  • can't believe i thought of this song!

    very happy that i did!

a very random purchase i made when i was younger.

    great band and album!

  • love this song, covered this song in 1998 played it in a live show and had to correct alot of the people in the crowd who thought it was an original. How can the 90's metal heads not know this song or this amazing band.

  • thank GOD for the 90's.

  • does anyone remember when Beavis and Butthead featured this video?

  • Saints Row 2 Brought Me Here!

  • I remember rockin out hard to this song. Summer of '95. Senior year. This song and "Tomorrow" by Silverchair never left my stereo that summer.

  • Headphones on,,,Volume high...

    Thanks for posting!

  • this song is never on the radio, so when it went on the cadillac commercial i got excited because i never hear it. it would make my day.

  • Kicks ass

  • Saw Hum at summerfest in Wisconsin back in 94 or 95...... they had two cds that were really pretty good.. your typical grunge type music with some melody

  • 3 people love shitty music.

  • @fmylifejc yet there are hundreds of comments....ass

  • Saints Row 2

  • @Dude118777 lol saints row 2 is what brought me here

  • 90´s rocks!

  • @WhiteRanger41 Sorry you're a bitch and don't like real music. I agree those bands suck but these older grunge bands don't they're fucking great.

  • @WhiteRanger41 your reasoning behind why this isn't good is not even relevant to what it is, sorry some shitty bands may have been inspired by this great band. And this is nothing like Nirvana, not even close. Hum's first release was in 1990, just one year after Nirvana's first release which was in 1989, and was there much darker album Bleach anyway. So if you're trying to say Hum is a band just jumping on the Nirvana grunge bandwagon, you're an idiot. Get your facts straight before

  • One of the most Under rated bands ever

  • Good shit. I remember seeing these guys back when...

  • KILLER kick-ass song. Thanks!

  • 3 people missed the train to mars -_-

  • @mhphsai

    nice xD

  • Some kick ass people get to make comercials huh?

  • i wonder how the hell i ever missed this song when it came out.... i admit i only first heard it playing saints row 2... now i'm always listening the "the krunch" to hear rhis over and over again!!!!

  • Early nineties was such a great time in music. Bands like jawbox, hum, lotion, velocity girl, the nightblooms, dinosaur jr. Where are today's innovators? All we have are a bunch of bland bull (nickleback,Katy perry,Justin the beaver).

  • @TheGuitarGuy17 i know right smh

  • Totally underrated band. Cool goofs.

  • This band is God. This and Dreamboat are their best songs. I want my 90's music back!

  • Saw them outside live on Wesleyan IL campus quad in '95 or '96. Loudest outdoor show I've ever seen in my life. This band has always been one of my largest influences. Downward is a hell of an album too.

  • I always like this song, since the first time I heard it off a sampler. Very catchy, heavy/clean combo. Kind of grungy. I'd be down for another wave of grunge.

  • this song brings me back its been a while since I herd this song ! ! !

  • @non691 Me too. To the summer of 1995.

  • Awsome song.

  • Heard this on Q101 in Chicago earlier today. Giving props to them b/c it's a good song.m

  • Love this song

  • bad ass song

  • Anyone from the ATX that listens to 101X has probably heard of this song.

  • These guys were students at University of Illinois in the late 80's. My brother knew them and he graduated U of I in '91. So they were doing their thing before Cobain and Pumpkins. Too bad they didn't take off ... kick ass band.

  • emos i guess rooted from skateboards XD

  • Reminds me of summer of 1995. Kick-ass Song!! Their whole album rocks!!

  • followed these guys when i was in high school! AMAZING!!!

  • I missed the train to mars. I FNG LOVE THIS BAND!!!

  • This band is awesome. Check them out on the Howard Stern show playing this one. They blow the hell out of the engineers. It is Hilarious They were sooo loud!!!

  • the guy on the right looks like mike lampe.

  • Anyone have this vinyl LP and want to trade with a Temple of the Dog mint condition colored LP?

  • So what's so sad about this song being used in a Caddy commercial? I don't see the sadness there. Should be giving props to them for being progressive. Salud!

  • In response to KoonyK's comment ... sounds like smashing pumkins never existed yay!!!

