  • I am currently trying to learn Korean, and this video is EXTREMELY helpful! :D

I would like your advice, though, whether I should learn the language and then try learning hangul, although I'm trying both right now. >.<

  • hey i am very interested in learning korean do u think u can sendme the audios and other stuff through e- mail

i will very much aprreciate it

    please please please!!!!

  • ... omg.. I PRINT OUT THE LYRICS AND FOLLOW THEM TOO! *O*

For people who want others to check their grammar, and their spelling, and even their audio, you can use lang-8(.)com (i am in no way affiliated with this website) You can leave your notes, and have a native check them for you. I think its really cool since you can also leave audio i believe, and have them check that for you as well. I know as soon as im good enough at korean, ill be using it. People that are learning korean, Hwaiting!

  • Watched this to the end! Thanks for all the info. So did you complete all the levels for Pimsuler? Would you suggest just doing Pimsuler Phase 1, and then incorporating a book like the Yonsei Level 1 during phase 2? I think that might be my plan.

  • Very good video! Thx!

  • I recommend Pimsleur b/c it teaches you how to speak and understand what is spoken to you, just like when you learn your native language as a child. I print out and read Korean song lyrics too! lol

You can learn slang this way, which is something courses don't teach.

  • Yes, Routledge does have a comprehensive grammar of Korean.

  • Routledge puts out some quality materials, especially grammars. Not sure if they have any Korean stuff.

  • Where did you get your Pimsleur audiobooks from?

  • oh and how did you end up going to Korea? was it like a school program?

  • I am really interested in learning to fully understand and speak korean. you just gave me motivation lol. I listen to k-pop and through songs and watching dramas i can understand/say certain things but i want to get to the point were i dont have to google translate something to english haha. how long did it take you to hold a full conversation in korean with someone?

  • @queenmimi909 Does chatting online count? :) It took me about 3 months. I was SUPER motivated then. And I actually went to Korea for myself. I had nothing to do with school.

  • @MsSeoul2010 Wow thats impressive because im sure it cost you alot to find your own housing and plane tickets and stuff. and believe me i am super motivated too its just sometimes i dont know where to start haha i know i wanna visit their sometime just dont know how lol but yeah chatting does count 3 months is impressive too most people when they are adults find it hard to learn a new language but since i speak more than one language i doubt it should be a problem.

  • Do you have an recommendations for good Korean dictionaries?

  • @kimikokao I actually haven't bought a dictionary yet. I've seen some good ones in Korea but they were extremely expensive. I've always used endic.naver.com and the dictionary on my Korean phone. I also bought an electronic dictionary called Udea Korean Electronic Dictionary Cool 210, but there were quite a few things I didn't like about it. They have some really good electronic dictionaries if you're willing to pay about $200 or more.

  • Thanks for this vid. It was very helpful.

  • @Wildorch1d Phew! I'm glad :)

  • omg, i do the lyrics thing too. it does help alot.!
