Still, as you have also keyed in on, he managed to find time "right after" the deal was cut short with Williams, to jump back right into the swing of things against a lesser opponent, though Paul's supposed to be so easy to beat.

Hopkins is not as intense a fighter as Williams, who toyed with Pavlik and could have stopped him whenever he chose, who is not a natural LHW and never been known as a puncher (in his last 10 fights, 1 by KO). Williams breaks fighters down with endless punching carrying significant power, if you dont have a defense like Wright, a chin like Maragarito or the movement of a Pacquiao, Williams is going to cause you significant problems, Pavlik is easy to hit and can be hurt.

Firstly, Hopkins was nt "toying" with Pavlik. He was hitting him with full power hooks and uppercuts and trying him to take him out (as he confirmed after the fight).

Secondly, there's no doubt that Hopkins is stronger than Williams in absolute (rather than P4P) terms - he's a Light Heavy, for Christ's sake. Pavlik took Hopkins', Taylor's and Miranda's best punches (who - whatever you think of him - hits like a mule). Williams couldn't trouble some WWs with his power. He won't trouble Pavlik.

I think Paul Williams wins early because he is loose with his punches. Kelly Plavik only throw punches when he is set and has an opportunity (sharpshooter) like the Klitchko Brothers. Great match up, good to see it happen, though I honestly don't see how Pavlik can win. Not against a guy who throws punches seemingly non-stop every round. Pavlik hopefully learned some movement along the way, because Williams will be all over him if he hasn't.

Williams should win though he's moving up in weight a lot. Kelly has a big punch so he's dangerous. I like Williams at welter where he's untouchable by ANYONE. I want to see him fight Mayweather. So if he wins I'm happy. Though I really like Pavlik too, Williams is one of my top top favorites.

I'm a Pavlik fan so in my bias opinion I would say that Pavlik has power like Paul has never faced before, and is just as tall (though Paul does have freakish reach), plus Kelly has a pretty damn good work rate himself. I think that Paul can hold Kelly off but not for long, and eventually that big one two is gonna connect and put Paul on his back. Props to them both for making the fight