  • \m/ !!!

  • Sounds like Smashing Pumpkins mated with early Kurt Cobain vocals.

  • FINNALY SOMEONE BESIDES ME KNOWS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE!!!cherub rock ,am i rite???:)

  • @jujubox219 The "heavy guitar rock of hte 90's. Beautiful thing

  • @jujubox219 it sounds like your mother

  • Ohhhhhhhh. Hahaha.

  • @KoonyK

Nahh man cobain's vocals were always a bit raspier than this guy's, even in his early days. That's atleast how it sounds to me..I can see where you could see that though.

  • @KoonyK and thats why i have fallen in loved with music once again

  • that was a perfect description of how they sound lol

  • Hum arent Emo.

  • OH MY GOD. It's been bugging me for almost a year figuring out where the music in that stupid Cadillac commercial was from. Oh, Hum. <3

  • me too. thought i was the only one.

  • This band blows your favorite band away with sonic awesomeness... DOES ANYONE HAVE THE PUPPETS/APHIDS SINGLE I COULD BUY???

  • i used to wait up to watch this on 120 minutes back in the day, befor i bought the casette, i taped it off the t.v. onto my boombox....and that was in 1995!?!

  • wow folks this could never be emo not in emos most wildest fucking nightmare

  • lol hahaha nice one

  • @rhythm013 thanx i got such a chuckle...wellsaid

  • @rhythm013 Sounds like grunge shit

  • @rhythm013 LoL. I got a good laugh off of that one.

  • @rhythm013 their*

  • @rhythm013 their*

  • great song is a real classic alt rock . this is emo?

  • no this is what emo wishes it was

  • maybe if emo grew some balls, didn't wine and had depth

  • the caddy add is a two sided coin. on one side, the music is out in the open almost 14 years after its release, but on the other side, no one who wants to buy a caddy will find out what this song is and who performed it. too bad.

  • This band had one helluva killer rythmn sound!! maybe one of the best IMO.

  • Guitarist reminds me of Stephen Carpenter From Deftones cause of the way he plays guitar so aggresive, thats y i like this song because the music sounds similar to deftones

  • Still one of my all time favorite songs. About it being in a car commercial: just goes to show, that anything is for sale these days. A sad but true commentary. I don't think it diminishes the song in any way though.

  • it's a really good song., I'm not gonna bitch, whine and moan about it being in a car commercial, I don't know how that could actually ruin a song, and I don't think it does.

  • cherub rock came first so the guitar is almost identical but yeah both awesome songs

  • What an amazing song. I'm definitely bummed about this being in a commercial, just because it joins other great songs that I can no longer enjoy without immediately thinking of the commercial (Led Zeppelin's "Rock 'n' Roll" and STP's Wicked Garden" in car ads, Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" in a KFC ad). Still, thanks for posting this video in its unadulterated form!

  • "Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac..." Replace Deadhead sticker with this commercial.

  • "Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac..." Replace Deadhead sticker with this commercial.

  • I generally despise car commercials, but it makes me cringe a bit more when I hear a song I really loved in them.

But I still love this song - unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn't quite stir me as much as "Stars". It's not bad, but neither is it that good.

  • They just mean Hum has sold out luishomeroremohsiut (probably needed the cash). Never saw the commercial though. I just love 'she's not at work, she's not at school, she's not in bed. I think I finally broke her'.

  • why is it so bad that its on a cadillac commercial? ... crybabies

  • amzing so fucking awsome

  • Great band, not just a great song - both their records are excellent but I think both are out of print.

I would have been angry about it 10 years ago, but now I'm actually glad the song's on a GM ad. With all the great music they made, this is probably the first time they've made any money off it.

  • VERY good point. I never thought of it that way.

  • this sounds like cherub rock by smashing pumpkins. Who bit of who?

  • when i first heard the commercial i thought this was cherub rock also, but this song is awesome

  • The video also look s like Cherub Rock too

  • a fucking incredible song... i love it. ever since the first time i heard it iw as hooked. i NEVER get sick of the song.

  • i noticed that!! I was walking by my parents' room and i was like, "Hey it's stars by hum." so i walked in and realized it was a cadillac commercial so i was all frowny the rest of the day D:
