  • I want to join the RMC but I'm costrophobic and I'm being deadly serious here, I would stop breathing in those tunnels, I'm very costrophobic I take the stairs to the top of a 15 story building than a lift. Would this affect me, leading to me failed the selection course??

  • @EllisFitz1995 Like they say man it's a state of mind, you just gotta stick through it

  • @EllisFitz1995 just do it mate. mind over matter. you won't die in them tunnels, or in a lift. don't let your phobias control your life!

  • what happens if you get stuck

  • gay boys

  • beefers

  • @cbass3789 march 13th :))))

  • PRMC in 2 days, shitting one!

  • wat week do you do the endurance test because im abit confused is it in PRMC?

  • @19ashton94 you do the edurance test on day two of the prmc now instead of gym test two then if you pass you'll probably start having to practice it around week 26 of training i think.

  • @19ashton94 they replaced gym test2 and determination test with the endurance course. I have PRMC on 24th May, can't wait to get crackin!

  • Always thought he were the best Blue Peter presenter, but now, my respect for him is fucking phenomanal !

  • Wow ive wanted this scince i was a small lad as soon as im out of millitary preparation college im joining up! :P Lots of hard ass running for me ;)

  • Remember it so well! Just do it!

  • Glad i found this again

Ha remember watching this when it was put on tv for the first time!

  • This is nothing compared to mine! I got home yesterday. there is alot more training after the tunnnels and you piggy back a man up a massive hill twice. and you cannot stand still, alot of crawling! but we didnt do as much in the gym as the last part. I loved it. passed with an A grade! buzzing!!

  • 7 miles of rough terrain in less than 7 minute??? or did i get it wrong??? that just sounds impossible!!!!!!

  • @bhooowan3 70 minutes lol thats on test day though they got 2 hours.

  • Comment removed

  • It kind of looks fun... :)

  • ah looks amazing cant wait , looks super tough but cant wait

  • in my POC (potensial officers course) we had to go under water in peters pool for 5 seconds. was so fucking cold. still it was one of the best experiences of my life :)

  • Did this 6 years ago feels such along time but i can remember ever single fear lol would love to do prmc again as a marine

  • PRMC april 20th, anyone?

  • @reeci000 yeah i do lol!

  • @ahornyrex4 is that a joke? -.-

  • @reeci000 the name is lame i made this youtube account aaages ago. but no seriously my date for PRMC is the 20th april.

  • id prefere to get to know my team mates before i go in, if you want?

  • @reeci000 ha i'm right with ya lol. been searching around for a while and havn't found anyone doing the same PRMC.

  • I'm banned from all the Forces chap due to a failed medical Marine, but I would love to go. Break a leg lol.

  • march 22nd :)

  • PRMC 19th January, anyone else?

  • do you apply at afco?

  • you apply by the main number on the royal navy website

  • howd it go for ya?

  • hi there anyone got a prmc on the 8th of december message me, cheers

  • good luck man

    cant wait till mine

  • mines the 1st

  • i just went into peters pool for the wet and dry routine. it wasnt good.

  • recruit training this october ::)

  • ive been and dine the look at life course at the CTC , real good eye opener if your thinking about a carear in the Royal Marines , if your thinking of doing a college course before hand i recoment the uniformed public services course , keeps your fitness and awareness up ! just wating now till i can go in myself !

  • is the public services course any good i might be doing it at sparsholt then applying for the marines afterwards

  • @15still its aparently good fun, but i went down to the recruiting office and asked what they thought of it and they said it is shit

they told me to get a levels especially pe and geographhy

  • alright lads ive just completed royal marines training its hard but just stick in and you'll pass, the waiting time depends entirely on how quickly you want to join the whole process from completing the application form, to the PRMC and finally basic training was realitivly quick for me probably 3-4 months.

  • big respect to you mate. im hoping to join. i went for the army and got to selection but the shit i saw there...how are the recruits? are they grunts like the army or what?

  • alright mate! am 16 now but i wanna do it after college at 18. was hopin to do the look at life course at 17 though. could you give us some info on how you went about it and the time scale? cheers mate! Respect on passing out aswell!

