  • This does not work, if anything its destroying it even more beyond repair ability. The GPU needs to be reballed. So for anybody looking for a quick fix, overheating the system, reflowing, and baking the mobo dont work. (actually reflowing is good too if you don't have the equipment to reball). reballing is a permanent fix and has a 98% success rate if you didn't kill your system worse like this guy.

  • dude this will fuck your console up even more over time, do the ylod fix there's an awesome video up by gilksy and it should be a permanent fix.

  • @TheBlueDragonGamer my ps3 worked for about 12 hours

  • for how long could you play after you fixed it 1min...1hour...2hours??

  • thanks so much dude just got my ps3 up and running again, i liked and subscribed.

  • the new harry potter ;P

  • omg this kid breathes heavy

  • didn't work but thanks a lot man

  • it doesnt work for me it just goes on then off when i hold it

  • ur ps3 scared me at 1:01

  • THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH !!!! I LOVE YOU!

  • didn't work for me

  • Thanks for the guide wee man, I think I'm just as amazed as everyone else that this actually works! My YLOD PS3 stayed alive long enough for me to data transfer everything across to my newly purchased slimline, chuffed!

  • Thanks for the guide wee man, I think I'm just as amazed as everyone else that this actually works! My YLOD PS3 stayed alive long enough for me to data transfer everything across to my newly purchased slimline, chuffed!

  • @wallacemccla48 Lol your gay it didnt work because you didnt try it

  • @xXxja196xXx easy keyboard warrior

  • OMG this actually works!!!! Dont bother with putting it in a box though, just blast it for about 20mins with a hairdryer on top heat. You can smell the solder melting, and it clicks nicely when it cools. I took the HDD and the disc. to be safe as they are the bits least likely to like heat

  • After its fixed u better off driving down to gamestop and hope they dont find out lol :)

  • Comment removed

  • @vieraboy925 You are so retarded.....I clearly stated in the beginning of the video that the time it lasts VARY's it can be 1 second or 12 months man, and you shouldn't be doing this to play it more, you should be backing up your data, and getting a new ps3, every other video is the same even the gilsky guy, were you take your PS3 apart i did that for a friend cuz he was to scared lasted him 5 days what a waste, my fix lasted 10 months, and my friends lasted 4, so suck it up pussy buy a new one.

  • @xXxja196xXx shutup you no life

  • Worked for me but just 2 hours :(

  • The info is good but I about threw up from the shaky cam! Smart enough to figure your PS3 learn how to shot and edit som videos.

  • @gualtieritony can people stop commenting telling m,e to learn how to edit and stuff this was over a year ago now when all i had was a shitty nano camera, lol so plzz dont i get it okay -.-

  • oh ive tried this but it only makes your ps3 work for like 30 minutes if you have an intercooler or whatever its called but ya it will make it work for a while

  • @izzynizzy404 Hey man try it again but this time put the heat very close to the fans but not touching it...for like 20 min...then let cool for 30 min or until not hot anymore. This WORKS...I have done this many times thanks to this lil dude!!...Smart lil kid.

  • @ruppwasking oh ya well i guess because the one i tried was to do it for 15 min and let it cool for 20 and it didn't work so i guess i did it wrong but thanks

  • @izzynizzy404 Yeah just give it another try...it should work for you if you try it again. Just remember to let it cool down fully before youturn it on..I have tried to turn it on before cooling all the way and it will only work for a few hours at best. Nothing wrong with heating for 20 min and cooling for 30min.

  • @ruppwasking alright thanks for the information

  • how long do u av to heat it and fan it ??

  • Assassin's Creed Porno FTW bitches

  • it worked for me, after a year of ylod.

  • Thanks man for the vid

  • i fucking hate getting sick....

  • dfs

  • ffffffffffd

  • why is he out of breath the whole way through?!

  • @IntelSedrino I was sick and when im sick i tend to hyperventalate because im "allergic: to the symptoms

  • @IntelSedrino cuz he's the average american child?

  • @bradandbarb Im not american you dumb fuck.

  • @xXxja196xXx ya' fat little puke. Be careful who you cuss at. Whatever nationality you are, you're fat and out of shape. Take up playing outside with friends if you have any in RL. Play some ball. Get your Dad (if he's around) to play catch with you. If not, take control of your own life and do something that requires energy. Life's gonna suck real bad for you if you don't do something about your health. Punk. Have a great day.

