  • sounds more like a NY Italian-American accent (i.e. Robert De Niro). the way Hugh Laurie's character always overreacts to Stephen Fry's character is hilarious!

  • I love Americans and their fake nationalities, although weirdly it only really happens with Italian and Irish. you don't get Americans going around saying "well, it's in my blood, I'm German," for some unfathomable reason.

  • @MadOldPete They are British.... (facepalm)

  • @GaearAdan don't be so hasty to smack your own face, I can stop you committing violence against yourself by explaining:

there are a lot of Americans on this video saying that they're "Italian," and the video is titled "Italian brothers." I'm assuming Fry and Laurie didn't call it that, they're too intelligent. and yes, I know they're British.

  • Epic accents, man!

  • He's totally sleeping with his wife.

  • .. bolognaise!

  • This is incredibly awesome.

  • "the other day we went to the cinema...mad" hahaha! Reminds me of the skit he did about smoking pot once that led to him being homeless :)

  • haha fry looks like antonio banderas :D

  • its hard not to notice that they need arm hair

  • Brilliant.

  • there accent here is more american than italian...

  • @moscy11 ... they're meant to be Italian-Americans, it's a sketch set in New York... good job on "getting it".

  • @moscy11 Its not meant to be full italian.

  • those two are brillant guys

  • very funny, two brilliant actors!

    greetings from italy

  • lmao, fry's accent.. hahah

  • the end is like rick from the young ones

  • They're more Italian than the guys from Jersey Shore

  • Hugh Laurie has a great American accent.

    His Italian accent...not so much.

  • This just proves Hugh Laurie is sexy as any nationality! :)

  • Wow. The guy at the end completely looks like Hugh Grant, doesn't he?

  • @Claviernumerique Possibly, yet he's completely Hugh Laurie.

  • ....bolonaise...

  • Great comedians! Greetings from Italy! =)

  • he look like hous

  • @Wojaczysko He IS

  • Hugh looks like Christopher Walken in this...

  • OH my goodness. They did this really, really well!

  • Eran los mejores, me encantan....

  • This is one of those sketches that starts slow but then gets really good. You have to be patient, but the pay-off is wonderful.

  • "They both enjoy ragazzo sauce" Classy gag...

  • Spaghetti Bullshit WAHAHHAAA

  • Hugh is close to the accent, Stephen, um, not quite. It would be nice if people didn't use videos like this as a chance to criticize Americans (as several posts do). What's the point, really? It's a comedy sketch.

  • Yep... Laurie just can't get his Italo-American accent and mannerism together. He's very good at many things... but not at this....

And Fry gets away with it but, "quasi quasi..."

  • Not only that, those two ironize almost perfectly the way americans talk in the movies always the same vulgar terms and obscene language aswell, the humor and the irony here rule.

  • @NEMESIS1999 i think you may have missed the point of it.

  • 2:48 - Is that Stephen Merchant?!

  • @nineinchneals nope hugh laurie.

  • @nineinchneals nope its hugh laurie

  • When hugh fixes his hair made me laugh so hard!! xD

  • That was fun! But I would love to see the last part where Hugh shows up with glasses, looking weird

  • How many tons of gomina ???

  • The hair! The voices!

  • 2:48 Wow Hugh's character looks exactly like Hank Green. aha

  • GENIUS

  • the other day we all went to the cinema... mad!

  • "Bolonese"! XD

  • Great arms,Hugh!!!

  • I love hugh's expression..the one he does at 1:44.....He's just awesome..!!

  • They're perfect.

    I'm Italian-American.

    This is my life. xD

  • Hugh is SO HOT IN THIS! His arms! His hair! WRAWR!!!!

  • @UnfoldingWings Arms are important? Never even thought that. Rolled up my sleeves and it seems to be working, although I mustn't when doing surgery - nurses become faint. lol

  • Thats a preety good american-italian accent.

  • Uhahahahahahah!!!!!! XD

"are you sleepin' with my brother?" ahahah!!! XD

    That's so funny! XD

  • "wh-wha-what am i doin? im sittin here eatin my dinna, and you dumb questions!" lol i love hugh laurie:) nails each charater. stephan and hugh are AWSOME here!!

  • They're really good at mimicking and doing accents.

    I love them so much.

  • Hugh just hits my heart with every character he plays. Heck, even with this guy right here. =D

  • don't ask that dumb question^^

does he sleep with the whole fam? XD

  • Hugh is so sexy!!!!!

  • Ahh New York, New York.... :)

  • Stephen loses his Italian accent towards the end of the video (when he says "What bullshit? I ask a question, is all!") XD

  • @UndefeatableTwilight Well it was pretty obvious from the beginning that he was an Englishman doing a New York accent, at least to my American ears. Neither of them really get the accent right (Laurie was a bit better though), but it doesn't stop the clip from being very funny.

