  • ¡¡¡Uuuufffffff!!!

  • Great live version. The guitarist plays like he's just dying to cut loose and join in the energy. But his taunting back round licks produce a great heavy bottom.

  • I Wish I can re-make all of this, we have everything needed, oh wait we are missing one thing because of the stupid fucking mayor in 2007 made them take down Spectrum De Montreal, the concert hall they were in. Fuck that Mayor, I am from IL in the USA, Ivan was born in my state, so I'm not candian. Fuck that Mayor, I love the Spectrum building, it was the cool-est building ever, look it up on flickr and google

  • this is one of my all time favorite songs of them

  • hooooo, holy shit!!!! this is music!!!!!!

  • The keyboardist is shockingly bad!

  • @spikeman14 More like the "mix" is too much keyboard-can't hear any other instruments...?

  • OMG I love this song. So good!

  • i like how they rocked it up. really full sound

  • antarcticaaaaAAAAAAH

  • The keyboardist playing the lead line makes a lot of mistakes for such a simple single note part.

  • @VicClovisOnline Yes, but sometimes he did it on purpose. In any case, the dissonance sounds cool even though it is not like that on the studio version.

  • @VicClovisOnline @Dubwise4u The keyboardist isn't making a mistake, he (Colin, the guy on the right) is playing one sequence, and Lenny (the keyboardist in the middle, between Colin and the drummer) is playing the same thing but one half step higher/lower to make that dissonant sound. If you notice, after that sequence Colin resumes playing but Lenny stops, notice the difference in sound. And also in the video you can see them playing together in sync :)

  • @TheForgottenNote Actually, I think you'll find that if you listen closely, Colin is actually making mistakes during certain parts of the descending pattern at the beginning, and near the end of the song, as well as a few mistakes throughout. But I'm sure you already knew that ;)

  • @MeBurdman Yes in the descending part I agree he hits 2 notes at the same time occasionally, but in my comment I meant the part right AFTER that descending part, with the dissonance :)

  • 10, 000 points!

  • Qué gran concierto. From Perú.

  • In fact the 80's gave us very few good music - but this is really damned good.

  • @espe456 If you think the 80's didn't bring much good music, you're not looking quite hard enough. The 80's just didn't bring good Popular music. Men without hats is one of MANY amazing 80's bands that didn't get the fame they deserved.

  • The 80's gave us a lot of good music...and some of this too. Oh well

  • Excelenteeeeeee!!!!

  • I'm very glad I decided to go against the grain and find their other music.

  • They ARE underated, this song ROCKS! My favorite!

  • EXCELENTE TEMAZO,Y MUCHO MEJOR EN SU VERSION EN VIVO,SALUDOS DESDE PERÚ...

  • ICE AGE IS HERE!!

  • excellent

  • COMO ME GUSTA ESTA CANCION!!! :)

  • muy bueno!!!

  • I bought this tape for $1.00 in a bargain at a Sears outlet store in '83 on a whim. What luck! No idea why it was in the bargain bin. It ended up being one of my favorite albums. It was worth way more than $1.00. The posts of these live performances reminded me how good the whole album was. I need to buy the CD to replace the tape. I'll gladly pay more than $1.00 this time.

  • wow-that rocked!

  • One of my favourite MWH songs! - It's MY TURN!

  • these guys are yacked out of their minds.

  • Does anyone know which MWH song featured Ian Anderson on flute as a (studio) guest artist? Is it on YouTube I wonder? Yes, they do rock much harder live. What a surprise! I did have that first album on vinyl. My favorite song was "I Like."

  • @wardka Ian Anderson played the flute on the song "On Tuesday" found on the Pop Goes the World album. As of this writing, it is not on YouTube.

  • que es de este grupo ........ siguen activos ??????

    de la puta mare

  • nacan

  • The keyboard player made lots of mistakes but i love this better than the studio one. Yeah playing sober is not the same.

  • It's way better than the studio version despite the occasional missed keyboard note. Who would have thought that these guys were so good live?

  • Love the synth! So awesome sounding. And much cooler than the album version. The keyboardist is totally getting down!

    What year is this? `85?

  • What do you mean by that????

  • I don't think so. Last I heard he got married, had a kid, and moved to BC where the majority of his family live. Stefan is still in the Montreal area.

  • Listening to this now years later...Capcom could have used this music for Chill Penguin's stage...

  • Montreal--1985.... Nope, I was in Tucson and I was 15! I was rocking out to the "Rhythm Of Youth" LP by MWH on my kick-ass hi-fi stereo---in the desert!!

    This live versh is fan-fucking-tastic!!!

  • una canción clasica, me hizo bailar y bailar

  • Grandiosa!

  • love the live version

  • ME TOO

  • ivan is a cool guy :D

  • RIP Allan

    (w)

  • Great Music, Great voice. Just love it.

  • KKKKKF. what year was this?

  • this song remains with me

  • these guys are the Canadian version of icehouse, only better.

I just checked out the discography on wikipedia, can't wait to check out the post 'pop goes the world' stuff ivan did.

Wow did these guys have energy in concert! They should have released a live album. Kind of like OMD, you would not think it, but they really kicked butt live!

  • okay wheres the old scientist with the time machine cus i need it

  • it is my fav song of my fav band what else is there to say

  • No....this band came from Canada. :) Montreal !!!

  • I think Safety Dance ruined there persona, should have stuck with more of this songs sound, wish I had seen them back in the day amonst all the other bands i saw, and that was plenty, thanx, what year and is this on a dvd???