  • @bradandbarb Oh my god you're pathetic.... This was 1 year and a half ago a week after this video i had serious flu symptoms, my breathing is heavy because i was sick and that's why i was sniffling a lot to. Don't assume i'm fucking fat, get your fact's straight. Dumb ass ginger.

  • @bradandbarb Trying to act like a tough guy on the internet... Your cool.

  • Thumbs up if you got ylod after downloading update 3.61

  • @iCyFlaMeZ96 Like right after?

  • tired it 5 times still hasnt worked for me..yet i'm still going to try or just open it up instead. any tips?

  • Just tried it tonight and it worked!!...didnt work the first time or second time but I turned up the heat on blow dryer and it worked. Thanks.

  • dude i do this, and it works only 10 seconds, so what you recomend?

  • can i do something about it for this not to happen again? i hear because it over heats is it right?

  • fuck you this shit didnt work and i did it right

  • @HercAndJewel8720 Okay dude..........This does work read the other comments CLEARLY this does work and i have mentioned IN THE COMMENTS this may take more that one try and dont say "Fuck you" atleast im saving you from 159$ to pay fagget.

  • @HercAndJewel8720 Yes it does work dumbass, if not the first try just wait till it cools down fully after ur first attempt. then try again, because one morning i got the ylod and i tried this again it worked but then it went ylod again after few minutes later that day i did it and then waited couple hrs to turn it back on and it powered on like a charm. so it does work 50% of the time

  • i love your video btw, maybe like 6 months ago i used your guide to get my ps3 working. Got my save games out and then i sold my console and bought myself a slim

    so many thanks

  • @Sayishere Thank you :),

  • it breaks 3 days later each time i do it

  • @plymouth426ful whrong, it differs everytime

  • @xXxja196xXx i know, im just saying what happens to mine

  • @plymouth426ful a hairdryer is not quite hot enough to do a reflow let alone when the unit is fully assembled, the heatsinks are cooling it before it gets hot enough before it can hot enough to fully melt the solder joints on the cpu/gpu bga's.

  • Thanks dude it finally worked after a day i tried all day yesterday it didnt wrk (10 times)..... so i decided to give it little break wait till da next morning it still didnt work.... then i used a heat gun did it for a total of 15 min. but i did it for 5min stop let it cool down for like a min. so on...then i got a high powered fan and a wet towel to cool it down for like 30 min.... i got a new power cord and an exstension cord hooked it up waited for like 20min then BOOM its working!!!!!

  • i tried this and it worked. After 7-8 mins working, i had YLOD back again. I did the whole thing again and now its working fine.

some advice for others: As soon as it's working again, make backups for your save games asap. Don't go crying to the uploader it didn't work, since he tries to help you fix your ps3. Remember that the melting of your ps3 is something what you should keep an eye on yourself!

Just follow the steps xXxja196xXx told and it should be working normal.

    Thx for uploading! =D

  • i fixed mine i put my ps3 upside down in a box then put a sheet over the top of the bos and hanging half way down and heated the back of the ps3 vents untill my hair dryer overheated and turned itself off then put the fan by the ps3 for 30 minutes and then plugged my ps3 in and it works.

  • This shit dont wotk

  • I just did the switch off and eject thing to get my Socom out and it worked

  • @mini8257 your power supply is probably the cause of your ylod

  • @daver20007 yes that is the main problem your power supply gets too hot after playing for awhile and basically gets like FRIED. Its sucks

  • this is bullshit the fans wont even turn on for me

    thgis id disapointing :(

  • @cowchaser1319 Its called a cold Fuck face

  • IDK but it sounds like he was crying. Maybe because his mom didn't wana buy him a new one so he had to do this again.(you can hear him breathing heavily and the sniffles)

  • @TheCristianvaladez If you must know you ignorant fuck, I was sick, cold actually and my nose was runny.. i wasn't crying, i have a slim now, with my own money because i have money.... not you, you poor bastard, so don't assume next time, kthanksbye

  • YEa this works if you do it right!!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCHHHHHH for this awesomeness!!!!!

  • 3 attempts didnt work for me, BS!

  • I used this method without a box on my bathroom counter and it worked!!! Heated it with the blow dryer about an inch and a half away, moving it back and forth at the same speed you did for about 10 minutes. Then put a house fan on it for about 10 more, plugged it in and bam! I was getting the YLOD everytime I turned it on for about a week and now, 20 minutes later, I'm up gaming again. I will make another post if and when it YLODs again but thank you for this awesome method!!

