21 seconds in, back seat on the left hand side, looking out the window....

    Nice touch Mr Vidler.....

  • hahaha fuck yeah it is..well spotted.

  • This mix is hot.

  • Oh bologna... Nirvana was known for taking artistic liberties with other peoples' songs. Research "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" "Lake of Fire," and "Seasons in the Sun," if you're skeptical. I would be willing to wager like, $5 or so ('cause I'm poor, and I could be wrong) that the members of Nirvana would appreciate this kind of creativity.

  • You can't really use the Meat Puppets songs from the live album to support your argument. They were guests. You didn't hear Nirvana playing their songs at their regular concerts. And as far a the Ledbelly song goes, Kurt never changed it. He just covered it. Same tempo and everything. Sure they covered songs, but they never changed them. Seasons in the sun would be the only exception.

  • @foolsonparade I dont mean this to get into an argument or anything but I know 'where did you sleep last night was a cover' but nirvana's sounds nothing like Leadbelly's. The chord progressions and tempo is completely different it really does sound like a completely different song with a ghost of the same melody.

  • @foolsonparade Grey Goose? Do you have any Leadbelly albums. Where did you sleep is kinda close but not the same. I don't think anyone could actually sound like Leadbetter. How bout Baba O'Riley, My Sharona?

  • @foolsonparade What about the sarcastic mangling of 'Get Together' Chris Novoselic did in the opening seconds of 'Territorial PIssings'? Or their cover of Shocking Blue's 'Love Buzz', which left out everything but the first verse? Those constitute changes to me.

Changes in cover songs are not bad. Neither are mash-ups. Certainly not worth being annoyed over. We're talking about music, not some kind of hallowed ground that must never be approached.

  • To add more.

    Man who sold the world

Jesus doesn't want me to be a sunbeam

    Turnaround

    Plateau

    Oh Me

    Molly s Lips

    Love Buzz

    And more

  • @celestialheath

you do know that covering a song is different than reworking their original recording, right?

this is a legitimate piece of work, but your response makes you sound like an idiot

  • @stuetrory Yep, I'm aware that a cover does not a bad-ass mash-up make. I responded to Hybridforlife's statement, "you just raped a very good nirvana song" cuz I did not agree. (YouTube didn't have the @whoever reply function at that point, and clearly I'm too big of an idiot to've thought to do it myself). But I didn't say Nirvana did or didn't do to the songs I mentioned what was done with this one; all's I meant was that I felt this was much more... beautiful love child than rape, ya know?

  • @celestialheath And then besides all of that, there's the fact that they'd be good sports about things and wouldn't yell at someone for doing a friggin mashup.

  • @TBonne29 Exactly, right?

  • @celestialheath I'm poor, and I'm willing to wager $100.

  • @celestialheath teen spirit really doesnt sound like more than a feeling and is fact completely different chords melodies, etc. lake of fire and and seasons in the sun are both covers and they presented that very clearly when they played them

  • @celestialheath Kurt would've loved these things

  • FUCKING WIN

  • 4 tumbs up !!!!!

  • Love it GHP rules

  • wow! one of the most amazing original mashups i've heard in a long time.
