I think you are placing your voice to far back into your throat - if you project forward you will get a more resonant tone, with less effort.

hi Alex, I sorta know how you feel. This is what happened to my right ankle. Its not as drastic as what happened to you . . . I fractured my ankle (on crutches #1), sprained it real bad (#2 & #3) and then, i tore my ligament (im not sure what its called) which holds the whole ankle together. Im on the road of recovery. But i think you've got a longer road but i know you can do it :]

I would have liked to hear the non autotuned voice in the studio version because frankly, you can sing and there's no need to alter your voice to 'stylize' the song.