  • EXACTLY MY PS3 MELTED AFTER LESS THAN 2 MINS LOL

  • @puffnigha21 Then try not to put the hairdryer to close buddy!

  • trying this today, but my ps3 wont eject the disc like yours would :-(... it reacts no differently then if i just press the power button, yellow light and 3 beeps

  • @SillyBastid didnt work! damn it!

  • @SillyBastid me either dont feel bad its BULLSHIT. after 3 attempts fuck it i think the best bet is taking it apart fuck it

  • look i got the ylod and i need to do the data utility thing so i can get the savings from my first to the new one we are gonna buy. thats the only reason i do this

  • IT WORKED IT WORKED IT WORKED OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

  • Thank you! Subscribed!

Could you tell me how much time it will last?

    At least a rough estimate

  • Thank-you! I was able to get my disc out and back-up my games!! Youtube = AWESOME! Thanks man!

  • @tcamden100 Is your system still working?

  • @trttab123 No,it died again a couple days after... however I did it again and it worked. I transferred all my info onto a slim so it worked for what I needed. I couldn't believe that it worked not once, but twice (I've heard of it working six/seven times :-O ) This is only a temp. fix for those of us who need to back-up files or get disc's out that are stuck in the system!

  • The PS3 Slim have the YLOD?

  • @msilviu18 No

  • @xPcOxGame..this works..depending on how good yr hairdryer is..if its hot on medium it's ok..hairdyrer 15 minutes..fan 45 on low..no less..believe me it works

  • k good vid mine is working 100% now ! lets see how long it lasts

  • this video/technuuiqe how ever u spell that works for me only prob is that the tv is geting no signal from the ps3 but all an all this did fix the ylod so far im still cooling it down lil longer hopefully thatll fix it

  • @JonsonL well i know that sony does sht for "refurb" becuase i had a refurbn when my ps3 broke and the heat since was all bent up inside....

Thats why i repair my own ps3s

  • Mine doesn't do the fan thing at the start and just goes straight to the yellow light is this a big issue or can I just use the hair dryer and fan?

  • what if you cant take out the cd will it destroy it by using the hair dryer?

  • this not work

  • Worked for me. No idea how long it will last but it allowed me to data transfer everything to a new PS3 slim which took about 6 hours. Thanks man!

  • My ps3 will turn of for like 5 mins then turn off again then 20 mins later it will work :O?

  • im gonna fix it up today thanks man

  • Owwwww... I have a fat 40gb ps3 and it didn't work. But the disc thing worked thanks

  • I paid 120.00 the first time mine messed up with yellow light. This method worked for me. There's no guarantee that if you pay to have it fixed it won't do it again. I'll just keep a hairdryer handy from now on. Good job!

  • You should do this only temporarily like if you need to get the disc out before you send it off to sony.

  • WOW YOUR SOOOOO CLEVER YOU SAVED MY PS3 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU IT REALLY WORKS EVEN HERE IN ENGLAND

  • i tryed the eject thing on my 60gb and it didnt work anyone know what to do ?

  • I love you no homo it worked on my 60gb launch thanks

  • just did it.hairdried to for 15 mins.and all done..thnx

  • can my fat ps3 wires work on slim?

  • can i have the game still inside the system when i do this....cause i t wont come out.

  • did yu keep the hard drive in there while yu did the process

  • @henrytharin nooooo

  • can you put the ps3 in the freezing cold after you heat it up cuz wen i idid it worked. will this do damage 2 ma ps3

  • It worked..lol..1st try..hairdryer 15 min..fan 45....got my cd out...yaaaay...

  • WOW THANKYOU!!! XXXXXXXXXXXX

  • Yea well,My mom works as some one who cuts hair and her hair dryer is so much hotter then a regular blow dryer so i'm scared it'll melt it :(

  • I mean "after" it cooled down. Bloody iPad!

  • I'm amazed, but this actually worked. Thanks Kid!!! For me, it worked 5 mins ate it had cooled down. Initially it didn't want to start up, but then it finally did.

  • Not how to fix. How to bodge.

  • I came up with a new way of fixing the YLOD without opening check out my channel. Also give tell me if it works for you to causei have been using this on my ps3 and works fine.

