shad is a musical genius he doesnt need to spread violence and drugs in his raps to make them famous lets spread the word and give this man the credit he deserves if lil wayne is famous then shad sure as hell should be
This song is unreal good, i cant wait untill Shad finishs the music he is making with Dalas green from Alexisonfire. i cant even imagine how good its going to be
@Tarasove1 is there a site I can find them? or a site talkig about them working together. Two of my fav artists together at last, im pre creaming already.
@Tarasove1 fuck are you serious? honestly like two of my favorite artists of all time they are working on an album together? i couldn't even imagine what they could make
who is responsible for the sample in the beginning "i don't like to start verses with i"? i know i've heard of it before, i just can't pin it on anything...
Shad is the fucking man! As soon as I heard the old prince still lives at home years back I can't stop following this Canadian legend. Not only does he blow every other rapper outta the water but his lyrics mean something.
@resteep lolll good luck with that buddy... don't know how you can call this "hipster" but ok. is it because there's a guitar? cause that don't make it hipster.
@adamenti Good luck with what? No, its not the guitar at all. It's just my own interpretation of the production on this song, and many others on this album. I don't know too much about the producers (does shad produce his own stuff?, i guess i could look it up...) but its too busy and tin-y for my taste. Maybe hipster isnt the right term, but it explains it my mind.
I like that wide open, boom bap sorta hip hop. He had more of that on his past albums, imo.
@resteep the production on this song is nail on the head IMO. very raw and energetic; perfect for the lyrics. sample, loops, cuts and everything are on point.
I admit that on the album there is sometimes a feeling that the lyrics and the rhythm of the beast are mismatched. I think this is due largely to Shad's unique rhyming style but top points to the man for being so adventurous and creative.
Shad is one of the best hip hop artists out there now a days - there is no doubt about that.
youre asking for bland production and called the production on this album hipster? hahaha wtf your opinion should lose all credibility after a dumb comment like that
@itzFundamental oh. Well, thank you for telling me why your opinion is more valid than mine. You are truly a beacon of hope and enlightenment. Best to you in your endeavors.
Shad is definitely a top 5 lyricist. One of the best of our generation

I wish his production wasnt so high pitched, tinny beats. It takes away from his lyrical abilities. He needs more room to breath.

@resteep this is the only song where that happens
blader4everbiach 1 year ago
@blader4everbiach No, I found most of the songs on this album to be that way. IT feels too 'hipster' to me, if that makes any sense.
hes a great rapper, i just dont understand the overly-busy production. I'd like to hear some of this album remixed with more spacious beats.
