I am so inspired by this. I was a vegetarian before watching, but now I am taking a closer look at what I eat. I ate fish, so what? They weren't raised sitting in their own sh*t just to be killed, but they are still dying so I can eat them when I am when I could be fulfilling ALL my dietary needs with plants. And on the issue of gelatin: It may not be meat, but an animal stilled died, just so I could have this one s'more? Is that really worth it? Thank you so much, I love all of your videos.

I never use religion to justify eating meat. I thought about it for a while and I finally thought you can never really know if it is right or wrong to eat an animal and end it's life.

The meat industry is very different here......I don´t know about America but in Austria animals are NOT decapitated. The animals aren't suffering. Sure there are some places that abuse them but it isn't very common. Besides the animals are killed quickly to reduce suffering. Also they have a pretty good life, food everyday, shelter, and people to look after them. Isn't this what we all want?
Can a "typical" vegetarian grow enough plants to sustain his/her life in their own personal garden, year round? No...obviously not. So...Fossil fuels, toxic chemicals (ie fertilizers, bug sprays, etc), and so on, must be used, in huge quantities, to support this lifestyle. The effects of these things on our environment are well proven and documented. By this mind set, any predator in the wild is evil. He should tell his cats to quite torturing smaller animals....

Theoretical life is a useless concept. It's the rallying call of the pro-lifers. If you do not breed animals with the intended purpose of killing them - often after enduring lives of intense suffering - and you're able to help the environment while doing so, then yes; I would say stop artificial breeding. We only need to protect animals assigned to our care from cruelty and harm when they are alive.

While plants do not have a "brain" in the sense we understand one (not being animals), they are quite aware of what is going on around them, and a number of studies have explored this in depth (see "The Secret Life of Plants")...and while plants are sessile, they move quite a bit, they just move more slowly than our perception can measure, as any stop motion film of plants will demonstrate.

And for the record I believe that some animals, such as cats dogs etc.. for pets do have souls, but others, that are meant for our FOOD do not.

The animals aren't suffering. Sure there are some places that abuse them but it isn't very common. Besides the animals are killed quickly to reduce suffering. So I don't think you should complain about people eating meat at all because you believe that it's just horrible when it's actually not. If left alone these animals would overpopulate and starve. Also they have a pretty good life, food everyday, shelter, and people to look after them. Isn't this what we all want?

Can a "typical" vegetarian grow enough plants to sustain his/her life in their own personal garden, year round? No...obviously not. I confess I do eat meat =/ And I do love animals but I never like to see them get hurt. If I was to personally see a pig be slaughtered and be given it's meat I would not eat it but if i bought meat at the grocery story I would eat it. Nothing is going to stop those cows and chickens from being slaughtered, but alls you can do is choose to not eat them. They WILL kill an animal and ship it off if it is born to a slaughter house. The best you're doing by being a vegetarian is preventing animals from being born.
Does stopping animals from being born constitute to saving them? No. Well, maybe to you.

Theoretical life is a useless concept. It's the rallying call of the pro-lifers. If you do not breed animals with the intended purpose of killing them - often after enduring lives of intense suffering - and you're able to help the environment while doing so, then yes; I would say stop artificial breeding. We only need to protect animals assigned to our care from cruelty and harm when they are alive.

@MizzRipssa The point is that neither me, you, or Onision is objectively "correct" any more than the others, we should decide for ourselves how we live. I don't believe in pushing one's opinions or dogma on others, especially with the sort of shoddy research Onision so often provides.

@sambabyx3 Ahhh, I see...so being different is the crime, is it? While plants do not have a "brain" in the sense we understand one (not being animals), they are quite aware of what is going on around them, and a number of studies have explored this in depth (see "The Secret Life of Plants")...and while plants are sessile, they move quite a bit, they just move more slowly than our perception can measure, as any stop motion film of plants will demonstrate.
