I just bought one of these today. I could have bought two Ruger 10/22's for what I paid for this rifle, but I wanted a replica of an AR-15 that happens to also shoot .22

If anybody knows the gun laws in Maryland, please help me out. I'm 19 years old, I have already bought a remington 12 gauge. I'm really interested in competition shooting, and I really want to use an AR type rifle. I've heard that someone under the age of 21 can buy an AR15, but only if its HBAR. However, I'm not really sure if there is a .22 caliber version of that. Since I will be shooting alot, I really cant afford to be shooting anything more pricey than .22 bullets. Any info is appreciated.

Personally enjoy the M4 22lr better than the M4 5.56 mainly due to the lack of recoil. Its very easy to squeeze off multiple pinpoint shots with the 22lr while using a scope rather than the 5.56. To be honest I believe that goes with all weapons. The smaller cal weapons are in my opinion for people who know how to shoot. If you need anything more than a 9mm to take down a person then you are obviously not the best aim. However for killing big game like bears etc you must use a larger shell

@MrWashingtons Hey, thanks for watching! Well, I've seen the m4 ops at big 5 sporting goods stores. They run for about $550 or around there, definately get the ops model, after I put a rail on mine, it cost me another $50 or so for it, good luck.

i just hate the way the barrel is built. the barrel is actually in side the m4 looking like barrel that u see. taking the gun appart. the barrel is very thin, its like the size of a pencil. thats the only thing i hate about this gun.

you're probably going to have to adjust the bolt speed, look in the manual of the rifle for a detailed explanation of the procedure. Good luck.

Quality of ammo is also important. My M4 jams occasionally with subsonic and standard velocity ammo. It, however, has never jammed with high speed ammo like mini-mag or velocitor. Give them a try...

Generally yes. I have not had problems with very high velocity ammo, even while shooting rapidly. CGI Velocitor is my favourite with this gun. Mini-mag works pretty well also.

@GhostKid0201 i'd recommend either adjusting the bolt speed like RDS5284 said or simply use a higher quality ammunition. RWS High Velocity cycle well with this gun. Whatever you do dont use the remington cartridges because they suck ass in every semi auto (even remingtons)

Naw, can't say I have. I didn't even think about hunting with the M4 that day. I did do a little hunting with my P22, I got a coulple of rabbits with it, there's alot of game in that area.

winchester bulk 36gr and federal "champion" 36gr, but I have had zero issues with other brands including cci, aguila, and federal 550 bulk pack. So far 100% reliable.

No it cannot, the lower reciever is not compatible with a standard AR upper reciever, and no other part is interchangeable with an AR15. Ive been wanting to do a review on this fun little rifle to clear up some misconceptions of this firearm.  btw, Big 5 carries this rifle. I saw one the other day before I went backpacking, it retailed at $625.

hi i just got my colt m4 22lr and i went to the range the other day and i have alittle issue with mine some of the rounds didnt burn, but i took those rounds and put them on my ruger 10/22 and they burn with not problem. what do you think it could be the problem thanks
