come check some of mine, listen to "blues improvisation", its definitely something different from the traditional blues, very inspired by SRV and Hendrix

@cris5202 que bueno encontrar tu mensaje aqui, la verdad es que cuando encontré hace muy poco a este magnífico cantante de blues me impresionó increíblemente. No sé siquiera su nombre, pero su estilo es muy bueno. Saludos
@TheObie9 Yes, it is in G. I find that open G is the most versatile and useful open tuning. As a rule, when something is in open tuning, it will be in open G. A few things need to be in open D. Dust My Broom for instance (the vehicle for my Blues Is Dead), and Blind Willie Johnson used a lot of open D (my piece We Could Make Each Other Happy is based on Motherless Children). But most pieces you will run into in open tuning are open G. I'm glad you like it.
Great job man. I would call you grandpa with pride. Keep jammin because music does not know nor care about our age. This song has heart. Feel free to send me any other of your songs.
@ricoismybitch I'm not your grandpa. You're an American. You know what a slap it is to call somebody old in America. If you can't talk civil to me, don't talk at all.
@fongster100 Hey comon now old man ! Don't be mean to the kid , he just asked a simple question . And I think he's calling you grandpa probably because he likes you :) Besides if he's being mean he's the one who'll have to live with it ... LIVE WITH IT !! you're gonna be dead in a week -what do you care !!
@hoopiejohn Yes, I did.The phrase Blues Don't Beg For Mercy came to me first, but then it was quite a while (several months, I think) before the tune came to me. Once I had the tune and the rhythm, I was able to write the other verses fairly quickly.
For me, that is often the way songwriting works. I have phrases that have been bouncing around in my head for years, and I still do not know how to make a full song out of them. If I live, it will all come together.
@691USMC No. It is open G. The song Blues Is Dead is done in open D. I'm glad you liked it. I will try to record a live version some time in front of an audience. It's hard to play with the kind of fire the song demands in a studio setting.
@fongster100 Thank you so much for the reply. I would love to learn this for our next "Rochester Guitar Club" meeting. You should be on the radio. You are very good.
@691USMC Thanks for the encouragement. I have been away from music for many years (working, raising a family). This song is embarrassingly simple to play (like most things I play). The basic rhythmic bit is the seventh (third fret, high E and B strings), followed by second fret, high e string, first fret, b string, then open. Play that so it goes with the sung line, Blues don't beg for mercy, and you have the basics of the song. Everything else is pretty obvious.