  • @Kagemusha08 Yeah...it's a really really good effort though -- and to be fair not many Americans can do the British accent

  • Isn't this made after Raging Bull? I'm pretty sure it is :D

  • Hugh and his incredibly hot arms =P

  • hugh at the end looks exactly like wheres wally

  • THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC...

  • Spaghetti bullshit. Sounds like a family dinner. T.T

  • R u sleeping with my brother brother? xDD

  • Are you sleeping with me?.... WHAT? :)

  • @nezapamatovatelne and he replies: well sometimes - when you pass out.... xDDD

  • Absolutely brilliant. :-))) Also, Laurie's short clip on the end is perfect. It makes you to believe, he is diffident, nerdy and slightly stupid... Or his face at 1:44 when he says "we have the same sister..." - just brilliant.

  • Hugh Laurie's got the and movements downnnn!!!!

  • Fry somewho looks alot like Robert De Niro in the 2nd GodFather :O

  • Italian-*American* brothers, I'd say.

  • If you notice, Stephen Fry started slipping back to British for a bit at the end. XD This is awesome, though.

  • This is a spoof of the movie Raging Bull by Martin Scorcese. There's a scene between DeNiro and Pesce where DeNiro accuses Pesce of sleeping with his wife (as usual).

  • BOLOGNESE

    LOL

  • he totally came out of the accent there xD

Regazzo is italian for boy isn't it?

  • ragazzo, yes

  • @ DeathSlayer Yes, it is. :) Ragazzo

  • so funnY

  • It's great especially : "Are you sleeping with my brother?" :D

  • Hahaha..as an Italian I could appreciate this. But they really suck at it LMAO. And I mean this in the nicest possible way.

  • Haha I understand, but may be you have to see that they're really imitating american-italian accents and mannerisms.

  • American Italian?

  • That's why it's funny.

  • I do as well. You mean Italian American? Because yeah, they're pretty bad but it's incredibly amusing. I love those...men. I was going to say boys. XD

  • Yes, an American Italian.

  • Lmao they just FIT being american.

  • They act so Seinfeldesque :P

  • does anyone know the clip that envolves hugh playing the guy with glasses at the end and talking about smoking pot?

  • the american ass sketch?

  • no, i dont think so, is the one where he goes "...and my sister and i were put into care and now im homeless..." basically, he says he smoked pot and he was arrested and one thing led to the next and now he's homeless. help me find it please!

  • It's right before the psychiatrists bit. Look up "fry and laurie psychiatrists".

  • I think it's right before the psychiatrists

  • THE BEST ITALIAN ACCENT HAHAHAH

  • theyre italian accent arent very good compared to the other ones haha

  • Thanks so much for sharing this - I've lost count of how many times I've watched this, and it still gets me every time! LOVE Fry and Laurie. ^ ^

  • I LOOOVVVE this couple of genius. It was a shame that outside Britain we didn't know this show until the House thing. These brothers look more italo-american than italian, here in Italy these greasy dudes are extinct, But still they caught some undying points of the national temperament: sex-food-hair obsession.

  • i think they're supposed to be italo-american

  • LoL, Raging Bull

  • lolXDDD

  • I can't get enough of those short sketches, they are hilarious!

FluorescentRose, you should hear the russian rolled R, that's something!

  • Haven't really heard that many Russians but (please don't by any means think I am just grouping Eastern Europeans together here!) I have a Polish friend who we were trying to get to say Irish phrases (as in Gaelic Irish, not English!) and she rolled the 'R's in such a funny way :-D We *never* do that in Irish, it just made the word sound Polish :)

  • lol, I can understand that pretty well! try to listen to French people pronouncing the R, they either get another letter out or vomit LOL

Is Gaelic hard to learn? I'm a big fan of this language

  • Heh heh :-D

Well... it's hard to say whether it's difficult to learn or not! I think it's just badly taught to be honest... I've been learning it since I was 5 and I still amn't near fluent. I've been learning French properly since I was 13 and I feel much more competant speaking French. But Irish is such a beautiful language :-) It just has weird rules and stuff.

  • "But Irish is such a beautiful language :-) It just has weird rules and stuff." and that's what makes it unique and interesting... and it's the language of the people who invented celtic music and ... whiskey! so I MUST learn it lol

  • LOOOOL, that last little sketch made my day :D

  • ...did anyone notice Hugh biceps...

    I must say...VERY NICE...yammy XP

  • OMG yes.. I was droolin. :P

  • besides Hugh being gorgeous...

...is funny listen to the Italo/American accent perform with a British accent

  • yeah, didn't he used to be a rower?

