It can. You are suppose to scrub while it's sitting in there and then wait an hour!! THEN fluushh..

1. Remove water from the bowl. Either use a suction cup or tube and pump, or turn off the water and flush.
2. Pour a 2 liter bottle of Coke (Coke Zero works better) into the bowl.
3. Allow it to set in on the mineral deposit for at least 12 hours.
4. Turn on the water if needed, and flush the toilet
5. Use ordinary toilet bowl cleaner to remove the film from the various flavorings and dyes in Coke.
It doesn't work as well as commercial cleaners, but it does work. Vinegar works better!
