I wasn't born in Australia but ever since I migrated I am noticing I'm more passive, timid and unable to think clearly the way I did back in my non fluoridated country. My memory and mental functions have deteriorated since. I'm no longer going to drink tap water I will buy bottled from now on and save up to buy a filter. I don't believe they do it because they really care about your teeth there are other sinister reasons behind it.

@TheMick5429 Apparently the legislation has been made so that no one can take legal action against water companies and governments that implement the mandatory addition of this junk into our water. Industry KNOW it's bad for us, that's why these measures have been taken.
The levels of fluoride in the US tap water is minimal. It causes no health problems. Chlorine is also in our drinking water but the levels are so low it doesn't really matter.

Queensland added it to the water a year or two ago which irritates me. I've stopped using fluoride toothpaste and I'm seriously considering an undersink reverse osmosis water filter to remove this crap. In the meantime I'm buying water in the supermarket that claims to have no fluoride in it, and I'm fairly confident it doesn't because I also have a TDS water meter that tells me it's exceptionally clean.
@lumabi25 tds isnt gonna tell you if fluoride is in your water...you need to have it tested for fluoride. Also I work at a water facility we are not happy about putting flouride in the water. But the state just passed a law requiring it. They passed the bill after the EPA just came out 1 month prior & suggested to lower the ppm(parts per million) it is fed at.

you can buy an awesome machine which makes water from air humidity, up to 28 liters a day from the smallest machine, its awesome and comes from a company called Ecoblue, no fluoride and no relying on taps!!!

@DistantDreamer93 Tea leaves, food products processed in fluoridated areas, and anything made from non-organic fruits and vegetables treated with fluoride pesticides. The US Department of Agriculture has compiled a list of fluoride content in common food products (find by googling). I'm unsure how well it applies to food outside of the US, but it could serve as an indicator.
@revjection Reverse osmosis, distillation, activated alumina filtration. Carbon filters will not work well, and boiling your water will only concentrate the fluoride content.
@revjection - there are filters, both for your tap and your whole house. As another post stated, distillation is a way... but would be complicated, I'd think for large quantities of water.

The levels of fluoride in the US tap water is minimal. It causes no health problems. Chlorine is also in our drinking water but the levels are so low it doesn't really matter.

Queensland added it to the water a year or two ago which irritates me. I've stopped using fluoride toothpaste and I'm seriously considering an undersink reverse osmosis water filter to remove this crap. In the meantime I'm buying water in the supermarket that claims to have no fluoride in it, and I'm fairly confident it doesn't because I also have a TDS water meter that tells me it's exceptionally clean.

But the state just passed a law requiring it. They passed the bill after the EPA just came out 1 month prior & suggested to lower the ppm(parts per million) it is fed at.

Reverse Osmosis water purification systems are widely available, so actual distillation is not required. Get one at least for the water you drink and cook with. Whole house systems are also available.

Fluoride is a waste product of the aluminium production. It would have to be treated as a poison and the disposal would be quite expensive. However, it's a lot cheaper to give it away for free to then be added to tooth paste or drinking water. Fluoride is not free. It costs money to be put in water...Sodium fluoride costs .84/pound or if you use fluorosilic acid 0.38/pound. The bags of fluoride have crossbones on them.
Though Arkansas house/senate just passed a mandatory law requiring fluoride be put in drinking water just after the EPA suggested lowering the ppm requirement from 1.0 to 0.7, though where we are located it occurs naturally 0.3-0.5 unless our water supply is tainted from processed wastewater being put lake.

@ghosthoundstv Fluoride is a cumulative poison though, it collects in the body over time in areas such as the pineal gland causing crystallization and deposition also in the bones. So after 30 or 40 years of drinking fluoride and using other products the levels can reach dangerous levels.

The US Department of Agriculture has compiled a list of fluoride content in common food products (find by googling). @owr1 The US media have done some good stories on this, but to my knowledge they've not listed the contaminants and called the products what they are - toxic waste, from fertiliser and aluminium manufacture. That was brave of Today Tonight. Help spread the word!
