stone cold is fuckin brilliant, those what pauses are some of the funniest but yet smartest things he could of come up with, gives his brain time to compute more dialogue lol
Shows how good Austin was and still is, he never let the chants put him off once, or make a single mistake because of it, and it really must be distracting!
Get the new crazy version of Flair to beam down from a time machine to this promo from the future, let's see 2010 back to 2002. Then we have a promo. Vince effectively pressed the mute button on Flair as I only see now from watching TNA recently.
@countbloodula Stone Cold a nobody?! How long have you been following wrestling?! I don't think the millions of Stone Cold 3:16 fans can vouch for that......
To this day, I'm still upset that Austin walked out of the company and we didn't get that Flair vs. Austin pay-per-view match. That was the ultimate dream match that should have happened at Wrestlemania. It's a real shame.
@MetalheadJay78 it was good that he wanted to work with Guerrero instead of Hogan and Flair though, soon he walked, I loved this promo, Huge SCSA Fan, Austin owns flair.
NOW THIS IS STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN.. 2002.. NOT HIS PEAK BUT CERTAINLY NEAR IT. WHAT WHAT WHAT FUCKING WHAT... THIS GUY AND THE ROCK 2 OF THE BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST EVER WRESTLERS AND ENTERTAINERS EVER BORN. I MEAN THAT TILL I DIE.. THE SEGMENTS THE WAY THEY GOT THE COMMENTATORS AND CROWD GOING WAS UNREAL.. I MISS ALL HIS INTERVIEWS COZ IM TELLING U GUYS NOW AND I QUOTE '' SINCE ROCK AND AUSTIN LEFT.. WWE DIED''
Dude, you hit the nail on the head. When the Rock and Austin left, so did I. Man so many guys I know and strangers I meet alike feel the same way. If you grew up a kid & teenager in the 80's and watched wrestling when it first started taking off as we know it with the 4 Horsemen/WCW and then peak with The Rock & Austin - you know todays WWE is not worth following. Thats why I'm watching old WCW/WWE vids on Ytube instead of keeping up with the weak junk today.
@chazatlas I'm telling you i used to watch WWF/WWE from 2000-2009 Harrd Harrrd. And i realised that as time went on, it became some CARTOON NETWORK show, went downhill. Seriously.. where are the good segments now? where are the good matches now? where are the DECENT commentary now? Where are the good hooking intetrviews..? I REALLY NEED TO BUY WWF SMACKDOWN/RAW DVD FROM 2000-2003.. OR ANYTHING COULD YOU HOOK ME UP?.. WWE IS DISSAPOINTING ME SO MUCH I JUST WANNA STRANGLE EVERY WRESTLER!
@MetalHead4Life94 No this was a month or so before that. This was when Ric Fair was still technically the "face" GM OF Raw. Ric turned proper heel a few weeks later after Backlash which was in April 2002. This footage happened sometime in April 2002. Austin beat up Anderson and then fought Flair about a month or so later roughly either late May or early June.
austin is the only man who could turn a simple word into the biggest thing ever am who else could do this noone to me he was the best wwf or wwe ever had and that the bottom line cause i said so lol
@bigdaddy66688 his knees are fine he's said several times he's clear to wrestle, thats why tna want him now. he said recently he is done with stone cold and wants to be as far away as possible to become a serious actor
@danielclose2006 dude he cant wrestle they have vids of behind the scenes of his last wrestlemania vs. rock and he struggled the whole way during that match.
@taker980 yes i know that im on about the interview after he did the film Damage. he said he is 100% fit and can do his own stunts, but wont return to wrestling because his body wouldnt hold up to constant bumps but can take a few
The minute Flair and Austin got a storyline together, Austin went downhill FAST. I wonder how different things would have been if they gave him a run with Hogan instead of Hall and X-Pac.
Austin and Hogan would have been a million times bigger than Austin and Flair- I don't see why Austin, who was one of the top draws, should have had to do matches with Hall and X-Pac after having the biggest storyline of the year not long before, and apparently neither did he, as the creative team's stupid ideas were one of the reasons Austin left the company that year. Sometimes I wonder if the WWE writers are on crack, Vince used to talk about giving the fans what they want, but he never does.
Can you imagine, Wrestlemania, Srone Cold Steve Austin, The Texas Rattlesnake, Vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan, The Hulkster? Have Vince McMahon introduce the two to the crowd as they're facing off ready to rumble, the crowd going ballistic, no interference, no bullshit finishes like the Hogan Vs Hart WCW match, just who's best, one match, Austin Vs Hogan, with enough money the WWE could have pulled it off, but instead we get a half assed 'nWo' having mid card matches with Austin. Never say never though
Rocky's way faster that Austin and he and Hogan had a killer match at WM18, like you said not for technicality but for pure fun. Rock n Hogan have different styles of performing and they pulled off one of the best shows of 2002, I'm sure Austin n Hogan could do it, maybe not now but 5 or 6 years ago. You're right, Hogan would be way too slow now to keep up with Austin but I'm sure they could come up with something cool. If they did, I'd pay to see it!
Yeah I read about that the other day. I would take anything Hogan says with a pinch of salt, there's a good chance he never actually ran in to Austin at all, and he's just making it up lol, besides, even if he did speak to him at a gym, Austin hasn't been a wrestler for nearly 7 years now, and if he was to come back for a big match, there's no chance in Hell he'd go to TNA or join the Hulkamania Tour, he would have a Wrestlemania match or no match at all I bet.
true but it is definitely a match the fans want to see regardless because it would sell MILLIONS!! guaranteed. WM 26 i could almost guarantee it would be the match of all matches not technically wise but solely based on wrestling status
Vince DID set up Hogan vs. Austin. In fact Hogan directly challenged him on TV (Smackdown I believe) and Austin never followed up on it. The reason is that the storyline team wanted Stone Cold to lose to Hogan and Wrestlemania X8, and Austin said no. Instead, they re-worked it so Austin faced Scott Hall. Best Stone Cold Stunner I've ever seen, but it was pulled off on a terrible wrestler. I want to see Hogan get his chin cracked in half over Stone Cold's shoulder.
I don't think Austin went downhill. From the looks of it, it looked like his popularity was starting to really rise up again. It's too bad he walked out. He was the most exciting thing about Raw at the time.

The Flair/Austin feud of 2002 was the best thing the WWE had going for it that year.
