i wanted the glock 19 at 1st but picked the glock 17 because it felt better in my hands...im only 5'5 with normal size hands and the 17 didn't feel big it just felt right...
Thanks for the video, it's good and answered the questions that I had. I like that you showed them IN YOUR HAND which gave me a good visualisation of the difference between them. THanks!
Great VID! I have the 19 and 26 gen-3. I wasnt sold on the 4th gen when looking for a 26 which i was specifically looking for a gen3. I used to dislike glocks and thought it was a mistake getting my glock 19, but i def learned to love it and got a 26 later. ive recently been debating on getting a used glock 17 gen2/3. They got tons of used standard sized glocks at my local gun shop on sale for 380s Been debating on buying one for range/camping/shtf gun.
@Ag47SilverSurfer oh yeah, you forgot to mention the most important part of glocks. Glocks have a polygonal rifling which you will also find in HK's handguns. i got this from the glock site in the specs.
The GLOCK polygonal barrel rifling reduces wear and tear on the barrel and creates better bullet-to-barrel fit. This minimizes barrel residue and produces consistent and increased bullet velocity, resulting in enhanced accuracy.
@mujdatozc Well, I think it depends on a couple of things. The most important factor is whether you plan to carry or not. If you think you might eventually carry some day, I say go with the 19. If you plan on just going to the range, either will do. Also, larger hands might accommodate the 17 a little more, but the 19 is capable of being a service sized weapon if it needs to be. The word "compact" is used misleadingly by Glock in my opinion. Hope I helped.
You say it's a "contra" that you can't use 19's and 26's magazines on the 17?! wtf haha, thats very obvious isn't it? I get the point ;) but that shouldn't be a "con" - it's physics... ^^ haha
Btw: why would you want to use smaller magazines anyway?
I would advise everyone not to get G19(Gen4) and dnt believe the hype either because I own one;I am very dissapointed and now im stuck with it.Some people are just followers and refuse to believe the truth about whats going on with the glock 19 (Gen4). if you looking for something to protect your family get a Beretta or Sig Sauer because you dnt want something that might work sometimes. Glocks are not cheap either because I got me a nice beretta Px4 storm (40sw) 4 the same price as the glock 19.
I just purchased a 17 and I'm happy with it. I held a 19 and it felt a little small in my hands (big guy/large hands). I don't think you can go wrong with either one for the price. ($500).
In the end I hope I never have to use the gun outside the range.
Good vid,I love mine, but how can you do a comparison without firing all of them?I would love to see a rested hand, target comparison. It took me a long time to buy into the whole plastic pistol idea.I had plastic pistols when I was a kid!!!But then I noticed a few years ago that 95% of cops in America carry Glocks,so I had to try one,or two,now have 3.I still love my Colt Custom Combat Commander in .45,but "Glocks Rocks".
Thanks a lot for this video, I'm not a Glock guy but recently I have been wondering about them. Your video finally cleared up the different model numbers. I think I'll get a 19 for ccw. Thanks for your time and effort
Any suggestions on ways to conceal the 19. i'm looking to get one for concealed carry and i'd much rather go with the 19 over the 26 but I want it to be something I could conceal with no problem. Thanks.
As far as ammo the S&B FMJ's do hit with 414 ! Fiocci Shooting Dynamics has a 115 gr FMJ that hits with 464 ft-lbs ! As for hollowpoints Federal HST 124 gr +P, Gold Dot 124 gr +P, Bonded Golden Sabre 124 gr +P, Ranger T in any style are good, Ranger 115 +P+, Hornady TAP 124 gr +P and 147 gr +P, and the Federal 124 +P and +P+ Hydrashok are good. Federal's quality has gone down though. Their casings dent from loading and unloading and they are using a cheaper grade of copper on their jackets !
If you compare the 19 with the 26 with the 12 round pinky extension mag, they are almost the same size ! While the 26 does look cool with the extension, it would be more practical to just go with the Glock 19 form the beginning. I think you just helped me make up my mind ! I was debating between the 17 & 26, now im going to go with the 19 ! I had a Glock 21 that I did carry and it is a tad too large. I could always get the 26 later on because I justy like the little pistol, I'll start with 19.
Ya I wouldn't get into cal since there all 9 MILLI . I could see you getting all the same cal since that's the caliber your Dept uses but dam some times you need to step out of the mold and go with a G27 or G36 for back up . Your Dept cant be that hard up!!!!!!!!!
The only thing you are missing is 2 pistols in Generation 1 and 2 pistols in Generation 2, 9mm. For those of us that have been OGG, as in OG Glock folks, we know what the Generation 2 was like. We even have some Glock boxes that say, 1987 Pistol of the Year Award. Back when the boxes were plastic with a flat rimmed lid. And I disagree, all glocks are great for Concealed Carry. Way comfortable in the small of the back, comfortable against the skin and while driving, no problem.
@Delticola While I am glad carrying in the small of the back works great for you, it doesn't work for everyone. I agree that the 19 and 26 can be carried concealed without too much effort, the 17 does push it just a little. It's not impossible to carry the 17 concealed, but I think even you have to agree that its not practical. It's far easier to conceal a 26 than it is a 17. P.S, the vid was to compare the different sizes, not generations of the Glocks, though I do have a vid with my Gen 2 up.

