The car with all the girls crashes head on into the silver car, they come to rest on the side of the road that the silver car was travelling on, yet the maroon car crashes into the 2, but it is coming in the direction of the girls car, therefore it too is on the wrong side... I guess that driver was texting too, what are the chances! Unrealistic crash!

Good but horrific video. We have a law in place against using a phone in this way - the problem is that it is ignored by many. A practical step would be to come down severely on any motorist using a phone illegally by using plain clothes policemen. More application of the law is necessary.

At 0:13 there is a blue car behind the Mondeo. At 0:43 that car is stopping, past the accident, in the wrong lane. Obviously, its driver was too close behind the Mondeo, or not paying attention, and had to swerve around the collision. The driver of the red Fiesta, faced with a car coming straight at him, tried to go between the oncoming car and the wreck. He didn't make it.
Perhaps the final edit will make this clearer, though it's already there to see if you look properly.
I think this is an awesome commercial. Of course it's hard to watch for some people but the warning is clear!! NEVER drive during you drive any kind of vehicle. I prefer to wait till I stop anywhere and THEN continue texting. Drive save guys!!

I would like to say 11yr ago I was involved in a car accident and was seriously hurt and my best mate actually died. I was driving at the time but not texting, but this really hit home and really upset me and made me cry. another my officer had resulted in a male driver with 2 female passengers. He was distracted and hit the side of a tabletop truck. He surfvice, the passenger seat lady wasn't wearing a belt and had bee completely jammed into the footweell under the dash. I've had another young fellow who was speeding in hit shitty suped up mercedes have his face entirely removed at his head got wedged between the windcreen and his airbag. He couldn't talk and only had a stump of a nose and some lips. He just sat their gurglig. WE romoved him from the car but he was only technically alive, never had is to hospital.

Sad but not believable. The accident, at least for me was way over the top. There was no moment where I watched that and thought 'yeah, this is a car accident and this would really happen.' Not saying it's not powerful and that it wont deter people from texting and driving, but it was just over done.
There was no moment where you thought this would really happen? What if this was a video about kids drinking and driving and the same result happened? Would you have the same feelings then? I think not. Truth is, this could really happen, just hasn't yet in this graphic of detail. Look at how many deaths are caused each year by drinking and driving. Both take away your inability to focus on the road and this is what the video is portraying.
Even if it were a video about drinking and driving, I'd still have the same reaction. I've sat through too many of these, seen and heard the same thing of and over again, that at this point it doesn't affect me anymore. I think this is an awesome commercial. Of course it's hard to watch for some people but the warning is clear!! NEVER drive during you drive any kind of vehicle. I prefer to wait till I stop anywhere and THEN continue texting. Drive save guys!!

i think anybody that laughs at this video is stupid! This could happen to anyone. This video almost made me cry, and it made me realize that it could happen within a second. I think this video should be played in drivers ed and other places. Maybe people will realize how serious this really is.

the driver = my ex gf :).. so proud of this girl and what shes done. as long as people get the damn message. stuff like this needs to be shown in schools, driving school centres.. Everywere, so the message is clear! :)

I would like to say 11yr ago I was involved in a car accident and was seriously hurt and my best mate actually died. I was driving at the time but not texting, but this really hit home and really upset me and made me cry. This can happen to anyone at any time even if its not you that causes it, Remember everyone please to take care when driving

another my officer had resulted in a male driver with 2 female passengers. He was distracted and hit the side of a tabletop truck. He surfvice, the passenger seat lady wasn't wearing a belt and had bee completely jammed into the footweell under the dash. Her body was completely shatted and she died in minuted from internal bleeding.

I've had another young fellow who was speeding in hit shitty suped up mercedes have his face entirely removed at his head got wedged between the windcreen and his airbag. He couldn't talk and only had a stump of a nose and some lips. He just sat their gurglig. WE romoved him from the car but he was only technically alive, never had is to hospital.

and as of all those niave kids who say that its not as realistic or gorly as real TV you live a sheltered life. This video is less graphic then the real thing. In 4 years of seryice i have held a severed lover leg for hours simply becuase the femoral artery was still attached and the only thing keeping the young man alive as air lifeted paramdcis poured an addition 5 litres of blood into him. It slopped so bad it made cutting up the car had as it acted like a lublicant.

I can't stand it when I hear people think that things like this can't ever happen to them. I'm sure that the driver was one of those who thought she was invinsible and that something like this could never happen because she can text and drive at the same time. People are not invinsible. This can happen to anyone no matter how good of a driver you are.

Sad but not believable. The accident, at least for me was way over the top. There was no moment where I watched that and thought 'yeah, this is a car accident and this would really happen.' Not saying it's not powerful and that it wont deter people from texting and driving, but it was just over done.

There was no moment where you thought this would really happen? What if this was a video about kids drinking and driving and the same result happened? Would you have the same feelings then? I think not. Truth is, this could really happen, just hasn't yet in this graphic of detail. Look at how many deaths are caused each year by drinking and driving. Both take away your inability to focus on the road and this is what the video is portraying.

Even if it were a video about drinking and driving, I'd still have the same reaction. I've sat through too many of these, seen and heard the same thing of and over again, that at this point it doesn't affect me anymore. I know it happens, and its always horrible when it does, but I guess I've just become numb to it. Also, it always just seemed like common sense to me; you just don't distract yourself while driving.

You have to realize that this is targeted at teens. it is scientifically proven that our brains are not fully developed until age 25, previously said to be 18. Sometimes what is common sense to an adult, is normal to do for young adults and teens!

Yeh, pretty full on. Young people these days have so much technology. In this particular case, anyone has to remain vigilant, especially an inexperienced driver. People have to always consider their surroundings while driving on the highway or any road for that matter. If this was a real situation, imagine how that girl is going to feel for the rest of her life knowing the damage she's done just because of a stupid bloody text message !

I find it real sad how often people end up taking themselves out. It think it goes beyond common sense, cause the respect you have for things makes all the difference. In my high school, we had one kid shoot himself accidentaly when playing around with a pistol he owned and had no respect for. Other had no respect for stop signs, and pulled out in front of a log truck. Another lost his girlfriend so he went drinking and drove off a hill. Those three would still be alive had they had some respect

Now if only stupid people like that killed themselves more often in brutal, vicious, traumatizing horrible ways that left their friends and family in excruciating pain (Physical or emotional, it doesn't matter which). I would wake up early every day to watch you humans kill yourselves off until not one of you remained. That would by itself be the most beautiful thing in the world.