  • Look at life course was shit for me. I screwed my calf up on that smarties tunnel which pissed me right off. Was great fun though.

  • you twat basic training is 32 weeks - fucken bellend

  • Does anyone know how long the wait is when you initially ring up to book the interview and the PRMC?

  • Good 2-4 months.

  • im 15 and am going to join the royal marines i went on the website and it says you have to be between 15 9months and 33 so if i join at 15 9i months does that mean i do the prmc straight away or do i have to go to a college or something as i would not be 16 please reply any information would be gratefull. :)

  • am same age as u i went careers office other day n they give u a form to send off when u do that they give you a date to go to liverpool when you have finished school and are 16 then u go liverpool to do excersises n a bleep test then they give you a date for your prmc

  • wha happens is cause it takes so long for the whole process to take place by the time you start ur training ull be 17 and you can join n serve but you wont do active duty(tours of duty) till your 18

  • Got my PRMC in 2 weeks. Starting to get nervous now lol but not gonna give up!

  • @dannyuknewcastle so does this mean that you are now a royal marine if so I could do with a few tips...

  • @julzrafpilot this is a bit old i rember watching this on telly. i dont know if it chaged much

  • @CaptinCam0 I don't think they change it much if at all over the years tho be honest, but there is stuff that you don't seem to find out on here :/ thanks for the reply though

  • @CaptinCam0 Yeah it's changed and is a lot harder now.

  • @dannyuknewcastle Did you get in? I know its a late reply haha.

  • @Oblivia666 yeah mate i got in to training. dropped out after 2 months, family reasons.

  • @dannyuknewcastle I see its been a year now, did you pass mate?

  • @distantkilljoy yeah mate passed. feels like ages ago

  • @dannyuknewcastle best of luck mate! I've got my second medical coming up soon, had to lose a few extra pounds lol... Looking at all this though, I can't wait to get stuck in!

  • @thetrueben I did my PRMC 2 years ago in March mate lol, got into training but opted out due to family problems. thinkin of goin back soon

  • @dannyuknewcastle FIGHT ALL THE WAY THROUGH IT MATE!

  • @mrshredstarZ I did mate and passed lol. cant believe it was years ago haha. Left the corps tho coz of family reasons. Might get back in in a few years.

  • @dannyuknewcastle DOing mine eventually, in training now.,,,don't think ill ever be ready enough

  • @mrshredstarZ thats what i thought mate and nailed it. just be determined and youl pass. they look for alot of determination, you dont have to be the fittest, but if you never give up and keep going then they will like the look of u

  • @dannyuknewcastle Quite glad to hear that really, still, fitness training continues

  • @mrshredstarZ get stuck in!

  • @dannyuknewcastle I sure am! Sometimes you're so tired you just want to give in, but that doesnt make a Royal Marines Commando now does it

  • @mrshredstarZ nope ur right. even just after a few weeks they will smash that attitude into u. even now when im running myself lol i dont stop until iv finished what i set out to do. it will be the same for you mate, even now ith training dont give up and with the determination test on PRMC you will fly through it with the right set mind

  • @dannyuknewcastle Well i can only give it my best, off the gym now :D

  • @dannyuknewcastle how did you do mate?

  • @dannyuknewcastle So, it's been two years since you posted the comment sayin u had it in two weeks, did u pass?

  • @mebecallum Yeah I passed. Made it to training and had to drop out after a couple of months coz of family reasons, planning on going back in the near future though.

  • @dannyuknewcastle would you have any advice to a 14 year old marine wanna-be then? I'm doing some running and finding it so difficult that it's embarrising, and some marines only take the piss so i was wonderin if you could help a little?

  • Hi Partner, As I write this is on the train on the way back from PRMC'S when I've spoken to him he says how hard its been!! He has passed though so will be off to training soon...So proud of him but totally petrified of what he is getting himself into. RIP to those Marines killed this week...forever in our hearts xxx

  • well done matt.... bravo chap.

  • Ive got my navy medical in 6 days and then hopefully, PRMC in September.