@GlockyWithIt Ok, certainly, no problem, opinions are great. The best thing about them is that every opinion is valued. Can you imagine a Glock 17 Plus one in the chamber and a 2 Plus on the magazine? That's twenty rounds. Then can you imagine all 20 rounds being 9mm +p+? Then a couple of magazines on the belt. That's like having an entire seal team at your disposal, figuratively speaking. Yeah, I normally don't try to carry the 17, I normally carry the 23. My 23 has 16 years of carry.
@Delticola Ya the 17 was never made for carrying concealed, it was made for holster carry by law enforcement. A job it does very well. Its a great range gun too, first gun I learned to shoot on was a first Gen Glock 17
@GlockyWithIt The service models are great range guns for those of us who dont carry open (much) but I agree the 19 is my favorite for its versatility. As far as the full size models go, I had a 19 which is the same grip as a 17 but I tried a G21 and that grip seemed huge. Maybe my memory, but my hands aren't that small, probably similar to yours. Have you tried the 21 or 20? What do you think? I thought reachng the trigger was uncomfortable.
@Manjottoor007 In a 9mm? I'd definitely say go with the bonded Speer Gold Dot in 124gr +p. I'd go as far as saying it's the best 9mm ammo available today (in my opinion). There are other great 9mm rounds as well. Remington Golden Sabre offers a bonded +p as well. Winchester Ranger 127gr +p is good. Those are some of the best I've seen. Hornady makes good stuff. So does Federal. Have you tried their 115gr +p+ hi-shok rounds? They pack a good kick. I practice with them, tho I don't carry them.
@GlockyWithIt thank you very much for replying, but I have one more question (as I'm a rookie in this matter lol). As you just said I could use "+p" 9mm's for glock 17, I thought I could only use there regular. and what does "+p" mean?
and again I appreciate you help very much. thanks.
@Manjottoor007 I personally carry either a Glock 19 or Glock 26 for daily concealed carry in a Kydex holster. I recommend the WInchester 127-grain +P+ SXT for self-defense ammo. It has one of the best record in actual shootings as indicated in terminal ballistics testing against ballistic gel. FWIW.
Have the 19, 26, & full size 40. I swear I read the 17 & 19 took the same clips. I'll take ur word because I was gonna sell the 40 cal to get down to buying 1 caliber of round. All the local shops don't even have a 17, because the 19 is sooo popular. I'd have to order, but I imagine it's close to identical to what I'd sell. Gotta lot of mags though, even some 33 Rd mags. You're I can't put then in a 17?

