You can meet Eddy whenever he comes here to the US. All you have to do is get your timing right and purchase a bike from one of the dealers that he visits occasionally. This particular dealer advertised for months that Eddy was coming to the shop and they had a sign up list for people that wanted to buy a new Merckx bike and wanted to have him sign it or come to meet him. There were only a very limited number of openings available for people who just wanted to meet Eddy and didn't want to buy

That's ok, I think most bike geeks (including myself) would have the same reaction to meeting Eddy.
