Yeah, that was the only thing missing for such a perfect video tribute. The two different actors playing the part, I assume one would use clips of both. The original Jimmy on Lois and Clark was so much better, so I was disappointed to see him in this video but its not a big complaint.
I don't remember the exact date of when Superman Returns was released (2006) but the description says it took years to make, and it was uploaded in Sept of 2006.
BRAVO! An EXCELLENT tribute to Superman! :) If/when you do an update, I hope you're able to find David Wilson's and the '66 Filmation versions, as well as the '88, and maybe SuperFriends. I'm putting this up on my MySpace page. Click on my name, and you'll find the link to that. :)
What an amazing job you did on the music editing...and a great selection of scenes from all the SUPERMAN films and TV series (save SUPERBOY, but that's a minor quibble). A truly spine-tingling tribute to the men who have been the Man of Steel. Thank you for this video. Now let's have Brandon Routh added in somewhere among the John Williams theme sections!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!! I LOVE SUPERMAN!!!!!!! All it's missing are images from the 2006 movie Superman Returns then it'll be perfect! Great video the way it is though! :)
Around the time that the SUPERMAN CINEMA set came out on DVD, they released the two COLUMBIA SUPERMAN serials featuring Kirk Alyn. They're not that bad.
You left out Bob Holiday from the Broadway version from the 60s. Ok, yeah I know there was no known footage. Also, you would have paid plenty if you had to go out and find the soundtrack. BTW the fleicher soundtrack. Was that redubbed? Doesnt sound like the cartoon.
I got the FLEISCHER theme (as well as the serial theme) from a CD called THE ULTIMATE SUPERMAN COLLECTION. Unfortunately, they were redone at a much slower pace than the original pieces and were longer versions. In order to use them, I had to edit them down to more closely resemble their screen versions and digitally speed them up. Didn't want to use the originals because I didn't have good quality versions at the time.
Excellent tribute to the many incarnations of Superman over the years. Have you ever thought about doing a similar tribute to Batman. You could start with the silent movie that was made in the 20's called 'The Bat' to 'Batman Begins'...
I thought L&C was good in the beginning. And I do like SMALLVILLE, even if it can be damned infuriating. I edited this using ADOBE PREMIERE PRO and AFTER EFFECTS (for the opening and final sequences) with a SMALL amount of 3D Studio Max for good measure.
hey dude i think you should update it wit the new movie of superman that came out that way it makes it a better movie and a better story line. (Please reply)
I'm thinking about that. The only problem I have is that it's done chronologically musically as well as visually. To throw SR in at the end with the fanfare again may be repetitive. And I DEFINITELY think Chris deserves the end shot.
I think the biggest obstacle to SUBERBOY into the piece was a lack of GOOD QUALITY footage from the later seasons. I'm thinking of updating the footage when the DONNER CUT is released (because I had REALLY BAD quality stuff in this edit). Maybe a new one when they start releasing more seasons :-)
Christopher Reeve is the best...

but was superman a socialist at heart? was he for equality or just a stooge of the existing powers?

Excellent video! And I agree, just add Brandon Routh and you'll be made in the shade! Excellent tribute to THE greatest Super Hero of all time.

You could add scenes from SR but use the music 'The Planet Krypton' and keep the end shot with Chris for sure.
