Put your phone lens up to somebody so that only part of their face fits in in the frame. It's a couple inches away. Shouldn't the journalists have identified themselves? Not that any physical contact or assault was justified. But "who are you?" is a reasonable question from someone being approached on the street by people with cameras, and the journalists did not answer it. "We're just students" is not an answer.
