  • I have been experiencing SEVERE chronic pain since 1997, and without the Fentanyl Patch (Mylan brand), I was on so soooo many other medications that I was afraid I might not wake up one day. The patch made all the difference in the world for me, and while I still experience severe pain, it is better managed and I've been able to stop taking the other medications that truly were a danger to me. This being said, anyone using the patch, be careful not to apply heat to it as it CAN cause OD..

  • without fentanyl would be mine live hell. after several operations at the back wheel (without success) I suffer since ago on hurt from dennen I did not know that it give. I am so gratefully which I plasters have otherwise could not I not run forwards to hurt Fentanyl saves my life

Sory for my bad english , greetings from Germany

  • There's got to be something else I can use to control my back pain

  • i love how you show this guys leg in your morphine video and ay that only the morphine is used to treat it and we all know thats not true but then you prove your bullshit in this video by showing an injury like that would need much more then some week ass morphine

  • yeah its SOOOO tightly regulated - So much so that my friends nan was given these by mistake!!

  • how nice they make this DEVIL DRUG sound. Do tons of research prior to use. Docs dont know shit about this drug and they dont know how to get a patient off of it.

  • actually they range from 12.5mcg/h to 100mcg/h

  • For chronic pain patients who get no relief from Morphine, I would suggest low-strength fentanyl to substitute for at least SOME of the regular morphine (or percoset) dosage--if you take over 25 mg. of morphine/MSContin per day, switch to 25 mcg Fentanyl (that's "microgram", not "miligram"; Fenty's about 100x morphine), for example. This is not a drug for opiate amatuers; if you're not well-versed in opioids, this isn't for you.

  • @scarletsmith please dont be giving bad advice to people about this drug, a 25 mcg patch is equivalent to 90mg of morphine daily. also you cannot start any fentanyl product unless you are on at least 60mg of morphine a day.

  • i am withdrawing from 100mcg at the moment. have been on it for over a year..i am in bits...trying to look at things to make the withdrawals a little better...i definately would never go on the patch again. you get real high for a number of hours and then you have to come down from the high and this goes on ever 4 days. i already suffer with depression so this is the last thing i needed. some pain doctors dont have a clue.

  • Have you at least been granted an intermediary opioid such as morphine sulfate for breakthrough pain?

I've never heard of a prescription regimen with Dura/ogesic without something to handle CBTP.

There are many comfortable ways to reduce dependence, though I can't go into detail here.

I was even prescribed Actiq successfully to step down, which was part of a clinical trial. It allowed pretty specific ~6 hour doses stepping down without discomfort. Quite amazing.

  • Fentanyl Is The BEst..... They Just Came Out With A New Kind..... Its Duragesic Brand But Its A Stamp.... Cant Wait 2 Eat One

  • @ballsweat69697 WOW! IDIOTS LIKE YOU are the reason people with LEGITIMATE chronic pain have such a difficult obtaining this drug. I broke my back, and ruptured many discs, my elbow, arm, and leg in a car wreck 3 years ago. I just was just switched on this medicine, and I take my pain meds as prescribed. People in terrible pain can find relief with this medicine when used properly. So FUCK you people who get them illegitimately. It makes REAL pain patient's lives so much more difficult.

  • @gadammit69 I TOTALLY agree. I suffer from chronic pain due to nerve damage from 2 surgeries. Im only 29 years old and I got the ole "youre too young for chronic pain" from many doctors. Finally I found a pain mgmt doctor that treats my pain, I take my pain meds as prescribed, and have been switched to the Fentanyl patch. I feel so much better, I havnt been pain free since 08. Now I am. Thank GOD for doctors who actually listen.

  • chew on them

  • Best opiate = Fentanyl. MUCH MUCH better than morphine.

  • MUCH, MUCH better. Also, an opioid (synthetic), not opiate.

  • i have the 75mcg/hr strength and i'm prescribed to wear 2 at once... and it does NOTHING for me. still in pain all the time. leaves me very little hope cuz there isn't much stronger to go to.

  • The Mylan version has nothing to tear apart - no gel, no nothng. I don't know why they leave Duragesic patches (name brand) on the market when the generic Mylan is cheaper, better, and safer.

  • i need this shit right now mang

  • I get 30 patches a month, I only pay $3, but without insurance, it's $1,100

  • this is the best stuff i wish i still where on them!

  • I was on 12.5 mcg and have been going through withdrawl for a week. It sucks!

  • fentanyl has a very short half, hence its high strength, the stronger, the shorter acting so withdrawl should be quick.

