Was never a fan of Traction Control on the V8's - especially onboard - V8 sounded so wooden on some cars and the TCS sounded like gargling - From outside it sounded quite alright though. On the V10 engines, however, I thought that TCS sounded brilliant - to me it sounded like there was something massive trying to hold back and contain the beautiful raw power song-sound of the V10!

Traction Control wasn't right for racing though - much more of a challenge again for the drivers and exciting!

@rapljwop Agreed - I watched 2002-2005 F1 and the TC just "fit" with the V10. It ruined the V8 though.

I LOVE this sound. i remember hearing this at the USGP and wondering what that awesome ripping sound is. I eventually found out it was the TC. I am so glad you put this vid on youtube. Thank you!

Honda RA107. They ran a season without sponsorship and this special "Earth" scheme. The only decals on the car were a Honda badge and some technical partners names on the nose cone.

Actually you are right! Traction control is targeted towards acceleration. So... when you hear the poping noises, the driver is trying to accelerate (or his is applying some sort of throttle)....!

the "grinding" noise when the car accelerates out of the corner is the sound of the traction control kicking in, to stop the wheels from overspinning.
