they are slow cuz 2 reasons. reason #1 if u have 2 or more devices connected to a router its connection gets slower

reason #2 is that your modem is hell slow!!!! im sure it has a few kilobytes. If the test was in another place where the internet was faster the 2g will probably loaded all the pages in 6 secs.

This was an unfair test because the iPod touch 1G is jailbroken. Even though we know it will still be faster the 1G still shouldn't have been that slow because it's jailbroken and that means the memory is being used by other things than just the safari. The jailbreak does slow down the iPod touch and it will slow down the safari loading process

I like the ipod touch 2g, but at the same time the nanosilver in the back of it makes it look worse (in my opinion). 1g has the looks and 2g has the performance. I guess I could get a case for the itouch 2g=-(.

I have a touch G1 and it has "flick" functions for example when leaving a song and going "back" into previous menus. Does the G2 have the same functions?

Anybody saying the 1G is better is wrong.

The only reason yours is faster is because you have faster internet than him, so of course it's going to be faster. But if you ran them side by side, the 2G would be faster.

If you wanted a good speed test, you should have done a full restore for both iPods. Both of then would have probably been a bit faster.

ok I tested my 1g touch vs this 2g touch in the video, and mine won in all of the tests...I don't get what your talking about. Maybe it's cause I got comcast or internet and this guy has something slower...

It would only be a fair test if you have a 1g iPod touch and a 2g side by side and test them on the same network. The reason why your 1g is faster than the 2g in my video is probably because you have faster Internet than me.

Even if the 1G was faster, the 2G's superior processor would allow it to render large web pages faster. You wouldn't be able to tell as much with small sites though.

i got my rendered in 4 seconds. the stats should tell you how fast it would render if you can do the math i mean 1729.610kbps is pretty quick just tell me a large website il see how fast because i did not actually loaded a site in 4 seconds but i did download a program off the app storee called speed test

Actually... The one on the left is jailbroken because it has 5 dock icons, and five row icons. Apple does not allow that, only jailbroken iPod can. It's called Five Icon Dock, and FiveIrow.

plus there isnt a difference from 1g to 2g in internet speed, just proccessor speed, so a real test would also have to be with applications or games, because the processor just lets it to load the actuall apps faster and nothing to do with internet speed or connection

by the way this isnt a valid test because one is jailbroken, and jailbroken app do not follow apples gidelines in background running, so there for the 2g has more RAM available for internet and stuff because its not jailbroken, and i have yet to find a real speed test comparison with both the ipod touches in the same state.

its 3g, not gb, gb is giga byte and its memory, while 3g is network speed, and if u want to not pay for all of the att plans for internet and th 2 year contract, then the iphone 3g by itself is like 1200$
