  • I think he is confusing about the whole sould thing. We can't see our sould so the only way to know about it is to listen to scripture...not him. He wants his church to change doctrine but it can't. Every group has rules to belong. When you can no longer meet those rules you either do something to stay in the group or leave it.

  • The person here says that the Book of Mormon and the D&C do not reference homosexuality, but we do have modern prophets today that do. Also, did I understand him incorrectly, or does he plan on living a homosexual lifestyle? Finally, he says he believes he will be gay in the eternities, but that is contrary to the doctrine. Two men or two women together cannot have posterity. Not judging, but interested in his plan and take on these issues.

  • @LDStothecore

Well, fortunately the Mormon doctrine is false, so he doesn't have to worry about being gay. Religion is simply superstition.

  • @ScienceReasonBelief Are you atheist?

  • @LDStothecore

I don't believe in religion... neither should you.

  • I am blown away by this riveting, firsthand personal account of same-sex attraction.

  • this is a TRUE testimony of an Honest Latter-Day Saint ! God Bless you

  • Excellent presentation from both brothers on Mormon theology, complexities of sexuality and unconditional love. Thank you both for your honesty, compassion, and the realities of being gay and Mormon. We are all a "work in progress" and it is obvious that some have made "true" progression in this life towards understanding who they are and the challenges they face. How wonderful to hear Clark's arrival at "self- legitimacy". This video is an example of God's love in action for all people.

  • tillietebben, why do you have so much anger towards gays. Have we, as a whole, offended you? Why are you even watching these types of videos? The hatred and anger that you hold in your heart hurts YOU more than anyone. Go see the Johnny Depp movie "Sweeney Todd". It's a tale of a man who has been wronged and lives an angry and hateful life and he suffers immensely because of his own poor choices on how to handle his anger and hatred. I believe that you could benefit from that life lesson.

  • awsome

  • Excellent.

  • Here is a man with a good heart, no malice, but that does not make his religious beliefs true. How does he resolve the fact that Mormonism promises males they will become gods, have a wife, and have children? Why is he sacrificing his sexual drives for a god who indulges his sexual drives (the Mormon god is flesh and blood with at least three wives and many children; he also sexually fathers Jesus). through Mary).

  • Notonmypage, where did you hear that? Do you believe te Mormon God is anything other than God the father of Jesus Christ?

I don't know where you got what you put in your parentheses there. It's not true.

  • This is one of the best professions of faith I've heard in a long time.

  • what a phenominal testimony by Clark and his brother! I am a Christian man, straight as an arrow, but I get it.

  • I am impressed with you, Clark, that you took the time to realize that the plan of salvation applies to you just as much as it does to a straight person. Ignore the haters. Never turn your back on Christ as He will never do that to you.

  • Really inspiring.

Thanks Clark, I admire your strength and faith.

  • "There is no limit to the false doctrine they are willing to pull out of their asses."

He was obviously NOT attempting to promote his talk as church doctrine.

He obviously has found a different spiritual enlightenment than you. We each have our own relationship with God, which is why he will and should be the only judge.

  • Okay, when it comes to Mormon doctrine about life after death and marriage in the celestial kingdom - its wrong. According to the bible, Jesus replied that there is no marriage in heaven, that we will be as angels. So all this talk about marriage and eternal family is a bit off in my opinion.

  • Although not explicitly endorsing McCain, the LDS church will be supporting McCain...with all his multiple marriages/adulteries and trophy wives.....reaganwasright...clean up the mess in your own straight world first....when you've done that, feel free to come back with your "sin" smears....

  • What the LDS church is saying about homosexuality is not the same thing it was saying 15 years ago, and certainly not what it was saying 30 years ago. It's reasonable to assume that it will not be saying the same things 15 years from now that is says today.

And so it should be. It's a living, breathing, eternally progressing institution. There are many great and important things YET to be revealed. Sometimes I don't thing members of the LDS Church fully absorb what that means.

  • o.k you are not programed to anything k.. thats were agentc comes in k.... so yeah :)

  • o.k all of yeah that are gay! i dont care but i'm telling you that its not good what yeah are doing.. and yes god loves his children but your doing the rong way... stop being gay its not right....

  • hes a strong person to do that also his brother is a grate guy

  • WOOT. I agree very strongly that those who are gay fit into God's plan, even though we don't understand it yet. Love is for everyone, as Christ pointed out clearly while He was here. Thanks for posting such a great video.

  • I agree in that there is much we don't know about the nature of same gender attraction. However, I don't think, as a personal opinion, that we should cast away the possibility that this unnatural condition will be taken away in the resurrection. True love, and righteous love, does have the power to change our very nature and restore it to what it is meant to be. But again, I acknowledge we don't know all about this condition.

  • Come on, give him a brake. He is a good man. I'm not gay but I do feel a gay person should never feel any less LDS as the rest of us.

  • he without sin cast the first stone

  • I agree but this point of trying to change the laws of God and namely a religion that stands for ethical and moral values are unwaivering. It is wrong so says the Bible but that will be when the time comes for God to judge us. Its a matter of choice thats it end of story I love your ability of choice that is what makes God so Great and Awesome and awe inspiring. Choice is a beautiful trait that should never be takened away. But Also comes with choice is accountability.

  • reponse to user SRLOU89 book of Matthew, where Jesus states:

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits."

THATS WHAT YOU ARE A FALSE PROPHET

  • I love this video. I think its amazing that you posted this. Thank you so much. For someone to stand up and say in such a clear way that it is a blessing to be a gay person-- a gay soul-- is a very powerful witness to share. Bravo.

  • Yah, what the guy in the blue shirt said.

  • This is a keeper - two very articulate talks given that seek to shed light, to provide insight, rather than the usual sharing of the current and often intense state of personal affairs. The bonus in all of this was the richness of juxtaposing these two brother's observations and feelings. I, myself, presented at Sunstone in 2004 on this topic, but have chosen to remain quiet since then so as to let my life settle. Clark, you have truly inspired me. I may begin writing again.

  • Thank you for posting this video! I will admit I am a 24 year old current college student at BYU who struggles with same-gender attraction. I'm glad there are those who are uplifting, encouraging, and even understanding. We need more people to be like this; after all it is hard enough for us to come to terms and struggle with this attraction ourselves. I definitely recomend the book "In Quiet Desperation" published by Deseret Book Co. for anyone else LDS.