If you had to pick 1 out of the 17 or 19... which would it be?? For home defense gun car gun and range gun.. Im stuck between the gen 4 17 or 19.. Ive shot both both feel the exact same.. but you own both so what are the pros and cons and which would you choose if you could only keep one...
I just turned 18 a week ago and i have 400 or so in paychecks but i was wondering the name of the far left one and the price and if you can inform me how can i aquire a carry lisense
@stableElephant Far left is the Glock 17. You're probably gonna need a little more than $400 if you want one brand new. Also, I don't know too many states that issue "handgun" permits to people under 21 years old. At 18, I think all you can have is a rifle permit. That's how it is in Florida so let me know if your state is different.
@GlockyWithIt Hey, great video. I just wanted to correct you on Florida law. In Florida there is no permit required to purchase any type of firearm. There is no registration of firearms. 18 years old for rifles and shotguns and 21 for handguns from a FFL dealer. Private sales are at least 18 years and my buy handguns. Also a person 18 years of age my carry a loaded handgun in their car as long as it is securely encased, glovebox etc... 21 years old to get a CWFL.
@GlockyWithIt There is no such thing as a rifle permit in Florida. In Florida you can apply for a concealed weapon or firearm license at age 21. You may posess a rifle or pistol at age 18, but you may not carry a pistol concealed or open in public.
On a side note, I had the pearce grip magplate extension on my G26 and my G27. On both weapons it would pinch the inside of my finger when the weapon would cycle. I do not recommend them at all.
@stableElephant He's right, the only thing you can buy right now is a rifle.
I say get a Marlin 60. They're around $150 for the blued barrel or $200 for stainless steel. IMHO, it's the best deal for price vs. accuracy vs. fun factor.
AND since it's chambered in .22 lr you can shoot the hell out of it cheaply.
@stableElephant In most states if you buy it "second-hand", and not from a dealer I believe you can own one as long as your 18. So just get your dad to buy it, and transfer it to you.
@stableElephant Dude, you just turned 18 and you don't even know what the name of the gun in this video is. Sounds like a bad idea PLEASE don't run out and buy a handgun and carry it around just for the hell of it or because you think its cool without any training or knowledge of firearms and their purpose. Deciding to purchase and carry a handgun is a life changing decision that you have to train for mentally and physically if you want to be able to protect yourself and not hurt innocent people
@stableElephant This is why you shouldn't own a gun. Immature and stupid kids like you are just a shining example of why anti gun activists want to take our guns and if all gun owners were like you, I wouldn't blame them.
@stableElephant Stupid kid, you'll kill yourself if you get a gun.. not protect anyone. And stop mentioning America, you are the kind of idiot that gives us Americans a bad name.
@stableElephant After seeing your page full of nerdy call of duty videos, you lying about your age, and your taste in shitty music (rap) I know understand why you are so fucking stupid. I'm not worried about you owning a gun, you'll just put your eye out from holding it like a gang banger when a hot shell casing melts into your cornea.
i want a glock so badly, i love my SR9 but i shoot so much better with glocks. now it's either a 17 or 19. i prefer to keep it in the 9mm family, not worry about stopping power cause i do shoot pretty good groupings at 7 yards (basically home defense distance).
@12robertmulligan Depends on where you go. Generally, you're looking at anywhere from $499-649 stock unless you have some kind of government/law enforcement discount.
Good video. I like the way you highlight mag interchangability. This means you are thinking about a total system. I've got a 26 with +1 mag bases when it's in the holster with a spare G17 with me at all times. This system is really low profile and high firepower. Nice job Glocky!
good video. I am 6'1". I shot a 19 and a 17..had to go with the 17. Both duty carry and supertuck, its fine as a spring/winter/fall CCW. I use a .357 stub for my summer CCW. With a light over shirt or tee, I will go with the .357. Any bulkier type of jacket like a wind breaker of hoody I carry the 17 with the +2 extension even. In a suit coat I just go with the standard magazine, 4 O'Clock supertuck. I can get away with this due to my size. A smaller framed person may not.
Very good video and review without the needless babble and goofiness of a nutnfancy review. I would suggest getting a better mic though, I really had to turn up my speakers to hear you clearly
One of the only things I don't like about the Glock 19 is the serrated trigger. Luckily the smooth faced trigger of the model 17 fits the model 19. The shorter barreled Glocks are actually more accurate than the longer barreled model 17. They are more difficult to shoot accurately because of the shorter grip frame and shorter sight radius. But when mounted in something like a ransom rest, they are more accurate! All barrels vibrate when a round is fired. The shorter ones are more rigid.
@lean574 yah... considering that Glock's safety is sitting on the trigger, it can get snag onto something when you're tucking it in your pants or pulling it off... its really a wise choice to get a holster... better get those balls safe than sorry they say... hahaha!!!
@a2racing79 nutnfancy, who is that? is that a girly channel, sure doesn't sound like a gun channel. Maybe does cleaning tips on home economics and such.
@a2racing79 If you think nutnfancy is the only good source on youtube for info on this stuff you haven't looked very much. Hickok45's channel is ton's better than nutnfancy.
Why are they telling me that the full size glock 17 I want to purchase, can only carry 10 rounds. In this video the glock 17 carries 17 rounds carries and the guy says it's full size. Please help?
@M6teenbam323 Depending on your state of residence, your magazine capacity may be limited to only 10 rounds. States such as California, New York, and Massachusetts only allow a maximum magazine capacity of 10 so if you were to purchase a G17 from one of those states, you'd have to have the modified 10 round magazine for that gun.
I don't know how lefties would do with a standard Glock. The ejection of the spent cartridge is thrown to the right which would be right into your face if shooting left handed. I've never seen a left hand model. Good luck.
I have all three; a 17 Compensated, 19 and a recently purchased 26. For ultimate concealment, you can't beat the 26 and its accuracy is spot on with the larger frame longer barrel models. Accuracy is just a matter of familiarity and comfort with the weapon. I like the fact that the larger capacity mags also fit the 26 so I don't have to carry extras and it solves the pinky overwrap. My absolute favorite weapon however is my Glock 22 .40 cal. For knockdown punch, there's nothing better.
Good comparisons. This will be my first gun. After watching you grip the 19, I'm not sure that I'll like my pinky sitting on the edge of the magazine. I guess I'll have to try it myself at the store.
An ad for a 19 said, "right hand". Would this be for a right-handed person? I'm a lefty.
The one thing I would change in the cons would be stating that it's not really noticeably less accurate, just more difficult to shoot well than the larger ones (which you still implied in parenthesis). Otherwise I like the review.