  • @TheOfficialLolGuy a box is a box you retard, as long as it fits in and keeps the heat enclosed, the ps3 box dosnt hold any secret powers lol

  • +++++this really works, our ps3 60gb got the ylod on the 30th of december, tried this on the 2nd of jan just to see if it would work, the hair dryer stopped working after 10 mins so I put the hot ps3 under my bed as we have bought a slim line one the day after, had the broken ps3 on ebay so thought I would switch it on and it fuckin came straight on, couldnt believe it, I didnt cool it down like on the video and genuinly only kept the hair dryer on for 10 mins cause it stopped, guys a genious++

  • thank you soooooooooooooooooo much you saved my PS3's life ty ty ty ty ty ty :) love this videooooooo

  • @Shababadoo123 No problem :), Dont forget to subscriibe :D ;) <3

  • @xXxja196xXx how many minutes I have to keep the hair dryer behind the ps3?

  • @xPcOxGame 15mins

  • does this work for the 60gb model

  • wow this is retarded

you guys are gonna melt th casing of the ps3 by doing this

you should take it aprt to fix it.

  • @BritishBlackOps yes but some people dont want to do that wich is the whole point of this video you will not melt your ps3 only if your a retard and hold the hairdry to close or have it on for to long i have never melted mine ive done it over 20 times

  • @xXxja196xXx Actually, this melts/burns the thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and the cooling fan, which causes improper heat transfer. Therefore, it becomes easier for the CPU/GPU to melt the lead-free solder balls between the CPU/GPU and the motherboard, resulting in another YLOD (or worse, frying your CPU or GPU).

  • @xXxja196xXx Some parts started to bend inside... It worked, and im happy, but is it ok that a little plastic started to bend, behind the casing's grades?

  • @BritishBlackOps noooo ur retarded

  • @sk8trboi991 totally man , i am soo retarded that i put a hair dryer in like 5 towels and risk a fire to fix a ps3 when the proper way to fix it is to reball the circuit or have sony fix it

  • 15 minutes of a hairdryer and leaving it in my garage for an hour worked, you saved me 300 quid, nice work :D

  • I did this yesterday and it worked. It took me 10 mins to heat it up with hairdryer then cool it down for 10 mins. I bet my hairdryer got strong heat.

  • How long does this last because i did it to mine and it has worked for 3 days straight

  • @TheCaptainTA 3 to 4 days if you did it correctly it can even last 5 days. But the more you do it the more you melt your ps3's shell.

  • Dude. This worked perfectly. THanks so much. I already shelled out for the new system, but it's nice to know I can at least get my saves for FFXIII, Demons Souls and Oblivion off my old PS3.

  • Go out for a morning run everyday. Your breathing is really annoying

  • wew t worked for me 2 months :)) >< lol now its permanent i did it over 15 times

  • Heyy nice vid.. I have a question is this dangerous to do or it's not dangerouse at all.. For example could iht cause a fire

  • @4lifejam not really but if you smell dust or plastic burning, stop it and cool it down

  • i dont know why but the method with the hairdryer dont work with my ps3 , you think is more serious what my ps3 have , i think i have to open my ps3 , and all this thanks to cod black ops

  • @canonball2595 So funny. Black Ops has managed to f up my system too

  • Are.. you.. fucking.. serious. I had my doubts. Lets see how long this lasts. I'm scared that it'll only last a few minutes or a few hours as what everyone has said here.

Because I'm sure you read every comment, What was the longest lasting one you heard of?

  • Wow this shit actually works. I tried the whole button combination to get one of my games out and it didn't come out so I followed this video exactly and at first my PS3 didn't turn on but a few seconds later I got it to make that really loud fan sound and did the button trick to get my disc out :) and then I waited for a few moments and I was able to turn on my ps3 yellow light of death free :) try this fix

  • thnx a lot dude.my ps3 fucked up 3 hours ago then i try this trick now ps3 working again . thnx ....

  • @LoneYakuza Hi, as he says this fix is very temporary. I recommend (as long as your PS3 is not under warranty) that you do gilksy's fix. (Youtube username Gilksy) and use flux. That will last much longer.

  • @mu51im yea man.My ps3 dead now.This fizx temporary,sadly.Gilksy fix is not permanent either. I have to buy new ps3 .... :(

  • do we neeed to do it in a box?

  • is it safe 2 do if the disk is in and cant be removed?

  • got the disc out, got the PS working, thanks a lot.

  • do u need the PS3 box or can you use any box ??

  • To me it only laste 50 seconds

  • what if i cant get cd out will it be OK

  • U put the blow driyer on hot or cold ?

  • @vanashkan hot

  • Only lasted a week.....:(

  • i wish the cd trick worked for me. not working.

  • Dude you are a LEGEND! currently have my ps3 working again and going to back it up before it breaks again
