  • Very good

  • Você está vendendo esse instrumento? Vi o anúncio no site organs.ca

  • Really beautiful sound and playing! (love that solo instrument - still trying to figure what it is made up of :) And i love that song too... and of course, the FX-20!! :)

  • Hi there...if you ever come to Vancouver, would love to have to play my FX20....Im a lame novice and not even sure what this beautiful machine can do....have watched your video several times,,,had bought this organ used a year ago and am fooling around with it....a great piece of instrument

  • Loved Claude Dupras. Wish he was still with us. Followed him wherever he went, Hamilton, Burlington, Niagara Falls, London and a wonderful concert in Grimsby at Stewart Sherwood's home at the peach festival. My son also played at that concert and I was amazed when Claude asked my son to show him a sequence that he had played. Boy was my son proud of that moment. Really enjoyed your rendition of this piece. Pulled out the CD I had made from that LP and enjoyed hearing it again.

  • Beautiful performance!

  • Repair it , costs will be fair, play and dont complain abouth things whats nothing......

  • @RalphDodge1

Nope, am enough with it. Cant be repaired and i wont buy another.

  • Incredible organs. I have the smaller but similar FS-500 one. Great job!!!

  • awesome

  • That is a great Yamaha Electone organ! I remember this organ as I had an opportunity to play on this model in the 1980's! Using the same technology as the world famous Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer. I use a Yamaha P-200 on stage as Yamaha has the best digital sampling of acoustic pianos!

  • Fantastic !! Awesome !! Wonderful !!

  • wonderfully played, a joy to listen to

I love the Yamaha Electone sound

  • beautiful !!

  • Beautifully played. I can listen to this over and over again. Thanks.

  • You play very well and will look for more of your videos. In my opinion, the FX1 or FX20 is ONE (there are others) of the finest Electone organs Yamaha ever produced and very worthy of restoration and preservation. I purchased a poorly scanned copy of the technical manual which was of little use so I'm waiting for an original copy to arrive before making further repairs. Again, as I said, wish me luck. Best ...

  • Very nice rendition and very well played! I recently added to my collection an FX20 in need of repair, being my favorite of all the Electones to date. I will never forget playing the FX20 in 1983 and 1984 at our local Yamaha music store ... sweet, warm yet bold and powerful sounding instrument. Wish me luck with the restoration work as many of the parts are difficult to find. Incidentally, thanks for sharing the inspiration. Best

  • Hi. Could you tell me what parts are hard to find and why? I was considering one of these but was told by Ambrose Jackson that parts for Yamaha's digital models are not available from Yamaha. I'd like to own an FX-20 but not if it will be a nightmare when repairs are needed. I have a Yamaha 415 since it was new and it has been very dependable. Thanks

  • The only issues that I know of with the FS/FX series are the belts and motors that control the volume sliders. They tend to break or seize up with age, but this is not detrimental to the operation of the instrument. Other than that, they are pretty bullet-proof.

  • Yamaha no longer stock parts for 1983 model year organs but some ICs are still available from electronic supply houses. Yes, Yamaha used very high quality components in the FX series. All slider motors work well on my FX20. It's main problem is when powered on, all keyboards work but only in one registration. All controls are non-responsive. When powered off & on again, a new registration is set.

  • Thanks, Rob. Eventually I'd like to re-record all Claude's 1980s recordings, but with new re-arrangements and re-interpretations. Someday.

  • I've always loved the FX-20. I wish I had one. Nice job.

  • I have one for sale if you are interested?

  • hi how much do they sell for

  • LINDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Esse órgão é o máximo!!!!!!!!!!! Ainda mais tocado por grandes músicos... Parabéns!!!!!!!!!!

IT´s BEAUTIFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just playing from these greatests musicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was Very nice Rob ! I play this on my FX-1 often, as it is a favorite of mine. I had no idea that Claude had done this on an album. My arrangement is a bit different than yours, but I like how you do it.

  • Very, very nice. "Midnight Blue" was done in French by Michele Torr, and in English by Louise Tucker and Charles Skarbek. There's an instrumental of Torr's out there, too, though I can't locate a copy. This has the right amount of dignified effect for this song, particularly the powerful start and finish. Again, well-played.

  • Nice job. A good homage to Claude Dupras who is no longer with us.

I'm envious of the Electone collection you're building up. I'd love an FX-20, but I'm looking for an FS-70 because it's half the weight.

  • FS-70 is still 291 pounds!

  • Yes, "half the weight" was wishful thinking. But it's probably light enough to be moved by two big guys, a dolly + myself rather than needing a brigade of Royal Engineers. lol

  • Nice to see another video Rob. Very well played and what a gorgeous sounding instrument. Well done !

    Regards

    Rob

  • Very nice sounds, and of course very nice playing.

Quite a machine, that FX-20. Grand. Dynamic. Can't wait to hear and see more. Cheers

  • Very Nice. What a great Instrument you have there. I would love to add a FX-20 to my collection (one day.........)

    Cheers,

    Tim

  • Be prepared to have a sore back! It weighs 427 pounds!

  • That's a lot of loving :) Just a bit more than my EL-90 :) I guess you had better work out where you want it because it would stay there a very long time....lol

  • Funny enough when it was delivered it could not go to the one of my houses that I want it in , so when they moved it here temporarily .... two Tongans [ islanders ] pickit off the trolly like a dream and moved it a few times ..... till the right spot , not an once of sweat ..... No I am thinking that I should get a little HS8 too so I can have one in each house , but my partner does not know why I need and Organ and 3 pianos now !!!!! Some people just dont understand :-)

  • I have to tell you that I just love that song , moonlight sonata is one of my Favourite pieces , so this Midnight Blue is just fantastic. I have recently have fter many years [ 25 to be excat since I use to compete on it in Yamaha Electone Festival here in Australia] purchased an FX 20 . Do you know if the music is available ? I have started to try work it out listening to your playing but thought the sheet music might make life easier. Thanks Marc ... once again great work !!!!!

  • I did the arrangement by ear from a recording on the FX-1 by Claude Dupras. It is in the key of C.

  • @Audioquest56

FX20 ' great memories and pure best Song

    very thanks !

  • Love it. Hope to see more from you. Any chance you can also post a performance with your D-85?

  • I've been hoping to do a video of the D-80, but I'm going to need a mixing board and a couple of high-quality microphones first. I don't like to record using the camcorder's microphone.

  • Nice performance again, sir. Simple, beautiful and haunting. Thanks for keeping Claude Dupras' memory alive.

  • Hi Rob! I saw the link on Electone Zone. Really nice!! And what an impressive Electone that is!

Mhmm... It has elements of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata (2nd mov.), I think.

    Regards, Terry

  • Nice work man keep making great vids like this one
