I believe in1970, Ed Sanders got into a gross-out contest of sorts with Frank Zappa on stage, somewhere back East. One of them took a dump on stage, and the other one ate it.

Around that time, In another Fugs video, they were jamming, and they transposed a huge pile of shit onto an image of the Waldorf Astoria. If my parents knew that I had all of their albums, I probably would have been written out of their will.

@xibungo71 You believe wrong(ly). This idiotic rumor has been floating around since the late Sixties. Sometimes Alice Cooper is the other contestant. Not that it was necessary, as any thinking human being would immediately know this never happened, but Frank Zappa refuted this nonsense in The Real Frank Zappa book. He wrote that the closest he ever came to eating shit was at a Holiday Inn buffet in North Carolina. And he never stomped baby ducks on stage either.

Yes it's on DVD--it was in the library system and I checked it out. I didn't enjoy it much. I think sometimes filmmakers try too hard to be cool but lack heart or sense of humor, felt same re: Antonioni's Blow-Up and Zabriskie Point. (I know, they are supposed to be "reflecting" apathy and ennui...)
