They were never banned. It was an agreement by the manufactures to stop producing them with the CPSC Consummer Safety product commission. (abbreviated it wrong first time). Nowadays with all the lawsuits, and the CPSC, they would never be produced. But there is one Chinese company that offers a kit to make one.

Easiest conversion ive seen for newer 3 wheeelers is
using a dirtbike frame, changing the rear swinger to a quad one, and swapping the triple t for ones that hold the big wheel up front.

there are some guys who convert new quads to three wheelers, it only requires a few cuts and welds

dude...3 wheelers were banned from 1987/88-1997, theyre perfectly legal now, and production models are perfectly legal to make. whats csps?
