Hmm... I do like the song, well, the lyrics at least. But just... Every time it starts with the screaming, I kind of cringe. I think it would have been much better if the screaming wasn't even part of the song... But that's just my opinion. And before anyone's like "Oh, you're just a screamo hater" I'm actually not, I enjoy screamo music. I enjoy a lot of songs that have screaming in them, and I think it's amazing that people can do that, but the screaming in this song kills it for me...

See, the thing about Alesana is that they're lyrics have a deeper and intricate meaning. Also, a background story and a more advanced vocabulary. Okay, yes, the intro is about Daedalus' and Icarus' attempt at escaping the Labrynth. But Alesana always includes their album name in all their songs in that album. Like "Where Myth Fades Into Legend" one song in that album is called "Better Luck Next Time Prince Charming." But, the rest of the song is about Midas. How everything he touches turns to gold. He touched the only person he loved and she turned into gold.

hm well this song has nothing to do with Icarus ^.^( except the short part in the beginning)

the rest of the song talks about the ancient greek king midas, who was able to turn everything he touched into gold, but was not able to stop it ( so everything he touched turned into gold, if he wanted or not). he accidently turned his daughter into a golden statue and everything he tried to drink/eat turned into gold to. he realized that is dream actually was a curse and prayed for being normal again
