  • i used siri in the apple store and it was shit. the video above is kinda fake cos you can tell that they added siri's voice after they made it. siri works perfectly in quiet environments but once there are more than one voice it gets fucked.

  • @rahulrajeev123 I'm pretty sure they showed them all in quiet places. Even when he was running, he was using headphones. So it is still as if in a quiet place.

    This technology is in its infancy and Apple DID say it is in beta stages. Betas will always have problems.

  • Somehow, I just think that this looks WAY more impressive than it actually is. I simply do not believe that natural language processing has reached the point where it can make intelligent, detailed searches based on ANYTHING you ask it. Ten bucks says that as soon as you are outside a particular retricted context (e.g. cooking app, or messaging app), it will cock up completely. I think there's going to be a lot of frustrated and disappointed Apple fanboys out there...

  • The demos I've seen you have to press the dang touchscreen mic button (or actual mic on headphones) on and off. Yet the woman who is cooking in this video didn't touch it. What is the deal there?

    I would prefer NOT to have to touch the thing every time I gave it an instruction - isn't the point of the voice recognition to NOT have to press buttons?

    In star trek they just say 'computer'. Haven't we come far enough that we can NAME our iphones and they respond to their name?

  • Actually the siri's been around for a while now and was available to all iphone users. With the new iphone 4s it's only available on that phone now and everyone that had it before, can't use it anymore. So yea I think it's pretty cool and great, but apple's kind of pushing people that need/want this app to buy the new iphone.

  • Why is it that everybody is making derogatory comments about the lady at the end if the video? Can you not see that she is blind? Apple is trying to make the point that those if us who find it difficult to see can use text to voice / voice to text to make our lives better. I personally use my phone to take pictures of illuminated menu boards and Menus with small print to then zoom them.

    Be grateful that you can see Properly and stop dumping your rudeness on how those of us who can't.