great help, much thanks! but could you please tell me what are the best ammo for Glock 17 and 19 (please include the grains and stuff).
Thanks again.
Manjottoor007 6 months ago 10
GlockyWithIt 6 months ago
@GlockyWithIt thank you very much for replying, but I have one more question (as I'm a rookie in this matter lol). As you just said I could use "+p" 9mm's for glock 17, I thought I could only use there regular. and what does "+p" mean?
and again I appreciate you help very much. thanks.
Manjottoor007 6 months ago 2
@GlockyWithIt I thought Glock said not to use +p loads for fear of kaboom
siesonekmk 6 months ago
@GlockyWithIt Sellior And Bellot S&B puts out over 414 foot pounds of energy and is not +P. FEDERAL SUCKS!
Doyouknowhowmuchusuc 5 months ago

I just turned 18 a week ago and i have 400 or so in paychecks but i was wondering the name of the far left one and the price and if you can inform me how can i aquire a carry lisense
stableElephant 8 months ago
@stableElephant Far left is the Glock 17. You're probably gonna need a little more than $400 if you want one brand new. Also, I don't know too many states that issue "handgun" permits to people under 21 years old. At 18, I think all you can have is a rifle permit. That's how it is in Florida so let me know if your state is different.
GlockyWithIt 8 months ago
@GlockyWithIt In michigan, we can actually buy pistols but NOT from an FFL. LOL. how fucked up is that? haha, pretty nice though for me.
airic554 7 months ago
@GlockyWithIt Hey, great video. I just wanted to correct you on Florida law. In Florida there is no permit required to purchase any type of firearm. There is no registration of firearms. 18 years old for rifles and shotguns and 21 for handguns from a FFL dealer. Private sales are at least 18 years and my buy handguns. Also a person 18 years of age my carry a loaded handgun in their car as long as it is securely encased, glovebox etc... 21 years old to get a CWFL.
UnitDead 7 months ago
@GlockyWithIt There is no such thing as a rifle permit in Florida. In Florida you can apply for a concealed weapon or firearm license at age 21. You may posess a rifle or pistol at age 18, but you may not carry a pistol concealed or open in public.
On a side note, I had the pearce grip magplate extension on my G26 and my G27. On both weapons it would pinch the inside of my finger when the weapon would cycle. I do not recommend them at all.
cabldawg 6 months ago
@stableElephant He's right, the only thing you can buy right now is a rifle.
I say get a Marlin 60. They're around $150 for the blued barrel or $200 for stainless steel. IMHO, it's the best deal for price vs. accuracy vs. fun factor.
AND since it's chambered in .22 lr you can shoot the hell out of it cheaply.
sharkinfested 7 months ago
@sharkinfested cool
stableElephant 7 months ago
@stableElephant In most states if you buy it "second-hand", and not from a dealer I believe you can own one as long as your 18. So just get your dad to buy it, and transfer it to you.