  • yes, in his early 20 he row for Cambridge...

... then he got "Mono", and because of that he change to acting...still, it was an extracurricular thing...who knew ;P

  • Does anyone know where I could find a clip of the sketch that starts at the very end of this one? Thank you!

  • Actually that's the whole thing. They used to do mini-sketches between the longer ones. The characters in them recurred in other mini-sketches though.

  • I'm italian... does our accent enfasize so much the 'R's?

  • Not as much as the woman does, but yes, the "R"s are enphasized.. By the way, more than Italian, they're Italo/Amercian (e.g. Soprano's and and the like...) You don't find Italians like that in Italy anymore!...

  • I love saying 'R's like gli italiani! I think the rolling the 'R' thing sounds beautiful.

  • it also sounds like spanish :)

  • Yeah my cousin is Spanish and she rolls her 'R's so much!

  • yeah, that's because we use the words with R and RR (doble r), and both sounds hard, but when the R (just one) is in the middle of a word, it's gonna sound sweet, anyway this is awesome!! i love Hugh *_*

  • Ragazzo sauce... lol ragazzo means boy if I remember right... Boy sauce

  • yes, it means boy.

  • pretty sure they do those accents better than I could, and I already start out with an American accent and tons of eps of The Sopranos watched...darn.

  • the accents are great, but stephen has such an innocent face, he hardly looks aggressive. x]

  • i didn't realise going to the cinema was a sign of madness

  • i loveeeee hugh <33333

  • Пуля!!!

  • "Spaghetti bullshit."

    "....[looks into plate] bolognaise!"

    loll

  • I Love hugh laurie is very funny!!!

    i'm italian!

  • It's that scene in Raging Bull with Pesci and DeNiro, heh.

  • hugh would have been a great godfather ^^

love his hair his accent and his shirt xD

    <3

  • There accents are soo good! ooooohhh

I love a bit of fry and laurie!!!!!!

    ^_^

  • the first time i watched this i was in a kink n i cudnt breath! lol

  • -Are you sleeping with my mothe..

    -THAT'S IT

    xDDDDDD

    priceless xD

  • hugh is realy gorgeous here xD

  • friggin' hilarious!

  • "We went to the cinema .. mad!" =D

  • "Spaghetti Bullshit!"

    "Bolognese..."

I love this, the whole body language which Stephen and Hugh possess and everything.

And Hugh's homeless character is, in some way, likable:

"...we went to the cinema the other day - Mad!"

  • hugh should be of this era and background it looks good on him lool

  • Love Hugh's hair and his accent! Its gorgeous! :)

His body language is perfecr too! They're so amazing!

'Don't ask me that dumb question!'

  • amazing!! why don't they play reruns of this in the states?!!? or maybe they do on channels i don't have. I LOVE what comes out of England! :D

  • God...

The same Al's Pacino moves from The Godfather!

    Italian's Gangster body language.

  • Haha awesome sketch. You can very vaguely hear Hugh's natural voice through the accent. Nonetheless they both did a great job.

  • "...they just adorrrrrre new RRRRRRagazzo sauce".

  • Isn't this from that movie Raging Bull where De Niro gains, like, 100 lbs?

  • i thought this sketch was good but i think everyone is over looking the second clip (the last 10 seconds)

    its hilarious!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ "both of my boys" bit

  • A wonderful parody of De Niro/Pesci conversation in "Ragin Bull"

  • genius!

  • did NOT see the end to this skit with the mom...lol

  • i love how laurie can do so many accents, and fry too!

  • yeah they have a lot of talent *_*

    i love them!!!!

but i'm in love of Laurie XDD

  • i'd love to try the

    New Ragazzo Sauce

    =)

  • ingenious!!

  • " are you sleeping with my mother?" LOL.. love these two!

  • Stephen Fry's pepper mill makes this sketch.

  • love hugh's hair...

  • This is probably my favorite sketch. :D

  • I laughed so hard at the bolognese part LMAO

  • I love the hairstyles.

  • LOL r u sleeping with my sister

    hahaha

  • lmaooooo xDD i loveeee themmm

  • auhauhauahuahuahuhau I love Hugh xD

  • wow. Hearing Fry's voice on this one is...a very odd experience indeed, though fairly well done. Laurie, i'm just used to hearing House.

  • WOW I knew that Stephen can change his accent too, TODAY!

  • Spaghetti Bullshit!

    ..Bolognese! xD

  • "sister" i saw that coming!

  • Lol Raging Bull,PG version.

  • Italians do it better!

  • Raging Bull.. :D

  • LMAO! Are you sleeping with my brother? XD

  • hahahahaha comedic genuises

    lol

  • I'm sorry, but let's be honest--the extra little sketch at the end was the best thing ever. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
