Any electric bike can go 150 miles per charge if you bring a big enough battery.
Example: If you have a 350 watt motor and a 36v 10ah battery (36x10-360 watt/hours) you can go 1 hr without pedaling if mostly flat.. If you want to go twice as long, you will have to add at least 7lbs in form of a second 10ah battery.
If you want a 700 watt motor, you will only go for 30 minutes at full power.
No motor can be more efficient than 100%, the rest is creative marketing. -BC
@carbo914 It takes about 5-6 hours for a full recharge, however you could get an 80% charge in about 3 hours if you need to get somewhere quickly. -Peter
@dimension2793 I agree, if you are looking for something to go racing with. 40mph is not safe on a bicycle and highly illegal in most states. Heavy, high powered motors can be purchased cheap on ebay for like $300. The Forza is a nicely integrated, well riding, reliable bike. Its not about power on electric bikes otherwise we would strap a 5000 watt $80 motor on a bike and call it the "best electric bike"
@mastax1234 I think people spend more money for electric because it is quite, produces no smell or exhaust, and is much more discrete. An electric bike is much easier to blend into a crowded city and doesn't cause as much disturbance. - Peter
@nycewheels Most Definitely. If you live in a rural or lax suburban area, buy a gas kit. If your area is uptight or a crowded city, you might need to go electric. Gas is better for long distance, electric is better for short. You will get better acceleration with electric and better mileage with gas.
@GarrettBMXes the gas ones are eco-friendly, they get 100 miles per gallon, have more power, and you don't have to dispose of a heavy lithium battery when they go bad. The electric ones are neat but they cost much more and you have to charge the battery for hours, gas you just fill them up, pop the clutch and go.
@suckitgood101 They are actually kits you can buy off the internet. The most common and cheaper engines are the small 2 stroke engines but you can also buy 4 stroke. You bolt these engines to the frame of a bicycle of your choice and you run a motorcycle chain to a sprocket that bolts to the spokes of the rear wheel. You start pedaling and release the clutch to start and engage the engine. Look up "gas bike kit" on a search engine or ebay.

@MrNo0nekares Have seen a bunch of concept bikes that are really cool but not sure about this one, seems a bit weird and heavy for $8K?

For $2000, you should definitely get the Black Lightning kit from Hi-Power instead. 40mph tops, and I believe you get 25 miles per charge. Sweetness.

the gas kits for bikes are a lot cheaper than the electric.

@rctrucknut That entirely defeats the purpose of one of these bikes. The point is to be eco-friendly.

@rctrucknut You do make a damn solid point. I suppose the upside is having something clean and quiet that can be store in an apartment building.