@stableElephant wait 3 years and save another $150

@stableElephant Dude, you just turned 18 and you don't even know what the name of the gun in this video is. Sounds like a bad idea PLEASE don't run out and buy a handgun and carry it around just for the hell of it or because you think its cool without any training or knowledge of firearms and their purpose. Deciding to purchase and carry a handgun is a life changing decision that you have to train for mentally and physically if you want to be able to protect yourself and not hurt innocent people

i want a glock so badly, i love my SR9 but i shoot so much better with glocks. now it's either a 17 or 19. i prefer to keep it in the 9mm family, not worry about stopping power cause i do shoot pretty good groupings at 7 yards (basically home defense distance).

Bubba198823 10 months ago
One of the only things I don't like about the Glock 19 is the serrated trigger. Luckily the smooth faced trigger of the model 17 fits the model 19. The shorter barreled Glocks are actually more accurate than the longer barreled model 17. They are more difficult to shoot accurately because of the shorter grip frame and shorter sight radius. But when mounted in something like a ransom rest, they are more accurate! All barrels vibrate when a round is fired. The shorter ones are more rigid.
LarryC213 10 months ago
is it legal to just tuck a pistol in your pants instead of using a holster? ive seen some holsters that are made to tuck in your pants too
lean574 11 months ago
@lean574 IMHO, for safety reasons it would be good to have an "inside-the-pants" holster if you like tucking your gun in your pants. :)
xuv186 10 months ago
@xuv186 lol thats what i was thinkin i dont wanna blow my balls off haha
lean574 10 months ago
@lean574 yah... considering that Glock's safety is sitting on the trigger, it can get snag onto something when you're tucking it in your pants or pulling it off... its really a wise choice to get a holster... better get those balls safe than sorry they say... hahaha!!!

Why are they telling me that the full size glock 17 I want to purchase, can only carry 10 rounds. In this video the glock 17 carries 17 rounds carries and the guy says it's full size. Please help?
M6teenbam323 11 months ago
@M6teenbam323 Depending on your state of residence, your magazine capacity may be limited to only 10 rounds. States such as California, New York, and Massachusetts only allow a maximum magazine capacity of 10 so if you were to purchase a G17 from one of those states, you'd have to have the modified 10 round magazine for that gun.
GlockyWithIt 11 months ago
where do you buy this
46airsoft 11 months ago
I don't know how lefties would do with a standard Glock. The ejection of the spent cartridge is thrown to the right which would be right into your face if shooting left handed. I've never seen a left hand model. Good luck.
debauchee1 11 months ago
I have all three; a 17 Compensated, 19 and a recently purchased 26. For ultimate concealment, you can't beat the 26 and its accuracy is spot on with the larger frame longer barrel models. Accuracy is just a matter of familiarity and comfort with the weapon. I like the fact that the larger capacity mags also fit the 26 so I don't have to carry extras and it solves the pinky overwrap. My absolute favorite weapon however is my Glock 22 .40 cal. For knockdown punch, there's nothing better.
debauchee1 11 months ago
Good comparisons. This will be my first gun. After watching you grip the 19, I'm not sure that I'll like my pinky sitting on the edge of the magazine. I guess I'll have to try it myself at the store.
An ad for a 19 said, "right hand". Would this be for a right-handed person? I'm a lefty.
Thanks for posting this vid.

Love the powerpoint! I actually learnd things about the 17 and 19. But always been a fan of the 19.
BizzieMatthews 11 months ago
The one thing I would change in the cons would be stating that it's not really noticeably less accurate, just more difficult to shoot well than the larger ones (which you still implied in parenthesis). Otherwise I like the review.
