I enjoy both but TH just had a lot of memories.

I guess any young kids getting into skating now and playing Skate as well will say the same thing when another skateboarding game, better than skate comes out :P and it just keeps repeating :D

@DJUsive1 In my opinion, I feel that a thug game is much more fun than a skate one. The music, funny, true story mode, and just the feel you don't get with other games. If I wanted a realistic skating game I would go outside to skate. Being restricted to only what is possible in real life takes away the fun of the game. If Neversoft started making new TH games with a controller, and not the ride/shred board, I would much rather play that.

Personally I'm pretty into my hip-hop stuff when I'm on my board at least, and Skate has that in abundance! As well as still being pretty funny. You're not restricted to what's possible in real life, its just not as simple as pushing three buttons and pulling off a multi-million-point trick. As much as I loved the TH series they're not something I'd go back to having played Skate now. It just captures the soul of skateboarding infinitely better. Just my opinion too! =D

THPS 1-4 were great, but THUG, THUG2 and THAW were my favorites. Mainly because they were pretty hilarious and had good (if whacked) storylines. Project 8? Meh. Proving Ground? Pffffft. Downhill Jam? What the.... But Ride? Jesus. Fucking. Christ. And Shred will probably follow suit. I say either kill the waning series or go back to its non-gimmicky best.

Skate ISN'T realistic, it just has a more natural and accurate control style.

Makes it infinitely more fun. Tony Hawk's just isn't enough of a challenge, granted they were great games, but they were just waayy too over-simplified. It also makes Skate ten times more satisfying.

@xPRBxBeaSTiiNx Skate pretty much ended Tony Hawk series. The realism and the choice of skaters is what made Skate blow up. Only the old tony hawk games are fun, but they can't be compared to Skate. Unless tony hawk partners with EA instead of Activision. but hopefully can make Skate's story lines a little bit better.