  • im 16 and just got given my written test, hope to be doing all this in the next couple of months, big thing ive wanted 2 do for years and i aint going to give up at any point

  • what you put emphasis on if you have say 6ish months to finishing preparing (besides running)

  • frog766 - id probably say if youre fit already, then work on musclues and upper body strength, then try a few obstacles (over walls, crawling under tunnels etc).

  • Unless you can crack level 16 on a bleep test-do 100 press ups in a oner and 16 pull ups, then you can improve!I reccommend 300 spartan workout for awesome upper body strength and good cardio.

Train your runs @10k & fartlek. For weights I would practice pulling an upturned horse or weights on a mat with a long rope- whilst lying face down on bench-this will simulate bottom field rope(or versaclimber)

Don't train with weight-after you pass go to the hills with a bergen of say 50 lbs.

    Good luck.

  • i am 15 and have started training i hope to be sponsored through university and join as an officer when i am 18i am not worried about the physical side as i will be training hard for 3 years it is the academic and mental side i have good willpower and i think my academic abilities will be sufficient but i can only hope and train my god damn hardest

  • then im in EXACTLY the same boat as u m8

im 15 hopin to get into sandhurst at the age of round about 18 then join the RMC as an officer

  • Good to hear your going to join! Just in case you don't know, being an officer is about twice as hard! it's 15 months training, your expected to run the same distance in a shorter time and at the end of the day you have to do admin work unlike the normal RMC's. Also if you can, get a degree, you will enter the RMC's at about 22 and you will earn twice the starting salary of a normal RMC. Hope this helps.

  • yeah both my bros r in the army as apache pilots and signals. (both srgt)

they told me how tough its guna b and tbh i cant w8 =) oh wna what would be the best degree to get?

  • You don't go to Sandhurst to be an Officer in the RMC you go down to Lympstone just like regular marines. Pretty sure Sandhurst is just for the army.

  • yeah royal marine officer training is a lympstone, sandhurst is just for the army, i think they train the officers near the men so that they have closer bonds with the men

  • dont worry about killin people because u will finally realise its either the person that wants to kill u goes home or u go home plus ur adrenaling and training will kick in so u might find it more fun and exciting, sounds sick now but look back at what they did to us

  • @bannanahomie

    And another mong fucking statement...

  • @BassettAlmighty Well its not you idiot, the adrenaline kicks in during the stress of fear, meaning that it can get exciting because your starring death in the face quite literally. People can get addicted to the battlefield, theres no other rush in this world like getting shot, people have actually stated that its 'better than crack' so for you to say its a 'mong statement' your being the mong if i'm honest, you need to realise that people do this job because theres an element of enjoyment.

  • i did my prmc last week. start training in about 6 weeks

  • so then m8 how did your prmc go? av got mine around may/june cos thats when a leave school i've already done everything else like medical an that

  • to be honest as long as you train hard before and really want it you'l be fine. just dont quit. there were 3 16 year olds at our prmc i think. start training march 10th

  • I'm thinking of flying all the way from Canada to join the RMs. =) Good luck with everyone who's gonna do their training!

  • Same here with Australia mate.

  • just wondering, if u fail the prmc, are you allowed to re-take it? and is it as hard as people say it is?

Ive got a very strong upper body, and good stamina, but its not like ultra good.

I'm thinkin of signing up after college.

    w/b, cheers

  • Yes you are allowed however from speaking to a royal marine at the AFCO you may have to wait upto 6 months. By the way, if offered they allow to to become involved in a 'taster' day a week before the PRMC to see if you are physically fit and apparently they force you to do a bit more than required on the actual day.

  • Just to let you all know, you DO NOT do the endurance course during your PRMC. It happens during Recruit Training.

  • tough man.mental

  • im 14 and my dads in the marines adn ive done the endurance course be4 , it absolutely nackers you, peters pool is absolutely freezing and the bogs u have to get thorugh are honking .... hopin to be and officer sooooon !!!

  • Good luck trying to become ab Officer.

  • WOW...I'm going to do this PRMC next month....I'm really anxious to do it....I MUST SUCCEED....MUST!!!!

