How do you deal with your visor fogging, and when alot of rain gets on your visor, but with being in heavy traffic you dont have time, or not comfortable to take your hands off the bars, to wipe it off ?
Yes, orientation of the transponder absolutely matters. It is very directional. When I saw yours set up like that in other videos I was wondering how it was working for you, and now I know it wasn't. It needs to be set up like it would be in a car windshield: flat side forward, thicker part at the bottom, inclined slightly rearward.
Zone im not much for rain riding, suppose I better get use to it if Im gonna do some group rides this year.I see you got a rain series, gonna check it out. Thanks for the ride.
Mine is on dash of bike and not windshield and still works great. Lane splitting in Jersey? In the rain? How do you sit on you bike with balls that big? LOL
i would never promote any type of software for free Like Power Director 6. If you want to know what software I'm using then you're going to have to pay me to tell you that I use Power Director 6 from Cyberlink.... oh wait...
It's a Kodak V570. It's stuffed in my helmet so the neck serves as a shock absorber. There are many slim digital cameras out there now that record video.
Just be careful of the contradictions between what you're saying and what your doing in the videos. I've ridden all of Canada and most of the United States so I'm not speaking from inexperience. Just my POV.
I know I don't do what I say. I ride within my limits which are different from others. My goal is to make riders more aware of their surroundings that may put them at risk. Like how I don't come to complete stops; I don't do it but I'm going to post a video of how many riders drop their bike by do that exact same thing. I am more aware of what I am doing than of what I am preaching but I can't say everything I'm thinking about. Know what I mean? The videos would be hours long.
Hey, no problem here. You can obviously handle the bike in city traffic. You do signal your intentions and your general riders advice is right on. Maybe if I had to commute through that traffic every day I'd end up splitting too. Safe Ride.
You don't need to worry because you didn't stop for the stop sign. -10 points.
You make a right turn between cars and the curb without stopping. -10 points. You correctly point out to be aware that cars will make a last minute right exit across your lane from the left but you remain in the left lane instead of moving to the right lane while exposed to this possibility. -10 points.
Using personal safety as an excuse to ride in a manner that detracts from the safety of others is not right,IMHO.
i didn't come to a complete stop but I was aware that there were no cars; yes is not text book correct but I felt that it was safe for me to do; w/ my skill level. I do many things that I don't recommend new riders do, I agree. I like to point out things that new riders might not be thinking about that may be fatal to them. I was safe in the lane I was in; I pointed out to keep in mind the possibility of drivers merging over at the last minute.
Lanesplitting for the sake of getting ahead has nothing to do with your safety but everything to do with disrupting traffic flow. We, as riders, should own the lane we are in. You're demonstrating to car drivers that a motorcycle and a car will both fit into a single lane. How pissed do you get when a car tries to share the lane with you? The title is "lane splitting in the rain; a no no" and then you do it? You text on the screen stating don't put your foot down on wet traffic paint.(cont)
lane splitting for the sake of getting ahead of traffic is also another reason to split. That's y in Asia they have boxes at intersections for scooters; to keep them away and ahead of traffic. It honestly doesn't bother me when a car overtakes me; maybe it's because i'm used to sharing lanes. I also don't ride in the center of the lane for safety reasons which allows for cars to overtake me easily.
I am and have been a rider for over 40 years. Regarding lane splitting it is a great tool to use to avoid dangerous situations. But think of this. While your lane splitting, in moving traffic, you're encroaching on the comfort zone and lane space of possibly two drivers at a time while riding down the white line. If those drivers react suddenly to your intrusion they in turn can encroach on the vehicles beside them. (continued next post)
left lane of a highway does allow driver-rider to fit do to the fact that drivers sit to the most side of the left side of the lane. I also don't split at high speeds; "usually" when traffic is very slow or stopped. I don't split only as an escape route but also to avoid having to balance the bike at slow speeds and for other reasons...
Thank you for another fine display of bad riding. Your videos are completely contradictory and display all of the bad riding habits you have learned. While you do provide some good observation you demonstrate poor comprehension of the actions of drivers around you. Many of your comments are unwarranted. These videos in no way should be considered instructional. Still, I wish you a long and happy life.
if you're referring to the lane splitting, then I understand your point of view as it is a very controversial subject. If it's something else, then would like to know what I'm doing wrong. My videos are just my POV nothing else. Not sure if you're a rider, but most "drivers" think that riders ride the way they do because we're a-holes; that's not true. There're many reasons regarding safety that explains why we ride the way we do. But I would agree that 20pcnt of us could just b A-hole riders.
I hear you; most folks don't like riding in the rain but sometimes we get caught in it; scatter thunderstorms for example. I was trying to express the point that you should practice in the rain so that you can be better prepared in the event you get caught.
Dont know if you ride in the rain alot but anyways, I have rain-x anti fog on my glasses and on the inside of my visor both cause I have one also inside that slides in and out the helmet. Also i have rain-x original on the outside. It helps so so much! Hope this helps ANYONE.
first time ever on a bike today, and my friend decided itd be a good idea to lane split while i was on the back, scared the shit out of me. nice vid though.
It's impressive watching you ride through the rain for one (very few do) and then to watch you lane split was sweet. I find lane splitting intimidating to even think about. Keep doing it so I can learn more :o)
LOL... I'm the last person you want to learn anything from. I mean what idiot stuffs a camera inside their helmet. One way to start is by splitting two cars at a stop light. Then work you're way to 4 then 6... I don't recommend it if you don't feel comfortable.
Probably better suited for trails, being it a 3/4, but I remember I liked BMW's Rally 2 suit that also had a buit in transparent pouch (for maps?) on the arm.
But I didn't buy it (too expensive).
Anyway, it doesn't appear on BMW catalogs recently
yeah, I took my down too; a friend told me the same. He just told EZPass that he was adding his bike. I've been riding without it for a while too and have had no issues. I am going to make a pouch and strap it to my arm for those tolls that have a bar blocking the lane.

It's the tag. The arrows MUST be pointed up for the transponder to work correctly.
