The Normans weren't just French they were Scandinavian aswell. Plus in medieval times, France was made up of small Dukedoms/provinces ruled by a duke who swore allegence the the king of France. In 1066 when Duke william of normandy (and the normans in general) conquered England they broke their allegence with France and considered themselves English. Infact the French themselves didn't consider the Normans or the Plantagnet dynasty French when they ruled England.

It´s a really good movie, you could see that God was with Joan of Arc, and you could see how the churche was denying the voice of God that Joan of Arc could hear.

God, I hate films with dubbing, it destroys everything :/ At least some directors like Stanley Kubrick made his films with a restriction, that his films can be played in other countries only with subtitles. It;s a pity that in Germany to watch a film with original sound, you have to buy it on a dvd. Almost every german tv station puts foreign films with their own dubbing - tragedy!

Tamil TV stations do it too. I saw a dubbing of The Brothers Grimm and it sounded disgusting. The dub of The Men In Black was even worse!

@qbarycerz what about puting movies directly in a logic way? For exemple, this movie about french in french... Imagine that in a French point of view: this movie in english! Worst, hollywood often stole some piece of other's history making it "american" or "english". Like the scene when Jack Sparrow was chased by cannibals, inspired by the death of "l'olonnais" a french bucaneer, or the movie "the last samuraï" were this last samuraï was a french sent by napoleon. Dubbing is nothing after that.
