I would say they are quite aware of that fact. Some do it with their eyes closed, deluding themselves it's good they follow. Some with eyes wide open, expecting more value for their sold soul.

I'm not anti-christian but I firmly believe that if Christ were alive today he would do to the Bible what he did with the money lenders. Throw it out of town. You see there is a hierarchy made by God within his created beeings.(not just angels) You can find proofs of that in the Bible. And also this hierarchy has a certain level of freedom to decide, even to decide others "faith"(for example the celestial council). So, God's beings have freedom to make choices, so had Lucifer.

I love Derek Prince and his teachings. He is the only bible teacher that my wife and I listen to. We avoid "heaping" up teachers to ourselves who only will say what our itching ears want to hear, as the Scriptures state. Rather, we'll stick with one annointed, Spirit filled believer!
Just like scuba diving, one is not aware of what is like a whole different world that exists beneath the water. You could live on an ocean your whole life and never know of what is just a short distance away from you. The spirit world where Satan and his helpers operate is also an unseen world and until your spiritual eyes are opened will you see a whole other reality.
I understand...Once someone told me that to get to the next spiritual level you must begin to question God. Then your eyes begin to open to what is all around you, for the common good of course.
