make sure u find a highly recommended dr-some are more talented-and don't look at the needle. Just relax. Dr sprays a coolant before injecting the local anesthetic, then gives the big shot. This coming from someone who was so scared of needles that a nurse had to chase me around when I was little and have help to pin me down to give me a shot. Even as an adult I have to be propped against a wall because I flinch so bad, but amazingly I tolerate cortisone shots from a dr that knows how 2 give em
i have to get a shot in my knee and im so scared :( i had a local injection first to see if the effects of cortisone shot would work and even tht tiny needle hurt like hell so iam SOO scared about the reall thing,, any scale on how much the actual injection hurts im pretty sure i can handle after pain lol
I did not think it was that painful because they gave me a local. But when the 2nd time only lasted about a month I no longer thought it was worth it. It made me gain a lot of weight too. I now got to an osteopath for my head, neck and back pain and find this more helpful.
My name is Jackie and I was hit by a car a year ago, today I visited my doctor and he said that I need to have injections of cortisone in my neck and lower back. I have three herniated disc in my neck and two in my lower back. I dont know what to do, and your video is helpful and it looks painful too. I need advice, can you please help me here. I want to know if u had any side effects after this procedure and if it hurt.
Hi Jackie how are you? I'm not the one who posted this video but yes they are painful. I have to go for my third shot on Friday :( I only have 1 herniated disc, I can't imagine 3! YIKES. My one year is coming up in November for my accident. My disc herniation is in my C6 and C7 so I get my cortisone shots in my upper spine. The side effects I get is I get wicked wicked tired after wards. I sleep for like 7 hours. And it also makes my arm feel like a million pounds. Relief happens a few later
Ouch that sucks but I bruised a muscle in my knee playing soccer and this shot wasnt painful if you relax before taking the shot YOU DEFINITELY FEEL IT but afterwards its just numbness and than you get over it in a day or two.
how did it help with your knee? i did the same playing soccer, i collided knee to knee with someone, nothing broken or torn (got xray and mri) doc suggested a cort shot.
i get one today in my knee and im scared outa my mind. i have like no tolerence at all for needle and watching this is already making me tear up. i hope it doesn't hurt. =p
I got one in one of my foot joints today. Hurts like a mofo dude. The pressure from all the goo they injected made my foot bones feel like they were being ripped apart. Seeing as yours is your knee though, it shouldn't be that bad. It dosen't really hurt till they push the plunger down. Good luck man.
thanks, just had that done, have 2 pinched nerves. day 1-4 felt great then I guess I overdid it cause boy am I in all kinds of pain. Thank for the video. Sometimes watching helps to understand wha tyou are feeling.
Patti. I was just wondering why it didn't take? how did you over do it? I just got a pinched nerve in my neck last month, Ive been in crazy pain ever since. Do you think I should go this route. Was it painful? Any info would be much appreciated. Ive never felt pain like this in my life.