  • the worst part was about 10 days, but it really took like 8 weeks. I was on it (perscribed by a MD) for 2 1/2 years. Today I am wondering "what was I thinking?" I am in a LOT of pain, that stuff was doing more then I thought. But I am so done with painkillers. I won't die from being in pain. It just sucks.

  • 80 times more potent then Morphine!

  • aphentanyl is 80x strength of fentanyl!!!

  • If you try anything funny with this drug, you will die. Period. This ain't heroine or oxycontin. That stuff is baby candy compared to this. And the funny thing is you don't get high. You just die.

  • yeah whatever im on a patch right now.

  • I am on methadone, smoke ganja, and drink booze.

I went to dentist and was given fantanyl and medazolam(standard dental sedation), they had to give me about 10 times the dose they said, felt a bit wobbly and tried to talk with his hands in my mouth!

Aphentanyl is 80X strength of fentanyl!!!!! for horses and big animals.

  • Got a lot of friends who tear these patches apart and eat the gel inside. That takes one hell of a tolerance. It's dangerous and not recommended. Bad stuff if used irresponsibly.

  • I also lost a son at 24. He suffered from headaches. After practically being accused of been an addict he turned to drugs that were obtained illegally. He was not versed with the propper dosage and that was the result...his life! Dr's think they are gods. The patient should always be given the benefit of the doubt.I wonder how many others are driven to street drugs because of these often pompous morons!

  • That is so sad. I am very sorry for your loss. I am fortunate to have awesome doctors who LISTEN and are very observant as to whether or not people are trying to get their drug fix or if they are really sick or in pain. I wished your son could have been so lucky too. I don't know what I would do if I lost my daughter(only child-age 20)so I can't claim to know exactly what you are going through but I know it must be absolutely horrible. My deepest sympathy to you.

  • @ssaltspring : My favorite is the way these doctors prescribe the drugs, get the patients addicted to them, and then won't give them enough to taper off painlessly. How is it possible these jerks are allowed to get a way with doing this to people? This has to stop. Street drugs aren't even the problem anymore. It's the prescription meds people are strung out on these days. It's going to ruin our country.

  • @ssaltspring that is really unfortunate, I am worried I might lose my mom, she wont listen to me

  • i ate a fentenyl patch and overdosed.

hearing theses facts i can not believe i am still alive.

  • My son wasnt so lucky. He died. This drug is so addictive and so deadly. Thank God someone found you and you were able to be revived. I wish I would have known my son was dying. I thought he was just sleeping very hard; I walked out of the room and when I returned he was dead. The police came, the medical examiner, the police chaplain. They took my son away in a body bag. What a waste of life. He was a wonderful man and I miss him terribly. David was 21 years old. Forever 21.

  • It may be difficult for some people to believe, but NOT EVERYONE are druggies although prescription meds can be very addictive even in a controlled environment and many people do abuse them. I suffer from severe neck and back pain caused by an auto wreck. I just started taking fentanyl. I hope to have surgery soon and be able to NEVER have to take another pain pill or apply another patch. That would be more wonderful than HAVING to waste my life taking prescription drugs. I hate taking drugs!

  • im 28yrs of age and I have been on 'the patch for about 8 months to control my condition called RSD/CRPS. It was rough going on too it as it made me puke suddenly out of nowhere when I started. But after a couple weeks it stopped and my pain is WELL controlled. I give Kudos to jassen for this product. But yes, I know fentanyl is HIGHLY addictive... But darn is it nice not to be popping pain pills all day long.

  • Yes, it is nice not to have to take so many pills but it is also very scary to think about the possibility of addiction. I am not familiar with your condition but I hope it can be cured. I have been in pain management due to a car wreck for 8 YRS (just started Fentanyl) and I am hoping surgery will fix me but I am also somewhat worried whether I will have problems getting off the meds. Usually I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to do but I have received very harsh warnings about this drug.

  • been on fentanyl patches for two years for my osteoporosis, wow what a addicting drug,i had a whole box stolen from my house when i had guests over,..talk about withdrawles!!spent the night in the hospital cause i thought i was gonna die,now it seems like its never enough and i still take percocet 40 mg a day.ill start detox soon hopefully but am scared shitless

  • there aint no 40mg percs...

  • i take 40 mg in a day,mr pill book

  • i believe he meant his daily intake was 40mg of perc.

  • drip the gel on a cigarette fuks u up nice

  • i am on this and it does work well but never run out because when i did i got really sick and also it's highly wanted on the streets and i have already had a family member steal a couple of mine and to beat it all it was my iv drug using mom which is no longer in my life
