

  • thanks for posting, very useful.

  • well my guess ... beacuse im in the same boat.. i have 2 run 2 miles in 17 min 30 sec.. not there yet :(.. the way im gonna try and do it is, i am going to run on the tread mill fast enough to reach my goal.... after i have met my time/distance goal on the treadmill .. ill slow the speed down and continue running. i can meet my goal on the tread mill just not at the track.. :(

  • I run at 7 mph and im sorry but theres no way i could run that for 45 minutes because i have to be able to run the mile and a half under 12 minutes, and 7 mph isnt even fast enough as it is. any tips on how fast you run for these 45-hour runs?

  • I Brake the time up with fast/med/slow

    first 2 mins... 5.5

    4 mins 6.0

    6 mins 6.5

    8 mins 7.0

    10 mins 7.5

    12 mins 8.0

than i go down... or i start at 5.5 again... depends how i heel.. i do that for 3 miles.. after that slow 5. till i get to 30 mins.. than i walk for .25 at 4.0.... this improved my time alot.... good luck
