I've been a fan of this series since the manga came out. I was impressed how well they translated the story from art to animation, though, they did change some of the story by adding a couple of characters. I love the Japanese voice acting, haven't heard the English yet though. :)

Manga is different from origonal story.

The REAL story which the anime follows is actually from the Light novels. Their are 17 light novels for this series and Season 1 and 2 only cover 4 of the light novels...

@Heavykiller1 actually manga is hardly different from original story. If anything, it remained more true because they didn't replace Yarei with Chloe (Chloe is anime-only). Also, unlike the anime, we can rely on the manga to actually finish and not skip volume 4.

I have my hopes for the anime to finish since Spice and Wolf is officially over but the studio responsible for it, Brain Base, has a habit of owning properties that they don't make sequels to (Baccano,Durarara, Jellyfish Princess).

well spice and wolf is based on light novels that do continue the story, and they are available to buy in english, published by yen press of the hachette book group. but they are available to read online in the spanish and brazilian languages on baka-tsuki

I love the opening song and images. They are so fitting. Ah and the animation style (like the details of the surroundings). Heh, the song especially becomes even more fitting when you read the novels. Even ignoring the well-suited lyrics the tone and such of the song is perfect for the novel and anime alike. Somehow don't see it fitting the manga though, wonder why...cus I like it too...whatever.
