I believe in1970, Ed Sanders got into a gross-out contest of sorts with Frank Zappa on stage, somewhere back East. One of them took a dump on stage, and the other one ate it.
Around that time, In another Fugs video, they were jamming, and they transposed a huge pile of shit onto an image of the Waldorf Astoria. If my parents knew that I had all of their albums, I probably would have been written out of their will.
@xibungo71 You believe wrong(ly). This idiotic rumor has been floating around since the late Sixties. Sometimes Alice Cooper is the other contestant. Not that it was necessary, as any thinking human being would immediately know this never happened, but Frank Zappa refuted this nonsense in The Real Frank Zappa book. He wrote that the closest he ever came to eating shit was at a Holiday Inn buffet in North Carolina. And he never stomped baby ducks on stage either.
@GrouchoLenin - I am not familiar with Frank Zappa's book. Zappa was fairly candid about his life, so I'll take him at his word.
If you don't think that a bizarre individual wouldn't eat shit, you have a much more elevated and unrealistic opinion of the human race than I do. The movie "Pink Flamingos" comes to mind. "Any thinking human being," indeed.
i saw this movie in a $.25 xxx arcade. it was about trees and birds and bees, then came the shnagoshach that blasted everything with some sort of green goo--it was bad ass.
Yes it's on DVD--it was in the library system and I checked it out. I didn't enjoy it much. I think sometimes filmmakers try too hard to be cool but lack heart or sense of humor, felt same re: Antonioni's Blow-Up and Zabriskie Point. (I know, they are supposed to be "reflecting" apathy and ennui...)
Si bien su música No era particularmente sicodélica, The Fugs FUERON EL PRIMER GRUPO EN NOMBRAR AL "LSD" EN LA LETRA DE UNA CANCIÓN Q FUE "I COULDN'T GET HIGH" (Agosto de 1965).
something about the guy (protag) in the film background, he grew up there in a very conservative middle class background and breaks out of it with the help of the Fugs or something like that, has many tripped out adventures while telling his life story
