@edgehead10075, I kind of agree with you, but if they were to induct him into the hall of fame it would be from a professional stand point and not a personal one, murderer or not, nobody can deny the talent, atheletic and technical ability that made him a great professional wrestler. That wouldn't be glorifying him as a murderer, it would glorify him as a wrestler
Dude, the answer to the question is obvious. The WWE is not going to mention his name because he's a murderer. He committed a heinous crime, and mentioning him would be glorifying a murderer. If WWE mentioned Benoit, the media would be all over them. What the WWE is doing is common sense.
He never got his due on top, 1 run as champion. Sure he helped Orton out by making him into a star, that what he did, he helped the young talent, but damn could of had more time
Who cares? To all of you guys who wanted the wrestlers to answer that question, what were you expecting them to say? Obviously, they were going to stand by the company line that Benoit shouldn't be mentioned because of his actions. WWE's decision is a no-brainer. They don't want to risk offending people by praising a murderer on their TV programs, and they know that it's inappropriate. WWE is a publicly traded company.
The main reason why I clicked on this series of videos was because of The Hitman. However, he was sort of sidelined, probably because of his qualms with the wwe/f administration. He also seemed pretty unimpressed with what Cena had to say as Cena at this point was the wwe goldenboy so was very pro vince. I just hope the wrestling business gets its act together, as to my shock I saw in a recent footage of raw there were hardly any people there compared to when the sold out shows of yesteryear
HA! My final thought before looking at the comments, Larry King cut that off! WWE must have paid them well to ignore that. They totally did what she said she is spot on but of course lets ignore that! Damn good question if you ask me. But I love wrestling and will watch it bias is just annoying.
Totally agree, I thought that would probably be the best question to ask the other wrestlers. You know, Benoit worked so hard to get where he was, but it seems like all that was for nothing. You can never change what he accomplished in the wrestling business.
i couldnt understand what was it? I hate how larry just cut her off stay on for another minute its not going to kill u, the questin was like why is wwe acting as if benoit didn't do it or something right?
The WWF cut's out chris benoit out of all they're PPV's and DVD's and act as if he never existed. This gets very anoying on WWE on Demand When you can't have a nitro segment with him in it, as part of the four hoursment those promos are all cut out, and most of the matches as he acted as their manager too...so a 3 hour nitro(44minutes without comericials per hour) turns into an hour and 47minutes. it wont ait again and I only have the first 1:30/1:30mins."Why do they act as if he doesnt exist?"
theres a difference between not letting you in the HoF and editing you off 25years+ of TV.
it ruins WWE on demand as the nitro's a ruined when they were at their best...
there are plenty of other wrestlers who have done horrible things and they still play their matches. Who's that other wrestler who stabed someone, they've played his matches on-demand have they not?
Its because the wwe doesnt want the media up there ass about showing anything having to do with Benoit so now they act as if he never existed its a shame
great vid and hell yeh u cant tell history of wwe withoutmentionin chris benoit. and so wat if benoit isnt in hall of fame its not every thing and no 1 can say other wise bc u dont need to be in hall of fame to be remmembered cuz i will alwayz remmember him but never ever 4get wat he did even though we dont kno if he did it
Great interview and it was refreshing to see Larry King show respect to the wrestlers on his show. Out of all the shows I have seen talking about this incident, This was the only one where the wrestlers were actually respected and didn't have the steroid issue shoved down there throats.
For example, Lets say Michael Jordan kills his wife and kids. Should the NBA erase all records and ignore the fact that he was the greatest basketball player of all time? No. The basketball fans will never forget him no matter what he does in his personal life. Same with Chris Benoit.
Wow i cant believe they cut that last question. That was a burning question in my mind. Sure his actions are inexcusable but what the hell man. Not putting him in the hall of fame? Sux MAJOR BALLS. WWE should remember him as a wrestler. They care to much of what the media thinks and not enough of what the actual wrestling fans think. They should do a poll like a telephone poll or sumthin and if a lot of fans want to see him in there, they should put him in!
Wow...I just lost respect for this entire interview after that last call got cut off. Running out of time? You just said 30 seconds and it was 8, and just as he got to his point, he switched it off. Fucking ridiculous. I'd like to know why the WWE is doing that shit. It's pretty much inexcusable after airing a 3 hour tribute to Benoit.
i realize that benoit killed his family, but if the wwe forgets that he ever existed it would be a mortal sin on their part because benoit was one of the best wrestlers of all time. that would be like them saying hulk hogan never existed.
No the WWE is not? He still busted his ass for 22 years, and I can understand not showing his past matches, but editing certain matches and commentary is fucking retarded...so stfu.
Hughezy, Nobody is asking you or anyone else to forget the terrible acts he did. He was a living legend in the buisness, and did so much for it. Pretending he didnt exist in it is not right at all. His personal life and actions should not interfer with the memory of his professional history.

It doesn't matter. You can't separate the wrestler from the killer; they're the same guy. To glorify him in any way is to glorify a killer.

The wrestlers earn enough that they can buy their own health insurance. They installed a wellness program years ago.

WWE would pretty much be shitting on Nancy Benoit's family if they continued to praise Chris Benoit, the man who murdered her and their son.

Yeah that is completely true. Its this blind sense of worship at the expense of the Nancy and Daniel who were VICTIMS in this situation.

6 months is a decent time for a champion. Cena has held the belt for more than a year. That's too long. Usually reigns range from 3-5 months.