  • Tough to say, Safety Dance was huge. Kinda like saying Wang Chung shouldn't have done "Everybody Wang Chung Tonight." Maybe not their best work, but what do most people remember? Still, this was by far my favorite Mw/oH song.

  • Anyone know the name of this drummer in this video??? i think they went through a couple.

  • Great keyboard part...I want notes...:)

  • i like his british immitation accent... really puts a punch to it.

  • a heart is bending all out of shape, i say 'jump boy' before it's too late. and i feel like you know what i mean. i feel like you're losing your dream...i am not sure my answer is correct, but when you love someone or something it changes you and makes it all different and twisted and threatened and the is what i think he means...i like to think that anyway...love this band

  • It had taken someone from Ohio (and I'm Canadian) to revisit this band and recheck them back in the eighties and he said "Antartica" is an incredible track. Still after all this time, I love it. It's true, one of the most under-rated bands of all time.

  • Wonderful band, great music...

  • One of the most underrated bands of all time

  • @cromwellian13 Outstanding! these guys are the canadian equal of Queen, and you just do not get any better than that. Uber energy, Ivan looks like half Ozzy and half Eddie Izzard, God I love Canada!

  • Excelente rola!!!Really ROCKS!!!

  • I'd like to be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you want to get a life then mate

  • Whoever you are infinite thanks 4 uploading this diamond .........

  • I like it, but one keyboarder makes a lot of mistakes

  • Yes, he misses some notes here and there but at least they are really playing the song live, which is more than you can say for a lot of New Wave bands that had everything programmed and sequenced. "Antarctica" is about as good as it got for early Eighties

    New Wave.

  • ^^ This man knows what he's talking about ^^

Love men Without Hats , too young to remember but know all their songs

  • yes... but it sounds more apocalyptic with those dissonances! great

  • sorry for the year late responce, but he looks like hes on something :P. maybe that explains it

  • This is like, the only pop group I listen to xD

  • I am looking for the song "The Great One's Remember" on this album. I still have the tape I had in highschool. Does this video exist?

  • These guys have so much talent and had so much potential, it's sad they were so underrated and the average person has no idea who they are/were. Great vid though, thanks for posting it, I love this song!

  • Just say Safety Dance, and if they're over 30 there's a good chance they'll know XD

  • love this song!

  • Men Without Hats are so great !

  • Men Without Hats Y O U R O C K !!!!!!!!

  • Oh man, this takes me back! I think I still have my old cassette tape of this album.

  • wow amazing. i didnt know who sing this song.

i listened to a radio this song , i send a SMS and they told the name of the song.

  • men without hats by men without hats !!!!!

  • whoa, i figured this song was long 4gotten, or worse never listened 2 in the 1st place. nice to see history is'nt lost. prettu rockin' 4 the 80's.

  • so awesome

  • i love men without hats

  • reminds me on hollydays of 1983 - still a nice tune and the b-side of my good ol vinyl-maxi :)

  • back in '91 when 1st listend to this song

  • great song...great album. damn do i miss the 80's. it was full of gems like this. rock on ivan.

  • I never realized what a good dancer he was.

  • I love this band! Ivan rules!

  • This guy was a pure fucking rocker!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • global warming is a myth.

  • theres no publicity b/c this was in the 80's

  • antarcticaaaaAAAAAAAAAA..A A A A A A a a

  • this song is awesomeeeee, men without hats needs pore publicity!!

  • A song about global warming 20 years ahead of it's time...

  • I learned those keyboards and i can play better than the karate chopper. did you notice he messed up a couple times?

  • its the beauty of live concerts never know whats gonna happen lol

  • wow...this kicks major fuckin ass ....this is THE best song from rythem of youth...and this is a great performance...thanx alot ill favorite this one

  • en español!!! QUe roll-oN!!!! YEAH!!!

  • WAU!!!...simplemente genial...esta cancion logra enlokecerme...

  • just great¡ thnx...

  • classic synth-pop/techno band I love this band he is the most beautiful man..

  • Great!!!!!

  • You see the guy beating the shit out of that keyboard? How about at 3:26/4:48 when the lead singer scratches his pits???? Priceless

  • Brazil in da house !!! : - )

They're also great on live performances!.. thanx!

  • amazing song

  • Australia loves you, too!

  • Ésta, junto con "I like", mis preferidas

  • nice

  • yess! austria loves you!!

  • MEN WITHOUT HATS TOTALY RULE MAN!!

  • this video ruleess!!!!men without hats is awesome!

  • 3:26/4:48 the lead singer scratches the shit outta his pits! And how about the karate chop keyboard player? Priceless!

  • Lol no no, at 3:26 I think what he's doing is literally showing his heart "bending all out of shape". It's clever. He does something similar in the live version of Safety Dance. When it goes "everybody look at your hands" he literally claps his hands over his face. It's so clever and amusing- it makes me giggle everytime. :D

The karate chop however, there's just no explaining that one.... But I give him props for doing it through the whole concert hehehe

  • Can you explain more on "heart bending all out of shape", im not sure what you mean by that.

  • sorry for the EXTREMElY after the fact question, lol

  • Certainly! I was just reponding to mszonda's comment about "the lead singer scratching his pits" at 3:26. Funny as that is, I always interpreted Ivan's gesture there to be more than just a case of the itchies (*giggle*) since he puts his hand directly over his heart and than pumps it in sort of a beating motion like a "heart bending all out of shape". Just my opinion. But then again, what do I know, I wasn't even born yet when this was recorded! ^_^ Hope that helps! <3

  • thanks ^^, i understand what you mean now :),
