Germany in the long run was defeated not by skill or superiority of the enemy it faced, but by pure numbers and bad luck. Take for example when the German army invaded the Soviet Union in Barbarossa. 3 million Axis troops were on the lines of the Russian border. But of that only 1.5 million would launch the actual first attack, the rest stayed behind as logistical guards, reinforcements and other things.

On the Eastern Front a German soldier could expect to fight a Russian unit of anywhere from 3 to 15 times its size in manpower and or vehicles. On the Western Front in France it was 3 Allied men to each 1 Axis. Africa 5 to every 1. Italy, 2 to every 1. Considering the Germans lasted for 3 whole years with odds this horrible proves its skill in tactics, weaponry, training, soldiery, strategy and overall national unity.

So not only did the German army face the horrible Russian winter with no provisions, they had to fight until death according to their Fuhler's order. However, the biggest mistake that Hitler ever made was the idea and the attempt of taking over the world. He apparently messed with a lot of powerful countries. Look what countries were the Allies and what were the Axis. There was no possible way that they could win this war.

Yes it was a mistake to invade russia during the winter, especially since it was an exceptionally cold winter that year. Germany's supply lines to the eastern front had been obstructed because of the winter while they were deep in russia.

Germany in the long run was defeated not by skill or superiority of the enemy it faced, but by pure numbers and bad luck. Take for example when the German army invaded the Soviet Union in Barbarossa. 3 million Axis troops were on the lines of the Russian border. But of that only 1.5 million would launch the actual first attack, the rest stayed behind as logistical guards, reinforcements and other things.

On the Eastern Front a German soldier could expect to fight a Russian unit of anywhere from 3 to 15 times its size in manpower and or vehicles. On the Western Front in France it was 3 Allied men to each 1 Axis. Africa 5 to every 1. Italy, 2 to every 1. Considering the Germans lasted for 3 whole years with odds this horrible proves its skill in tactics, weaponry, training, soldiery, strategy and overall national unity.

The majority of resources of the British empire were -not- in Britain silly, They were IN the empire, That's, The commonwealth was barely mobilized

German tanks would ruin themselves due to getting fucked up engines thanks to a Sandstorm, thats the extend of the ill preparation, Problems like this were resolved eventually, but not fast enough to stop the British carrying out their famed raids and rapid attack and withdraw attacks, that hammed the Africa corps

@martynrobin121 No, Hitler didn't prioritize the need to take Oil fields until 1942, It wasn't until he knew full well North Africa was a losing battle that he needed to ensure he had access to the Baltic Oil fields, The inevitable survival for the Nazis and was a preemptive strike on the Russian army which was all bunched up at the border and poised to invade with no defensive plans or training.
