I saw AIC play Miami on 12/13/91 when they opened for Van Halen. Layne had shaved his head. At the time, while I thought they performed well, I didn't really GET the whole grunge movement and as a result, didn't fully appreciate their performance. But always trying to keep an open mind, I watched them intensely! Now, I have all of AIC's albums and consider Jerry Cantrell to be one of the top guitarist/writers of all time!

I don't usually comment but that vocal, especially at the end, is one of the greatest things I have ever heard. You always hear people talk about 'soaring vocals' but that is truly it. You think he is just unleashing a deadly scream but then he pulls it back in with perfect control. I've not heard any singer manage to sing as aggressively as Layne but still have such a warmth to their voice