  • good luck man

  • Have you completed your PRMC yet?

  • good luck, hope you complete mate

  • i loved doin the endurance course

  • i swear after hearing the words this is peters pool, my balls went up my body lol, honking place

  • cheer duds29, and dunige88. i'll bear all in mind thanks 4 the advice

  • Mickey, my sons down there at the moment. Just recovering from a broken metatarsal ( no he's not a footballer lol )going back into week 15 after summer leave. If your not really fit all ready, I'd put off going and do some more training at home first, running sit ups, push ups etc. If not it could lead to disappointment. All the best duds

  • any 1 got any advice on training 4 the prmc? going 4 mine sound and bricking it

  • just try your best and never give in, they wanna see determination, they cant do anything with a person that just quits so just keep doing it, also on the beasts dont work to hard mate or ur be hanging out

  • on the beasts? sorry for the ignorance, but i didnt get that. Care elaborating alittle?

  • smash the over hand pull ups press ups and sit ups with knees together, build your cv right up (ie grid sprints) grab your balls and kick some ass

  • thanks 4 the video =]

  • To all the people saying if you've had asthma you won't get in, that is a mistake. Go to the RM website and you will find that aslong as you have been asthma free for four years you can join.

  • Hoofin videos matey! you can have hayfever etc tho to those of you wondering.

  • well i hd asthma when i wias a child but only till i was 2 and ithasn'tbothered me snc and the doctor at the medical said it was fine

  • great insite, but i wouldn't be too fooled by the instructors niceness

  • could anyone with experience give advice on whether the marines would accept someone who has had/has very lightly got asthma?

  • Sorry mate, i'll say negative. i'm an ex-para and they are no way gonna take on an asthma sufferer. you could lie but you will probably get found out early.

  • it depends on the medical history. Im applying for the army and I suffered from light asthma as a child and it hasnt bothered me for years. My doctor confirmed that my last treatment was around 10 years ago and they were fine about it. They told me as long as I hadnt suffered from it over the last four years it would be fine, but thats the army. Go down to the Navy Careers and ask one of them about it.

  • m8 u have no chance u aint alowed to have anything like that no alergies ect so asthma is a no no :(

  • does anybody know how long those smartie tunnles are and the long one at the end?

  • Smartie tunnel goes on forever. there's so much shit and water it's unreal. proper dark too. all the tunnels are a pain in the arse

  • There only polit for the cameras.

behind cameras their horns come out :x

  • Where i can find this video in better quality?

  • I've never seen such polite Royal Marines! Nice one-good effort Matt. Good luck to anyone who's going to go for it in the future..

  • Soon as i finish college ill be doing tht

  • All good fun!

  • I plan to do that soon when I finish my education.

  • wow thats tough lol kudos to those who passed! the DI's seem reallllly nice compared to us marine DI's

  • the staff are respectful of recruits. the Royal Marine policy is to respect to all men. that's why officers and recruits train together. unlike the army where there is segregation.

  • The endurance course is a nightmare. The foulest smelling water that stays on your skin.

  • dd anyone else notice that after every obstacle it was "straight UP the hill"

  • yeah i was just about to say that.Fuckin solid like.

  • Nice 1 matt

  • LOL-'you normally hear the grunts first'

  • I did this back in 1991. It's hell on earth. Great achievment though.Loved it.

  • Ahhhh....brings back the memories!

  • wel done matt, im hoping to do either a prmc or p.o.c in about 2 and a half years and by the looks of it im going to start training now.

  • They should do this kinda thing at school. Maybe not as extreme but the fat fuckers we have at my school it would be good, might have to widen the tunnels mind. I also plan to do this kinda thing and i same age,.

  • nice 1 matt, be doing mine soon :)

  • how often do they do the prmc and what are the paper tests like

  • Find out from your local carriers office, they do it all year around. If you go in for the presentation they will answer all your questions

  • there is a PRMC every 2 weeks mate (usually tuesday to friday) and the paper tests - known as the psychometric tests - are not easy but their not really hard either if you have basic maths and english. the paper tests r in about 5 sections with about 8mins each
